My main instructor was booked out and also went on vacation, so I thought I would miss the chance to take my test. I found Bay Hill on Yelp and decided to book them for two things: 1. A two hour crash course in preparation of my test. 2. Vehicle rental for the test + 30 minute prep before. The two hour crash course was perfect. My instructor was calm, gave great instructions and made it so easy to feel comfortable behind the wheel. He was able to frame things that I needed work on in a way that I was able to process and internalize. By the end, he had me Feeling confident going into my big day. The day of my test, I met with JP at the DMV 45 minutes before my appointment. He walked me through the car I rented and what to expect for pre-test check (which was exactly how it went down, so I was well prepared for it.). Then we did some practice runs of the test route while JP very detailedly pointed out things I need to do and what examiners will look for during the test. Then he lined up with me until it was my turn. The entire time, he patiently answered any questions I had and it's clear from my time with him that he loves what he does and genuinely does his best to make you feel as confident and prepared as you can be for your test. Long story long, I passed my test and JP and the Bay Hill Driving School team deserve credit even though I only took two lessons with them. As an adult going for their license, you deal with way more self-doubt and anxiety than your younger counterparts, but these guys were able to quell a lot of that in the brief time I worked with them. I can't recommend them enough. Great instructors and even better people. Thank you JP and team!

She would smack gum, eat food, and generally had an attitude of not caring. Only until my last class did she run me through a couple of rules but I never really learnt anything under her teaching. It was high pressure and everything I learned was like being tested without knowing there was a test or what the material was on. The only saving grace here is that the people at the office are great, they kindly signed my second permit and gave me another learning certificate for $25 when I lost my first one. I would shop around for a better driving school before settling on this one.

A friend recommended Phuong, and I'm so grateful we found her. From the very first lesson, my daughter felt much more at ease. Phuong is incredibly patient, calm, and understanding, and she created a supportive environment that really helped rebuild my daughter's confidence. Thanks to her guidance, my daughter passed her driving test today! I truly appreciate the way Phuong teaches--not just the technical skills, but also how she encourages and supports her students. It made all the difference for us. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind and effective driving instructor.

My son needed 6 hours driving instruction. They set up the days and times which worked perfect for his winter break which was that week. I called on a Friday after Christmas then got a lesson for the following Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It was at 3pm which was good for my son to deal with afternoon traffic driving. Instructor: very communicative via text and phone call. Sometimes he was early, which worked great for us. First lesson: went over rules of road and allowed son to drive with much guidance. Second lesson: more driving for my son and learning to merge or lane change. Third lesson: went to dmv to practice route and what will be tested. Hand on papers were provided to the parent on what to practice.

However, the second lesson didn't go well at all. As soon as I sat down behind the wheel, he gave me a direction to drive in, and then immediately dialed into a phone call, hung up, dialed in again.. answered calls - he had me out on the road, going in a direction I wasn't familiar with, at traffic speed (between 45 and 55 mph). This was a shock to me but probably would have been fine - however he was taking calls the whole time. His cell phone would startle me every time it rang, and his conversation was distracting. He did this even though I repeatedly told him it was making me uncomfortable. This kind of behaviour continued until I finally pulled up to a curb and told him I didn't want him to take any more phonecalls (mind you, this was 1 hour into the lesson, and at least 6-8 calls later!) and that we were going to cut the lesson short, and drive home. I didn't know where we were, but once we finally arrived in my neighbourhood I was about to take a familiar turn en route home when he SCREAMED 'NO KEEP GOING STRAIGHT!!' I got the fright of my life and thought I was about to crash into something - turns out he had single-handedly made the decision that 'we were going to go keep driving'. Yeah, right. That's when he turned snappy and rude, as if it was my fault we were going back? I told him that if I say we're going home, we ARE going home - and I didn't appreciate him making decisions otherwise. When we arrived at my house, he said 'next time I'll turn the sound on my phone off'. Needless to say, I promptly let him know that there wouldn't be a next time.

My instructor, John Yeung, was uninvolved and blatantly said "All I have to do is sit here and have my students go straight. I would recommend going here if you are looking to just get your six hours in, but If you would actually like to learn something I suggest you go elsewhere.

"Ohhhhh, this clown is SO getting yelped."…read more That's the thought that came to mind after the third minute of his eight hour traffic school class. (It didn't help that the night before I was scheduled to go to traffic school I was informed that most good insurance companies won't raise your rates at all after one speeding ticket.) I guess this is the perfect job for you if you love to hear yourself talk, if you think you are an absolute crack up, if you enjoy making cultural slurs and know very little about actual traffic laws. Oh! And you have to be really good at collecting $33 (exact change) from each person in a jam packed banquet room of suckers... like me. The only thing he had going for him was the fact that he was incredibly flamboyant. (God I hope he knows.) That flavor was his only redeeming quality. Otherwise, it was one annoying habit after another. Like repeating the word "hate"... Oh I hate it when drivers cut me off! I just HATE it when drivers don't thank me when I've been courteous. I totally HATE the way drivers in Monterey drive right next to you on the freeway. Blah blah hate blah blah hate. Or how about the way he called every female "hunny" and every male "bro". Yeah you and I are practically best buds, guy! There were several basic traffic laws he didn't know. There are some real dumb drivers out there. They need basic answers to questions like: "What if I'm driving behind a slow tractor that's pulled all the way over onto the shoulder-- can I pass it even if there's a solid line?" Or how about, "Is it legal to hit a pedestrian if they're crossing without a crosswalk?" Yeah. Really. I did take away one very useful gem though. If you are cited for a DUI or any serious moving violation and the po-po can prove you attended traffic school, it can be used against you in court. It proves you knew the law because you passed a self-graded true/false 10 question "exam". Damn. What a racket. Two stars for his enthusiasm and that awesome lisp. BTW this was held at Casa Munras Hotel in Monterey which was real nice as well as close to Wild Plum for lunch. The bar, however, should have been open. A spicy Bloody was certainly in order.

I had only taken a 6-hour driving course with her but passed on my very first attempt! Not only is Jatinder highly experienced, but she is also very friendly. This place is definitely worth the splurge, and the pricing is fair and transparent. I was not at all experienced in driving, but Jatinder made me feel comfortable and highlighted all the road rules during our lessons, making me feel more confident about driving. Communicating with her was easy and, quite frankly, fast. She's very organized and was very understanding of my tight schedule with high school. Honestly, I recommend her to anyone who lives in Milpitas as their go-to place for learning how to drive. The ambiance here is always inviting and reflects their unmatched service. I became so much better at driving and trusted Jatinder Ji because I assure you that she knows what she is doing. Furthermore, she taught me things like changing lanes, of which I was very weak at first, and many other things, such as how to enter a bike lane. After Jatinder's lessons, I left feeling confident and amazed by how much they go out of their way to help their students become safe drivers! She even provides unique services that other driving schools don't help out with, such as providing her car for the test! With prices. She even dropped me off and picked me up at locations that worked best for me. It came in really handy for me, who was a high school student and needed to get dropped off at my part-time job. Jatinder, your positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for customers are really commendable. Such a friendly instructor! If you're looking for a fast and well-worth-your-money instructor, I assure you that you will get that from Jatinder and Star Plus.
