They did not properly check my insurance plan and medical group. Now I just got denied by my insurance 9 months later. It looks like I'm going to being billed the full amount for my visit. The doctors were great but I'm baffled as to how the front desk failed to take care of checking my insurance in the first place. That's the first thing that needs to happen! I had discomfort in my eye and I knew it was a sty, I decided to visit this urgent care because it was closer to work and wanted to get some medication asap to reduce discomfort. Went in to get a simple prescription. I just received my bill in which they charged me for: Physician: $350 (understandable, physician barely took a look at me and didn't want to provide me with medication since "it would make my sty worst") Optometrist test: $10 I wasn't asked if I wanted to do this, they had made me walk out of my room and had me read a simple eye test. ‍ Facility Charge: $800 What!?! 800 dollars for walking in, filling some forms, sit down, stand up and walk into a room?!? This past year I visited 3 different urgent care locations and none of them charged me a "facility charge" even the ones in which I needed help and was better taken care of. If your "facility" has a fee, please inform your patients before hand. I will be reaching out to my insurance to review this fee/charge. This facility already charged my card but wanted all patients to be aware of this fee before thinking of heading there. read more

Took a friend of mine with an outbreak of a skin rash , the doc on duty told us he has scabies !! Prescribed him doses of meds .. without paying too much attention on what patient saying . Since he was Spanish speaking ... Patient is living with his family of 5 and not one of them showed infection of scabies or any other skin disorders for that matters . I supposed because he was uninsured, and he had to pay cash .. no attention was given to him . After 2 weeks of meds that were described .. nothing helped .. I helped him get to a dermatologist and they diagnosed it properly . Not scabies! More severe condition was diagnosed ! They urgent care did not give a hoot about treating him. Shameful If you need yo go to this urgent Med , please ask for dr Kevin .. not the other one . read more

I have been here before and years past they were very efficient and organized and could handle multiple patients in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the last two times I have been there, I have was forced to leave because I simply could not wait any longer to see someone. I was in there this morning (arrived at 8:00 a.m.) and to my eye, I was the only person there, I had to fill out several forms electronically (patients are now doing all the heavy lifting here) and then by 9:15 a.m. I was done waiting. I had waited one hour and 15 minutes and could not wait any longer. When I walked out, there were still no patients in the waiting area. The girl at the desk said they had four rooms full. Ok, I never saw one other person. Either they were seeing people after me or the statement was not true. I can't go back there again. It isn't worth it. read more

Went in with my son and was treated horribly by the staff. I speak Spanish and the bilingual staff was decent towards me but everyone else treated me disrespectfully. This facility had great COVID protocols. Had to wait outside until called on, only one patient a time in the front desk area. I was attended quickly. The facility was clean. All of the staff were friendly and professional. They have some med at the facility to fill your prescription. Its a one stop shop. I went in due to an ear infection, the next day I received a phone call from the office asking how I was feeling and I was able get my prescription. I had never gotten a call back from an urgent care center before. Overall, this is a great urgent care center. Highly recommend. read more

This was the second time I came to this urgent care facility and once again I had a really great experience! I'm kind of afraid too many people will find out about this treasure and somehow the center won't be able to keep up the services if too many people come! So I'm going against my selfish desire by writing this review. (If the owner of this amazing Urgent care is reading this I hope he or she will plan on how to deal with a huge intake of clients because I fear that if this place gets too popular there will be long waits which can totally turn a great experience (when one is feeling sick) to a negative one.) I had acute bronchitis twice in two months. When I arrived around lunchtime on a Friday, I was feeling pretty lousy and had a terrible chest cough, running nose and that sick feeling in my body. Within about five minutes or less, I was taken to a room where the doctors assistant (I can't recall the gentleman's name) came in and checked me out. Dr hill was not there at that moment so I met with the assistant and he was very attentive and professional. He saw from my file that I was there again with bronchitis symptoms and ordered a chest xray and prescribed some medication. I was taken to another room where a really nice xray technician named Gerson was there immediately ready to take my chest xray! This urgent care is unusual because they have an xray machine at their location!! Gerson told me my xray results would be evaluated by the doctor and I should get a call with the results on Monday. I expressed I had great anxiety because I was scared that the results would show something bad (I.e., the "C" word..). I am not good at waiting for test results when it comes to health matters. I always think "this is it". (As I believe Woody Allen once said, we are all one diagnosis away from a death sentence.) So needless to say I was quite worried! About an hour after I left, I received a call from the doctor telling me my chest xray results were normal! I almost had a heart attack when I saw the doctor's office was calling me so soon! I had just left an hour earlier! I'm sure Gerson, the nice xray technician, and saw how nervous I was about waiting until Monday for the test results and had my test reviewed right away! I was so relieved and he saved me from having an anxious weekend! I have had only great experiences at this Urgent Care. I will always come here when I have an urgent health issue and can't wait to get an appointment with my primary care doctor. This place has equipment like an xray machine that I've never seen another small neighborhood urgent care have. It's so convenient! Everyone including the front desk staff were nice and caring. I want to thank everyone that helped me! I highly recommend UrgentMD! The speed at which I was seen was so fast, and i greatly appreciated the positive attitude and professionalism of all the people I encountered during both visits. Went here for a PCR Covid test. . 36 hrs later I am still waiting for the results. I called and was told it could take up to 48 hrs. OR EVEN LONGER!!! They didn't mention this when I went in. Since you are supposed to take Paxlovid within 5 fays of developing symptoms I hope I don't die before I get the results. A complete waste of time. read more

