First time in Urbana and what a treat! We swung by Urbana Brewing, the town's only brewery, and it was a fantastic stop. The town center itself has a charming layout, with a circle reminiscent of Troy, lined with shops and activity. The brewery is new, welcoming, and already turning out some excellent beers. We appreciated being able to sample before choosing -- I went with the Blood Orange IPA, which was bright and refreshing, while Nicole enjoyed a smooth white milk stout that was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, with oak tables paired with iron chairs, and a rooftop patio that overlooks the heart of town. They also had some really nice merch available, though we didn't pick any up this time. A fun, inviting place that blends small‑town charm with quality craft beer. We love visiting with friends while we are in town. The roof top is a great spot to hang out during good weather. The main floor can get busy and the noise levels can be bothersome on busy nights but that's to be expected. We head right to the top most visits. I do think parents should understand that their kids should not be running all over the place. Most people don't find your kids nearly as adorable as you do nor do people want to pay for sitters only to have to deal with other kids. I can promise none of our 8 kids would have ever been allowed to run around like it's a playground. All it took was "the look". Perhaps later adult only hours or certain areas that are adult only would remedy this. Not really the brewery's fault. I see this behavior in restaurants frequently anymore. When it gets annoying we just cut our trip short and go somewhere else. The food offerings are limited but suitable for a brewery. It's fine for catching up with friends in a relaxed setting. read more

Have been to Urbana brewing twice and enjoyed both times. First was just for a flight which I enjoyed up on the roof, which is spacious and has a smidge of a view of downtown. Pretty decent beers. Second time I brought my nephews and we had a grilled cheese sandwich and gluten free pizza. Food was great! We played some of the available board games. Service is fine, neither time was anyone super attentive, but not awful either. read more

Is there less than one star? The staff seemed clueless on how to treat a first time customer or any customer. I had to ask how I would receive my food. It seemed I just needed to check back with the cashier. They were no waiters. It took 45 minutes for one person to receive their meal. The rest of us were finished eating and ready to leave when the server brought the meal. No apology. Just clueless. I'd never go there again given the carelessness of the staff. The ambiance, if there was any, was you're on your own when you walk in. Hope you can figure it out. read more

The one reason I visited Urbana Brewing Company is that they hired my friend Dr Chris Bingman as the entertainment, or it may more accurately stated because Chris invited me. I appreciate that this establishment supports live. music. The gal at the bar was good at suggesting a beer to try. Mat was very friendly and likable. I can't comment on the food as I had dinner with family prior to heading to Urbana I heard the pizza is good and I really want to try it before I head back to San Diego. The only downside was getting there as someone that doesn't know Urbana and is easily confused by traffic circles. I recommend this spot to those who enjoy craft beer. I had to tell myself I was paying for the entertainment and the beer was free as the beer was more pricy than I prefer. But I recon it was in line with the new norm. read more

Urbana Brewing Company. This is just weird, coming back in town and finding a brewery here, I guess it's a sign of the times, for sure. To begin - they have a back entrance attached to the parking lot next to Coppertop/Brackens. It was an oddly windy/chilly day, which made it easy to come straight in (and next to the restrooms) and bring in our Crabill's (that's part of a weekend Saturday Urbana trip - Crabill's Hamburgers every time). It's ROOMY. Large, open air space, next to the brewing equipment, and a nice little bar front to order from. Arcade cabinet in by the front door, plenty of seating for our (10-14?) people that came in at varying times. We took over the upstairs - remember how I said it was windy and chilly? They have two igloos - HEATED. And a fence around it (with a couple glass panels overlooking the square - bad me, I didn't take many photos this day). We stayed warm and comfortable, and the wind (and rain) didn't even affect us. A bar is ALSO upstairs (but not open on this afternoon). The food: Yes, I brought crabill's. Yes, the bartenders were jealous. But some of our friends in the area are spoiled, so they bought several items on the menu. Quesadillas. Chicken tenders. Pizza. The food was all definitely solid (and I've only heard their brunch is just as good). Get the hot honey with your pizza. Bring the kids. It's all good and not complicated or annoying - just tasty. The beer: It's a brewery, right? Their beer is good. It's not AMAZING. It's not going to blow you away, but for a town brewery? It IS amazing. Their food is incredibly tasty, the beers are decent (personally, I really enjoyed the blonde, blueberry wheat, coffee stout, and vanilla imperial porter). It's basically a great location to meet my local friends, knowing we have good food there (or a short walk away if we are feeling something different). I hear they're expanding - and it deserves the love. Looking forward to see what new beers they come up with. read more

