Love their dog petting chart and their "pawsitive impact" donation program. Easy parking out front (they are in a small strip mall next to a post office). Tl/dr: not worth the wait. Go to VEG for comparable price and faster service. I picked up the little one from daycare to find one of her eyes oozing yellow/green gunk. I called my regular vet (CAC) from the car to see if they had any appointments- they didn't- but the nice woman on the phone fear mongered me into going the emergency route and was sweet enough to text me the info for this location. I thought to myself "what a lovely kind human!" LOL of course as soon as I walked in I realized why she was so insistent and why she'd go out of her way to text me the location info. Because this clinic is owned by CAC. Nothing inherently wrong w the service received, although the Doc definitely copped an attitude when I alluded to the wait time when mentioning how stressed my dog was. I was 35 min early for my "appointment" (because it didn't make sense to go home for 10 mins). Was hoping we might get in early but as the appointment time approached I thought to myself "ok well maybe they stick to appointment times." lol. No. We were seen over an hour later. The catch? There was literally NO ONE else in the whole clinic the entire 1.5+ hrs we were waiting. Except the patient that came in after my appointment time and got to jump the line. Why offer appointments? [[HIGHLIGHT]]As far as I could tell there was only one doc on staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] VEG had at least 3 the couple times I've had the pleasure of visiting. About a $20 higher walk-in fee but worth it IMO to get in and out w some eye drops. read more

Watching a botched euthanasia was horrifying. My sweet boy was terrified and suffering throughout a long painful death. It took 3 painful IVs plus additional injections. It took 3 tries, and more than 10 minutes of torture. All All my happy memories are forever tainted by the memories of his suffering. The experience was completely traumatic. After a procedure at another area hospital, I became increasingly concerned about my dog Kliffy's recovery--but unfortunately, my concerns were dismissed by that hospital. Feeling helpless, I reached out to our primary vet (Clarendon Animal Care), who referred us here--and I'm so glad they did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we arrived, I was a wreck. I brought my dog in for GI distress and possible allergic reaction. My regular vet couldn't get us in and recommended this urgent care since they're in the same system. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I scheduled a same day appointment to avoid a long wait and arrived early.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seen by a tech about 15 minutes after our appointment time then waited over an hour without seeing the vet. Eventually we were told there was a critical case. Which I completely understand and am empathetic for as a pet parent. But I was disappointed to learn there was only one vet on staff. For an urgent care clinic, that feels like a cost-saving decision that comes at the expense of patient care and client experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had made it clear from the beginning that my dog was anxious in this kind of setting. Being left in an exam room for nearly two hours with no timeline caused my dog significant distress, bordering on an anxiety episode.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff were kind and professional throughout and I appreciated that they didn't charge me since the vet never saw my dog.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But ultimately we decided to leave and go to another urgent care that got us out in an hour despite also having more than one critical case. I understand that emergencies happen and resources can be stretched but better staffing and communication would have made a big difference for both me and my dog. read more

I was in their clinic within the hour. It's clean and quiet, and we were able to wait in an exam room which was nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire staff was wonderful - friendly, communicative, and very patient with my anxious cat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They explained various treatment options and pricing prior to doing any work. They were very thorough in taking her history and determining what might be wrong with her and clearly explained her test results. Our dog was exhibiting symptoms of a urinary tract infection. Our primary vet did not have any openings and we did not want to wait in a long queue at Friendship Animal Hospital. We were able to book a time slot online and have a zero wait time when we arrived. The staff is friendly, professional, attuned, and most importantly competent. The clinic was clean and modern. I would highly recommend coming here if your pet has a non-life threatening issue, that is time sensitive. read more

I cannot write enough great things about Urgent Animal Care of Arlington!! The veterinarians and staff are amazing! Shout out to Dr. Gloor who is just phenomenal! She took such great care of my boxer who was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She was able to get us an immediate appointment with a cardiologist that would typically take a month (most likely saved her life). They are competent and offer sound medical advice. With so many vets nowadays that try to up sale and charge for unnecessary procedures, this is not the case at this facility. They really try to find the cause of the problem and offer sound solutions. So refreshing to find a place that genuinely cares for our precious pets!! I would NOT recommend this care facility. On a Sunday, I brought my dog in for back pain, which she had before. In the past, she was prescribed an anti-inflammatory medicine (I brought the expired bottle) that had relieved her pain. I asked that if it was determined to be a back injury, could my dog be prescribed this medication. Dr. Abato injected my dog with pain and anti-nausea medicine. She provided a muscle relaxer and pain pills for back pain but not the anti-inflammatory medicine I asked for. The next day, my dog, who had been eating and drinking before the appointment, stopped. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted the facility numerous times over the next week asking if her many symptoms, including hives, could be from the medication. My questions weren't answered, and I was told to take my dog to an ER or general practice vet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I took my dog to a vet who said the hives were likely an allergic reaction to the medicine and to stop them immediately, which I did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called the facility over several days about my disappointment in their response to my concerns. When my call was finally answered, Josh Greif, a manager, told me that the hives were unlikely to be an allergic reaction, despite having never seen my dog, and they would assess my dog for a fee.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Never once prior to this call did the staff offer to evaluate my dog for an allergic reaction to medicine they prescribed. Staff shirked all responsibility, and my dog is worse off for having come here. She is still recovering. read more

Now that I've had to go here four separate times because of my frenchies's illnesses the jig is up... you all need to know this place is legit. Dr. Nicole Marciano is a wonderful vet who we have now seen a couple of times because of my frenchie's serious eye issues. She spotted a potential long term issue and encouraged me to see our vet for follow up. This advice really helped my dog maintain his vision and avoid permanent blindness. I'm forever grateful to her along with the very kind and competent and caring staff upfront, Alexis and Maria, who made sure we had a good experience throughout. We adopted our kitten, Fez, on 6/19. When we brought him home he ate and drank water and was playful. However, throughout the day/night Fez stopped eating and drinking water. His energy levels never changed, so I was not worried. I just thought it was a new environment. On 6/20, Fez still was not eating or drinking. I tried everything. Different foods, treats, milk, etc. and nothing. He began to dry heave and at some points seemed like he was having trouble or breathing. On 6/21 I decided it was time to take him to get care. I took him back to the shelter I adopted him from and they were no help and showed no empathy, even though it was ONLY 2 days! I knew I needed care. I remembered seeing Urgent Animal Care of Arlington and decided to take him there in hopes he could get seen. We went in and we were greeted right away with compassion. I knew we were in the right place. They were a little busy with some urgent cases but, the vet tech continuously checked in on us and let us know the vet was coming and was almost done. The vet came in, examined our kitten, gave a course of action, and provided him with care. After being seen at Urgent Care as soon as we got home Fez was a new kitten! From check-in, to waiting, to being seen, to check-out, there were no issues. They showed compassion, empathy and most all they showed they care not only about us, but more importantly about Fez.
