Pad Prik King -- ordered extra spicy but it wasn't. Tasty enough, though.

Went here with friends and it was fine. The inside of the restaurant was quiet and pleasant. The food was decent -- not special in anyway but good enough. Service was kind and accommodating. Parking was free on the street -- always appreciated. Bottom line: Probably about average for Thai food in Vancouver but I would consider it if I were in the neighborhood. Not likely to make a special trip out to find it.

Traditional authentic Thai dishes ... Modern Thai décor interior and wine bar. They have impressive dishes and drinks. We had : Red Curry Roasted Duck -Tender Roasted duck with red curry, coconut milk, lychee, diced pineapples, grape tomatoes and fresh Thai basil (Touch of Spice)! I personally love the bold flavor! 3 Flavored Black Cod - Layers of 3 flavors : Spicy, sweet and sour grilled black cod with diced pineapples, bell peppers, fresh Thai basil and seasonal vegetables. Highly recommended! We also tried these authentic signature Thai dishes, The aroma and the taste was impressive! Chili Basil Chicken Wings Stir Fried Garlic Broccoli Stir Fried Eggplant Beef Noodle Soup with super tender beef brisket cooked in 5 spice broth!

I got the mocktail Spicy Daisy $14 and B got the Mermaid Purse $19. The Spicy Daisy was very delicious and had a nice kick of ginger flavor. B said his Mermaid purse was good but not worth $19 good. It tasted like a regular cocktail. For food I ordered the beef tartare $22 to share with B. The beef tartare was delicious. What B and I liked the most was the chips that went with the beef tartare. The chips tasted like it was made in-house. The portion size of the beef tartare was pretty good. For entrée, I got the seared trout $34 and B got the Bavette (6oz) $52. The seared trout came with greens and the greens were amazing. The greens had more flavor than the trout. The seared trout itself was not. The Bavette was amazing. The sauce was very very delicious. The wagyu was cooked to perfection. It came with fries and the fries were very tasty. Out of all the items, I say the Bavette was a must try item. B then finished it off with the Beach Radler $8. The beer here are average price of anywhere else. Because my friend and I are celebrating our birthday here, we each got a Rhubarb Tart. I really enjoyed the tart. It wasn't anything special but it was definitely a nice treat. The entire bill for Brandon and I came to $160 before tips. The food was amazing here. I highly recommend trying. The atmosphere was gorgeous and cozy. The place is very small and getting a reservation was not easy. The place was super packed when we arrived at 6:30 pm. I do know the restaurant opens quite late and I am guessing the later you arrive the higher the chance of getting a table for the day. If you want to come here for dinner than a reservation is required. Also you do have to put down a deposit for the reservation online.

We recently had lunch here and honestly left very disappointed…read more The DAILY CATCH and the steak were good. The truffle fries were also good at first, but they were heavily seasoned to the point where the salt and flavours became overwhelming after a while, and we couldn't finish them. The desserts, however, were the biggest disappointment. They are extremely small for the price, so keep that in mind before ordering a $15 dessert because most of them are essentially two bites. We tried all of them, and unfortunately most lacked flavour. FOREST ECHOES sounded like an interesting vegan dessert concept, but even as someone who genuinely enjoys vegan desserts, I found it almost inedible. The chestnut sponge cake was overly chewy, and combined with the vanilla crémeux created a strange gummy texture. The espresso sorbet had noticeable frozen water crystals, giving it an icy crunchy texture that tasted cheap rather than refined. This restaurant is included in the MICHELIN Guide Recommended selection. A few years ago, shortly after they were added to the guide, this used to be one of my favourite places in Vancouver. Their lemon tart was honestly one of the best desserts I had in the city. Unfortunately, that quality no longer seems to be there. The service also left a bad impression. After we finished eating, the server brought the bill without asking if we were ready and silently placed it on the table. Shortly after, she refilled our water bottle and dropped it loudly right in front of me. I checked the time and we had only been there for about an hour and a half. I completely understand table turnover, but the way this was handled felt passive aggressive and unnecessary, especially with many empty tables around us. About ten minutes later, the server returned holding the card machine even though we had not asked to pay yet, and simply stood there waiting. At that point we clearly felt pushed out. Our bill was over $200, and for that level of pricing I would expect much better service and much better food quality. I originally left this feedback on Google hoping management might address it or at least acknowledge the experience, but no one ever followed up. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I would not choose it again over other restaurants in Vancouver.

Every single visit has been consistently exceptional, which is rare and speaks volumes about the level of care and talent behind this place. It's also a beautiful space. The staff is incredible across the board, and the bar in particular deserves special recognition. The cocktails are absolutely fire -- beautifully crafted, balanced, creative, and memorable every single time. You can tell there is real skill and pride behind every drink that comes out. The chef is truly exceptional, with an obvious attention to every detail. The food is not only gorgeous to look at, but outstanding in flavor, execution, and presentation. Every dish feels thoughtful, elevated, and intentionally prepared. It is clear that excellence is the standard here, not the exception. The servers are attentive, polished, and genuinely welcoming. Service always feels warm, professional, and seamless, which only adds to the overall experience. Wildlight is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression long after you leave. It is mind-blowing in the best possible way. Run, don't walk, to this establishment. It is a true gem, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The menu changes constantly depending on what is fresh and in season. Take a look at my photos on this page to see the range. Last night an heirloom tomato and onion salad tasted like the last of summer exploding in our mouths. There are usually 4 - 6 different fresh pastas to choose from. We shared a halibut with tomato one and bolognese last night. These pastas are the definition of al dente. No place in Vancouver does it this well. There is an extensive wine list sure not to disappoint and make sure to start or finish with a cheese or two. The parmesan is mind blowing perfection. They don't take reservations and this outstanding restaurant is quite small and busy so be prepared for a wait. If you are going with a group larger than 2, the La Querica side does take reservations and I've found that to be an equally exceptional option. Just a little more casual on the L'ufficio side.
