My office experience was disaster, up front I mentioned that I don't have any insurance and I have a broken humerus and I need x-ray and possible casting they told me office visit is $400 and I have to pay cash and it doesn't cover x-ray or a cast $400 just for them to see my face. It is not a good situation to get sick or injured far away home. The concern and question of where to go for proper treatment can be daunting - except, when you are fortunate enough to find just the perfect place. And this is what happened to me. I found Dr. Tigran Avoian, Orthopedic surgeon, at Urgent + Orthopedic, located at 1511 W Glenoaks Blvd., Glendale, CA. I live in Florida and am visiting my son and his family in Los Angeles for a couple of weeks. I am also scheduled for a total knee replacement surgery, back home in Florida, in early January. Although still using my cane, I arrived in LA, feeling pretty good, with only a very slight limp in my right leg. I must have overdone it on my knee, which swelled to almost twice it's size. I could not put any weight on it, or even move my leg without excruciating, unbearable, immobilizing pain. My daughter-in-law found this Urgent Orthopedic Center, on Google. I made an appointment for the next day and when I arrived (there's parking in the back), one of the staff members noticied my struggle in getting out of the car and immediately brought me a wheelchair. A short time later, Dr. Avoian was attending me. He was professional, kind and patient and took his time to explain what had happened and why, and what he needed to do to alleviate my pain. His treatment was effective and relief came a very short time later. He also took X-rays and explained them to me, in detail. What a wonderful doctor and orthopedic care center! I highly recommend Dr. Avoian and extend my gratitude to him and his staff! I give them all five (5) stars+ ! read more

If I could give Dr Avoian million stars I would. We are beyond grateful, words can not describe. My son broke his wrist last night. We went to one urgent care and they put a temp cast on and told us to go call our pediatrician and ask for a referral to an ortho. Our dr office is closed on Fridays needles to say we don't know how long the referral would take. Thank god for the great reviews we found this office, called for an appointment first thing in the morning and were told to go in at 4:30 even though the Dr was busy he was willing to assist us. We've never met anyone as compassionate as Dr Avoian is. Very professional and great with kids. It took him less than 30 mins to put a cast on my sons arm and we were on our way home. Broke my hand from punching a wall, double boxer fracture and had to find somewhere to get a cast ASAP. Dr. Avoian took me in, X-Ray, told me about my displacement and break/fracture. I was worried if I needed surgery since he said the degree of my break was more than usual, but he numbed my 2 fingers up, and did a closed reduction (basically adjusting my finger without surgery) to straighten out my break so the cast can be applied and proper healing can happen. If I had gone anywhere else they 1000% we're telling me surgery was the only option. Go to him first he's nice, knowledgeable and informative about what can be done and what should be done. Sadly I had a terrible experience at this establishment. To begin with it was nearly impossible to make an appointment, when I finally was able to communicate with the receptionist she informed me that I already had an appointment, which they never confirmed until I was trying to make one ! Upon arrival I was in excruciating pain and I didn't realize at the moment that I had insurance. The receptionist couldn't take 1 minute to verify and end up charging me for the consult. When I was trying to explain what was going on with my knee they neglected to acknowledge the issue. They disregard the symptoms and didn't even address the root cause. They only gave me some pills and the worst thing is that the doctor said that I needed a surgery; when I went to get a second opinion they informed me that surgery would only make things worse. If you don't speak Arminian don't even bother walking in. They only care about money. Trust me save your time and go somewhere else. read more

Dr Tigran Avoian is a wonderful doctor who helped me out so much after a pretty brutal radial head fracture. He may sound a little brusque at first but he has a dry sense of humor and a really kind heart. He didn't make fun of me for crying all over his x-ray machine and was really clear is laying out a recovery plan. I also got suggestions from him on where to go for physical therapy. It's a clean, friendly office where they can see you quickly and give you tangible help fast, which is exactly what you need when your bones are in pieces! This is an all inclusive facility where x-rays are done on site along with all necessary casting(s) and hmo referrals for additional services. We had gone to urgent 9 prior to our visit at urgent orthopedic and they did absolutely nothing but prescribe ibuprofen charging us $150 on top of insurance, and a stating we should go to the ER. I was trying to get an appointment for a orthopedic doctor, but none I called had availability until a few weeks. Luckily I stumbled upon Urgent+Orthopedic and came in that day. Dr. Avoian was really helpful in explaining that I had simply sprained my wrist. He showed me the xrays pointing out to a feature of my bone structure that made me more suceptible to wrist sprain. Then he sent me home with some very helpful prescriptions (and some good recommendations for Armenian food too.) He has a great personality, and has a great bedside manner. I called doctor Avoin personally to thank him for his professionalism and dedicated service. I was referred to Dr. Avoian by my primary care physician who was going on vacation. I had been suffering from severe back pain, leg pain and eventually knee pain. After seeing various doctors who diagnosed me with severe arthritis, collapsed disc, sciatic nerve damage doctor Avoian on the first visit informed me that I was in need of a total hip replacement. I was shocked when I was told this due to the fact that no other doctor had diagnosed this problem. My sprained wrist wasn't recovering and my regular insurance-covered urgent care doctor barely spent 2mins total talking to me before and after x-ray to explain my situation. Was referred to an Orthopedist but soonest appointment was in 3 weeks!
