    25. Pad Thai with beef Raw bean sprouts kind of ruin it
    Deb C.

I didn't like the vibe here, nor did I enjoy sitting outside in the patio area with a table rocking so much we couldn't lean elbows on it. Drinks were nice (BBL/peach Bellini non-alcoholic) but probably overpriced for the size. (Banju drinks are half the price.) My friend's seafood dish had a weird mix of too many onions and drowned lettuce with not enough noodles. My pad Thai with beef had kind of a fishy taste. Have had more delicious pad Thai at places like Thai Coco or even Thai Express. Was offered dessert but didn't feel like staying. Servers were telling other customers about their 1.5 hour policy and they were really bothered by my empty drink container on the table until I put it down below on a chair for our purses and things. I actually wanted to keep the cup because it was thick plastic and reusable. Weird that at 5:30, they wouldn't let people sit inside because of reservations. Didn't look full by the time we left either so I think we could have sat inside just fine. Anyway ... I don't think I'll be back.

Green curry with chicken, no vegetables(thats what I asked for)

After a week long on cruise, was fed up of most of the cuisine, but not Thai, as they dint have any Thai food. With a quick Yelp search came across ZZTC, what a gem of a place, glad we went here, had made the reservations, so was able to get seated immediately, it's a small place, and crowded, so feels tight but other than that, food was solid 5star, so was the lychee martini and service was good too, it's a group of hard working people doing there best, if I had stayed one more day in VC, probably would've went again tomorrow. We ordered green curry with chicken and sticky rice, pad kee mao with prawns and pad kee mao with tofu, loved everything and every bit of it.

Came in for lunch with friends and were seated and brought our food promptly. I got the yellow curry with tofu, and really appreciated that the tofu was sautéed so the edges were crispy and textured. The lunch menu orders come with a free egg roll which was a fun surprise. The curry was solid and restaurant was clean and spacious.

Having visited once with my vegetarian friends, I feel reassured that they also would have options for my vegan friend. True to my instinct, we were able to request modifications to some menu: Green Curry ($20): Tofu as protein served with green bean, eggplant, and red pepper. Curry was rich and savoury if a little thin, though I wish tofu was not deep fried, it felt somewhat unnecessary. One feedback is to serve small bowls when customers order curry as it was slightly difficult to eat without the soup spreading on the plate. Pad See-ew ($20): Served without egg and fish sauce. I am not sure why but this made me think of Kwetiau, which is a common noodle stir fry in Indonesia, Malaysia, or Singapore. Not in a bad sense just surprising in a Thai restaurant. There were surprisingly tons of tofu (even more than the noodles I'd reckon) but slightly greasy for me. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Portion size was generous that we had to ask for takeout boxes. All in all, very nice place for casual Thai dinner.

Decent portions. The green curry is a bit on the sweet side, but you can customize the spice level. Drunken seafood noodles had a good mix of seafood. The green curry could use more veggies or chicken compared to the sauce ratio. The pork belly basil had good chunks of pork and green beans. Thus place is also licensed. Staff is super nice and attentive.

Zab zaab has one of the best thai food in downtown vancouver. Situated in the heart of yaletown, this place is nice and cozy and very near to the skytrain station. We tried the yellow curry and pad si ew both were really good. The servers were great and suggested dishes to us and also customised it for us

    chicken satay

Best thai restaurant in my opinion. Authentic flavours and owned by a Thai family. Their pad thai is the best and they use actual tamarind. Chicken satay is always juicy and full of flavours and you cant go wrong with their curries. Always packed on a Friday night or weekend, it's really cute inside. Staff were so sweet and gave my mom a birthday dessert on the house (banana fritters)! Have been a customer for years and they've never let me down!

The food was the highlight! This is the best Thai food in vancouver! The food truly tasted like authentic Thai packed with lots of flavour. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to squeeze us in on a busy Sunday night. The inside is quite small but they do have some patio seating outside. I can't wait to return, but next time I will definitely make a reservation!

    Tom yum soup w chicken

I've been here twice in the last month. The first time I got the Goong Hom Pa, Papaya Salad, and Pad Thai Prawn to share with my friend. The other time I got the Tom Yum Soup (with chicken), Panang Curry (with beef), Drunken Seafood Noodles, and sticky rice to share with my partner. The Goong Hom Pa was really good. It's basically just shrimp wrapped in spring roll wrapper and deep fried. It came with a sweet chili sauce and red curry sauce to dip. I much preferred the red curry sauce--it was so good! This dish also comes on a bed of fried vermicelli chips, which were really good! I ate them with the red curry and put it inside the Pad Thai for more texture. The Papaya Salad was average. The flavours were there and the papaya was good and crunchy. However, they added some strange elements to this dish that I didn't like at all. Namely, the raw green beans that were too hard for my soft mouth. I didn't know people eat green beans raw. In my opinion, it didn't taste good and it didn't go with the dish at all. We asked for mild but it was still a little too spicy so if your spice tolerance is low, ask for even less! The Pad Thai Prawn was pretty good and came with an ample amount of shrimp. My only complaint is that it was too tangy for my preference. Other than that, the noodles were a good texture and there was an ample amount of sauce. The Tom Yum Soup was what I would expect! It was super delicious, fragrant, and had a good balance of salty, sweet, and sour. Loved it. The Panang Curry was rich, sweet, and salty. It was a little too sweet for my preference but that didn't detract from how good it was. It paired really well with the sticky rice. There was an ample amount of beef added to the dish. The Drunken Seafood Noodles were average. It wasn't as saucey as I would have wanted. I wish the flavours of the sauce came out more. There was a lot of good seafood, my favourite being the squid and fish. However, there was a strange assortment of raw vegetables. One of which was the raw green bean again... I can tolerate most of the leafier vegetables but please stop serving raw green beans lol.. The service was really amazing, fast, and friendly both times. I don't think my water ever even got half empty, they filled it so fast!

Great lunch specials! Really nice comfy spot for Thai food in Yaletown. Service was prompt and efficient. Servers filled our water multiple times without asking and were really nice. Food was great. Pad kee mao and green curry were flavourful, and the lunch special came with a spring roll too. The Thai milk tea was sweet and delicious.

    Street Style Stir Fried Pork

Superb Thai place in Yaletown - David and Hamilton streets. Despite no reservations, we were welcomed and seated at a location of our choice. Service was very friendly and attentive. We ordered Chicken Satay and Fried Tofu as appetizers and Salmon Paenang, Stir Fried Street Style Pork, Chicken Pad Thai, and Tofu Green Curry as entrees. Drinks consisted of Fresh Lemon Soda, Lager and Lichitini. Drinks were a bit delayed but when served, tasted excellent. Clyde appetizers too were tasty, with thr Satay so tender and flavorful. Entrees were each works of culinary art, although the Green Curry was a tad too sweet. Rice was charged extra, rather steep charge as well per serving - a bit of a downer as most Thai places serve it as a natural accompaniment at no additional charge. Overall though the dinner was memorable - food had the exquisite flavor for which Thai cuisine is so renowned. Although we asked for "hot" spice level, our tongues were not burned off - we even requested chopped fresh red Chilis in the side to amp up the heat. Excellent restaurant, great service - we were set back CAD 200 (including taxes and a generous tip) for 4 persons. Well worth visiting!

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!