I've been in bed for the past three and a half days with a severe sinus infection... this was going to be my second trip to the doctors (first time to UrgentMED). I was literally ready for the hospital at this point. I went close to closing time (7pm), they got me right into a room, started my vitals even before I was done with my paperwork, quick service, and they were all super nice and considerate! The doc came in checked my vitals again and gave me a few options, I opted for the shots and I thank god they started working overnight. Just as the doc said "you'll sleep good tonite, he was right! So I call the urgent care to do a Covid test and they told me that the charge for a rapid result was $125. I thought it was a little high but I was ok with it. I get there the following morning at 5:30 am. And wait 2 1/2 hours for them to tell me when I get to front that the price went up to $175 didn't have enough to cover that and asked if they can honor what they told me yesterday and their response was no. What a bunch of BS and thieves! And they were very rude to begin with. I hope you go out of business you greedy pieces of you know what!!! read more

Had to take a friend here. Won't ever go here again. Went in for an emergency illness, in the middle of the day (it was closer than the hospital). The main doctor(?) was rude, no bed-side manner. She and the other staff kept their distance from us, said to wear a mask, as they put on masks, saying: "... but don't worry. If you had [a specific disease] you'd be dead already." They told us to go to the emergency room. [We did - turns out my friend wasn't contagious.] And then ... they billed the insurance company $1000. This place seems like a real money-maker. read more

Came here with my son who had a bruised wrist on a Wednesday night around 5pm. It didn't seem crowded but we still didn't leave until we'll after 7pm. I would not recommend this place. Firstly, they over charged me. The office visit under my HMO was $30 but they charged me $40. When I inquired, they said that was the cost for an urgent care visit. That was not true. I should have gone to another place (but didn't) when they told me they didn't have an x-ray machine on site. If you suspect a fracture, save yourself the trouble and additional cost, and just go to a place with an x-ray machine. After waiting for an hour, we finally saw the doctor and was told the wrist likely was fractured so the doc recommended a wrist brace which is another $30. He still needs to get an x-ray. We then wait for some more time for them to complete the release forms. They recommended a sister location in DTLA with the machine. Next morning, instead of going there and likely will be asked to pay another co-pay, I decided to just go to the Optum Urgent Care on Fair Oaks which was a few blocks away where they do have an x-ray machine. Although I still had to pay the co-pay which was $30 (as noted on my insurance card), I felt the place was way more honest. The doc there confirmed that there is a fracture so my son's now has a splint. Bottom line, I would skip this place and go straight to Optum Urgent Care on Fair Oaks next time. read more

I have been coming to Urgent Med of Pasadena for several years but most recently to test on a regular basis for Covid (travel frequently)! I came to UrgentMED pasadena to do a Covid test just to be on the safe side because a baby in the family is on its way. My experience as soon as I got there till the very end was pleasant. We were welcomed by Jenny where she explained the process clearly and was kind. She made us laugh and made us feel comfortable while we waited to get tested. Also the X-ray tech/MA (I believe his name was Jose) was great as well while he checked our vitals and also made us feel comfortable! Overall a good and easy experience. read more

I walked in and someone greeted me right away took my insurance card and ID and someone took me to a room right away! They took my vitals and someone explained my insurance benefits after, they even offered me bottled water! I saw the dr and gave me a clear diagnosis of what I have and it's sinusitis. Came to Pasadena to visit family only to have to end up in UC. We were visiting family when my son started complaining on an ear ache, his pediatrician is over and hour away and it was Sunday. After a while of researching online and asking around we ended up here at the recomendation of my moms neighbor. From beginning to end everything seemed to run like a well oiled machine. We needed COVID rapid tests. It's not easy to figure out where to go for what test and when results will be delivered. UrgentMED explains in its website all the right info about its testing. Mikeyla, our nurse was superb explaining things and had a great touch -- the nasal test can be uncomfortable for some. It was not for me. It was for my husband, but Mikeyla got us through! No wait room so they tell you to wait outside. Outside?! If you are in need of some serious urgent care, don't come here. Who know's what triage scale they use and depending on the priority determined by [insert whoever they have in charge of this, hopefully not the receptionist, although seems probable] you could be met with a "Hangout outside in 90+ degree weather with minimal shade for 2 hours. Hope you're not planning to go back to your car or take shelter in the shops nearby because at any moment we can text you saying it's your time! Oh no you didn't make it back in time? Giving two stars because the staff was very nice and compassionate. Dr. Hill didn't look me in the eye while taking my history. I told him I had sex one time and that I had a good feeling I had BV because I had it before. He threw every antibiotic at the problem for all STDs before getting the results and told me I had to see a gynecologist to get better care. It induced unnecessary anxiety in me and my sexual partner. During the pelvic exam he was panicking in front of me about how he thought some of the fluids got on his scrubs. He only seemed to slow down and listen to my story when I told him I was a medical student. Even then his advice to me was that it will get worse (something I'm used to hearing, nothing new). I came there to be a patient, not a student, and felt very vulnerable and not well taken care of. The test results came back as BV by the way. read more

Took my mom in to get her hand look at at because she had a pretty bad cut. Was very lucky to be treated by Dr Julia Litman (hope I'm spelling her name correctly). She was absolutely amazing, caring, attentive, and all you can want or ask from a physician. She ended up giving my mom 6 stitches and we went back a few days later to have the stitches look at again to make sure everything was OK. And again she was just as great the second time.
