Our first interaction with A-Z Driving School was with Erin, she was very helpful and thoroughly went over all the options of service they provide. The prices are fair, they offer continuously flexible session times, and their cars are clean and recent models. His next two lessons were with Steve, who was very professional and got him on the freeway and helped him with preparing for the exam including backing up. A few months later, we got two more lessons (4 hours). Erin again was a great help in helping schedule. He had another lesson with Steve. He also had another instructor Katie, also professional and helped him with parking and other areas he requested more practice with. My son passed his driving exam today on the first try. What a true blessing Bay Hill Driving School was for me. I had a small window to work with to take…read moremy test before I moved. My main instructor was booked out and also went on vacation, so I thought I would miss the chance to take my test. I found Bay Hill on Yelp and decided to book them for two things: 1. A two hour crash course in preparation of my test. 2. Vehicle rental for the test + 30 minute prep before. The two hour crash course was perfect. My instructor was calm, gave great instructions and made it so easy to feel comfortable behind the wheel. He was able to frame things that I needed work on in a way that I was able to process and internalize. By the end, he had me Feeling confident going into my big day. The day of my test, I met with JP at the DMV 45 minutes before my appointment. He walked me through the car I rented and what to expect for pre-test check (which was exactly how it went down, so I was well prepared for it.). Then we did some practice runs of the test route while JP very detailedly pointed out things I need to do and what examiners will look for during the test. Then he lined up with me until it was my turn. The entire time, he patiently answered any questions I had and it's clear from my time with him that he loves what he does and genuinely does his best to make you feel as confident and prepared as you can be for your test. Long story long, I passed my test and JP and the Bay Hill Driving School team deserve credit even though I only took two lessons with them. As an adult going for their license, you deal with way more self-doubt and anxiety than your younger counterparts, but these guys were able to quell a lot of that in the brief time I worked with them. She would smack gum, eat food, and generally had an attitude of not caring. Only until my last class did she run me through a couple of rules but I never really learnt anything under her teaching. It was high pressure and everything I learned was like being tested without knowing there was a test or what the material was on. The only saving grace here is that the people at the office are great, they kindly signed my second permit and gave me another learning certificate for $25 when I lost my first one. I would shop around for a better driving school before settling on this one.

A friend recommended Phuong, and I'm so grateful we found her. From the very first lesson, my daughter felt much more at ease. I would not recommend San Jose Trucking School based on my experience…read more I signed up back in August and paid a total of about $2,300 toward the program. Before enrolling, I was told there was no real timeframe for completing the program because everyone learns at their own pace, and some students take longer than others. Based on that, I didn't believe there was a strict deadline that would cause me to lose my enrollment. Unfortunately, I had a family medical emergency that prevented me from getting my CDL permit or attending classes during that time. When I was finally ready to start at the end of June, I was told that my enrollment had expired and that I would have to re-enroll and pay for the program all over again. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I spent about a month trying to speak with upper management to explain my situation. Every time I called, I felt like I was being brushed off and never connected with anyone who could actually help. After waiting that long, I was simply told I had to pay again. From what I observed, the trucks used for training appeared to be quite old, and there were a lot of students sharing each truck, which meant less hands-on driving time. Overall, I feel like I lost $2,300 without receiving the training I paid for, and I was disappointed by the lack of communication and unwillingness to work with my circumstances. If you're considering this school, make sure you clearly understand their enrollment expiration policy in writing before paying, especially if you're told there is no set timeframe to complete the program.

We purchased a 6-hour lesson package for our child and called to schedule the first lesson. The appointment was confirmed with a specific date and time. Simple enough--or so we thought. On the day of the lesson, the scheduled time came and went. After waiting 30 minutes with no instructor and no communication, I called the office. They had no idea where the instructor was and told me they would call to find out. Fifteen minutes passed without a callback, so I called them again. That's when they casually told me, "Oh, the instructor wasn't feeling well and decided to go home." Seriously? Not a single person thought to call us before the lesson to let us know the instructor wasn't coming. Instead, they were perfectly content to let us sit there waiting indefinitely until *we* called them. And after supposedly contacting the instructor, they still couldn't be bothered to call us back. We had to chase them down a second time just to learn what had happened. The most disappointing part was how they handled the situation afterward. There was a meek apology, no attempt to find another instructor, no effort to accommodate us, and no ownership of their mistake. We were simply told that they're busy and the next available lesson would be in three weeks. And oh yea, they also said, it's busy everywhere so that's that....now do you want a refund or what? In other words: **their scheduling failure became our problem.** At that point, I requested a refund. Hopefully, processing that is more organized than scheduling a lesson. If this is how the front office handles something as basic as communicating a cancellation, I'd be very hesitant to trust them with anything more important. Customer service isn't just about being polite--it's about respecting your customers' time. Unfortunately, that seems to be completely missing here.

I continued my education / prerequisites for nursing school while working as a tech and later got accepted into a nursing school in San Jose. This allowed me to work while in Nursing school, and complete the program. My experience was great at this school. Yes, you had to study a bit on your own. And yes, some things may have been outdated, but this school allowed me to get certified while I continued to work my 8-5. It ultimately helped me kickstart my nursing career. My path to becoming a nurse would have been significantly different if this program was not available to me. Other programs took way too long or did not fit with my work schedule. The head administrator is a retired LVN, and her husband also works as part of administration. There are no online portals or true credentials you get as a student. The only file you have is a manila folder with the proper school forms and whatnot. During my short time there, the head administrator never knew where she placed our files, or was forgetful and always had trouble remembering or doing something. Asking for help from her was almost pointless because she most likely didn't know the answer. Yet, she is quick to collect money and almost always reminds her students to pay on time. Although this school is more affordable compared to other CNA programs in the Bay Area, you do get a sense that they are money hungry for their business. For instance, I paid a certain amount for tuition, but when overhearing admin talk on the phone to a possible student, she told them it was $200 more than what the current class is paying. Not sure how they determine their prices, but this is why it is important for students to do their research. Getting a refund was almost hard too. To be honest I don't think I was refunded the proper amount, but hey I guess they need the money more than I do. Due to Covid, classes were still held in person but the student average was about 12 students. Luckily, there was another LVN who is an instructor for the course. Instructor Akua is super friendly, passionate about his work, and is a great teacher. This rating is more for him, since he actually teaches and takes over majority of the time. I learned a lot from him during my 2 weeks there, and he was even sad to see me leave. If anything I wish admin would treat him better too. He was promised a laptop for his lectures but still hasn't received one. He is hardworking and practically has no days off since he teaches the weekend and some evening classes too. This school is what you make of it, so as long as you pay attention and read the material, you have high chances of passing.
