Dr. Badr did a great job on my aunt's back surgery. She was in dire need and in so much pain and he saved her! Thank you Dr. Badr and team!

I had a very disappointing experience at this orthopedic office with Dr.Bastian, and would not recommend it based on my visit. From the start, the interaction felt unprofessional. The physician greeted me in an overly casual manner ("bro/dude"), which immediately set an uncomfortable tone for a first-time patient encounter. Throughout the visit, he appeared rushed, spoke very quickly, and did not create space for me to explain my symptoms. I came in for evaluation of a painful cyst in my thumb and ongoing shoulder tendinosis. Instead of asking questions or performing a thorough assessment, he stated that he had reviewed my imaging and that "everything is fine" because I am young and healthy. My concerns about pain were dismissed without meaningful discussion or examination. What was most concerning, however, was the commentary about my insurance. When I mentioned my plan, it was referred to as cheap or something which felt highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Regardless of insurance type, patients deserve to be treated with respect and receive proper medical attention. Overall, I left feeling dismissed, unheard, and angry. I hope this feedback encourages the practice to improve patient communication, professionalism, and respect.

When I asked about my MRI, his response was, "Honestly, I don't know. It's quite complicated." What kind of doctor says that? And to top it off, he asked about my job and made some comment about how I work in a tiny, not-so-popular industry. Honestly, the joke's on him.

I have had back problems since I was 16 years old. Over the years, I visited countless doctors, chiropractors, and manual therapists, and I tried numerous devices and treatments for a herniated disc. Eventually, surgery became unavoidable. In 2022, I had my first back surgery with a different doctor. It went well, and I was able to return to my normal life. Unfortunately, after an injury, my same hernia came back. What followed were days of significant pain and sleepless nights after the injury. Fortunately, I was able to get an appointment within a few days, and Dr. Scott Lee immediately prescribed the right treatment to control the pain and stabilize my condition until the day of surgery. From the very first visit, Dr. Lee's professionalism, meticulous approach, and calm confidence immediately earned my trust. He carefully evaluated my condition, ordered updated MRI scans, and clearly explained the treatment options before choosing the best path forward. His manner was reassuring and thoughtful, which made a huge difference during such a stressful time. On the day of the surgery, something really stood out to me: the hospital staff were genuinely excited to be working with Dr. Lee. Everyone I interacted with spoke highly of his skills and reassured me that I was in excellent hands. They were absolutely right. The surgery went smoothly, without any complications. I was discharged about an hour later -- and unbelievably, I walked the very same day with no pain in my legs, feet, or back. That feeling was incredible and truly life-changing. Dr. Lee even personally called me after the surgery to check on my condition, scheduled follow-up appointments, and gave clear advice on recovery and post-operative care. This level of attention and care is exactly what patients hope for -- and rarely experience. I am deeply grateful for the entire process, from my very first call to the office to schedule an appointment, all the way through recovery. I would also like to give special thanks to the office staff, who were always supportive, responsive, and patient in handling my questions and requests. In conclusion, if you are looking for a spine specialist and are unsure where to go, don't hesitate -- go see Dr. Scott Lee. You will be thankful not only to him, but also to yourself for making the right choice.

It was dealing with his out circle that was problematic. My daughter was unable to get anyone to return her calls and handle technical issues, so she had to find another orthopedist. I had 1 back surgery in '22 for cysts on my nerves that caused unbearable pain. Unfortunately the type of cysts I have can come back and did. I had a second surgery in '23 and Dr Chong gave me meloxicam to keep the inflammation down if it acted up. It worked brilliantly, I've had no issues since. I use it only when necessary which is rare. In fact I've had my last prescription filled over 1 and 1/2 ago, and it's April 10th 2025 and still have 2 pills left. I called a couple of weeks ago to get a refill to take with, as I'm leaving the country for 2 weeks. I was told yesterday April 9th that I had to make an appt to get the refill. I said that I'm working 12 hours a day up til my flight 4 days from today. His office is an hour away and an appt would take half a day. I didn't have it. They said he could squeeze me in on Monday. I said I'm leaving Sunday. I then asked to speak to Dr Chong and explain what I need. I was firmly told no. I asked again to speak to Dr Chong and she again very firmly said "NO!" The fact that I couldn't reach Dr Chong because Lucy said so was very upsetting not to mention it didn't solve my problem. This was extremely fixable and unnecessarily upsetting. I should be able to speak with my surgeon who operated on me twice without being refused by Lucy who I know he trusts and depends on and I'm sure she's very helpful to him, but she was not at all helpful to me. I shouldn't end up crying because Lucy won't let me speak to my doctor. I didn't need an appt to get a simple prescription of meloxicam for a chronic issue, under the circumstances. In fact I'm quite sure that Dr. Chong would've found a way to give me even 2 or 3 of the damn non addictive pills to take with me to keep me from having to have another surgery.... IF ONLY I WAS ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO HIM! Thanks for letting me vent, Nancy Lee Grahn Actress, General Hospital

I had a different issue now with my back. There are different specialists for backs so they assigned me Dr. Ghayoumi (also great!). The care he provided helped solve my back issue and I was better in a few weeks. My negative review is on the facility and their costs. I showed up right on time to my appointment, but didn't have time to fill out their paperwork beforehand. I was chewed out (scolded like a child) by one of their front desk staff. She made me feel extremely embarrassed because I didn't complete their paperwork beforehand... I went in for a total of 2 visits. First visit, I saw Dr. Ghayoumi for 15 to 20 minutes and got an X-ray. In total, I was there for about half an hour to 45 minutes. They billed my insurance for $2K. For my follow up visit, I was in and out in about 15 minutes and insurance was billed another $350. I understand that these rates are pre-negotiated and contracted, but that's just exuberant. To summarize, the doctors are great. My issues were resolved. But their facility and some staff are not so great.

He is sending me for a series of tests and wants everything done quickly due to my prior surgery. I do appreciate the concern for me and not rushing me in and out like so many doctors do nowadays. I asked if I could see the doctor first and complete the paperwork afterward, and she said no, paperwork first , and seemed annoyed that I even asked. Another male staff then interjected, "We are understaffed," condescending tone seemed unnecessary. Having three to four people at the front desk does not appear understaffed from a patient's perspective. Mistakes happen, but a little accountability and courtesy would go a long way instead of treating patients line they are the problem for asking reasonable questions after their time has been wasted. If I hadn't spoken up, I don't know how much longer I would have been waiting. And BTW the doctor did not even glance at the paperwork.