I would give them 0 if I could. Worst service I've had in a long time and rude order takers. 90 mins and counting to get one pizza and 2 kids meals. The excuse, they had a group come after us that preordered. This was not disclosed at the time of ordering it would be almost 2 hrs to get food. When i called before coming in I was told I could not order in advance. No comment on the food since we never got it and had to ask for my money back. read more

Tucked back in a corner, adjacent to the town square (or circle, aka roundabout) is the Urbana Brewing Company. The main floor has a great functional space (with promise for expansion). They mostly feature their brews (crafted just a few feet away in the tanks visible from the seating area) with a few features, mostly ciders, from other local breweries. They have ample seating for the space, with a modern industrial vibe. There is an area for live music and a tv displaying trivia questions. This is a great place to bring a card or board game for a fun evening of folly and libations. There is a patio upstairs with cozy igloos that you can rent in 2 hour time blocks. Pro tip : there's a balcony in the corner with a great view ideal for pictures. There is a limited food menu featuring pizzas, wings and a few other app type foods (and a couple desserts). There are also a couple of craft pop (or soda, no judgement) choices on the menu. The space is also kid friendly, just bring something to entertain them so they aren't running around like feral banshees. The cider choices were deep and great for someone watching their carb intake. They are on the smoother side and not "bitey" like traditional ciders, but the flavor is nice. I tried the scotch ale which was top notch, and the dreamcicle cider which is bright orange and tastes exactly like it sounds. This is a great place for a fun evening out with family or friends. My husband and I decided to try it last night for a drink, but ended up ordering a pizza as we saw so many people sharing one. Sorry that I forgot to take a picture, but it was so good!!!! Came here on a Friday night to listen to my son play live music at the brewery. Met the owner as I walked in. Very nice guy. Talked a little bit about the venue and some of the beers. I proceeded to do a flight. The flight holder was a clever little wooden beer holder with a handle which I thought was pretty neat. Their beer selection consists of ales, IPAs, Scottish ales, wheat beers and they also have a few guest tap ciders on board. They also have a food menu. Nothing really blew me away with the beers. They were solid, but for one who has been to hundreds of breweries nothing really stood out tremendously about their beer. They do have an upstairs patio that is on top of the building and a bar serving four beers. It was a very hot day so it was very steamy up there. They did have a few fans running but overall the brewery was pretty steamy due to the weather. My son was not able to play inside the building so they put them outside on the Square and they Were very uncomfortable out there with the weather. Probably will give this another try if I am up that way, but would probably not go out of my way to go here again. read more

This pizza is so good!! Get the pepperoni pizza with hot honey!! Great atmosphere, staff is unbelievably incredible and the place is kid friendly! Music is great and they have free water available! They have 2 new arcade games and also a shelf with board games for the kiddos or a group! Could (and do) spend hours here! read more

This is the second time getting pizza here. The first time I tried the Orange Creamsicle Cider and it was amazing. So I was hoping to bring some home this time to watch the game with my pizza. I am not a big cider drinker and don't buy alcohol often to take home. And my husband, less than me. But he ran in to order and the man at the counter was short and rude when he tried to order it to go. Said we can't take it to go without an explanation and his attitude and rudeness didn't leave an opening to ask why. That was off putting. Husband said he was never rude before today so I still give it 5 stars, we all have bad days but would have like to know why. Is it a Sunday thing? He said we can take ales and beers to go but not ciders. Is ciders always a no go? If so, that's a bummer. Yummy pizza though and don't want to mess up their reviews with one moments. Would still like to know the cider to go question. :-) read more
