An error message I received when trying to contact the urgent care provider directly on their website. It did not work.

Hi I and my boyfriend came into the Pasadena office in severe pain and were informed 2 hours later that the X-ray tech was gone and there is no capability to implement blood work. I'm now being charged to be told to go to the hospital to be evaluated all over again when we both could have a serious or life threatening medical condition with delayed treatment. I do not agree with the 119 dollar payment I made just to be told by the doctor to go to the hospital. Also the website is not working so I was not able to contact them directly. The medical assistant said there is nothing else she can do.

Nice view from the room, very clean office. (Don't mind the paper I was sitting on that before the photo was taken).

This place is amazing! The staff is extremely kind and friendly, they treat you with respect. The entire office is clean and comfortable, and again the staff was just wonderful. I expected a wait to be seen but only spent about 5 minutes in the waiting room. They were very LGBTQ friendly and I received compliments on my rainbow cell phone case. The doctor was in to see me after only waiting five minutes. I will definitely be coming back here if I need urgent care again. I would give them more stars if I could!

The best. Ive been coming here for years and im still very happy with my experience here. I walked…read morein today (its a Monday today) at around 11am and there were only like 3 people in there with me (only 1 when I walked in then 2 or 3 more while i was waiting). I was scared it wouldnt be the same anymore for me when I switched out insurances to my EPO insurance with my job, but when I called they easily told me they accepted it without even having to run anything and when I got there the wait was extremely fast, the process was extremely simple, the place was extremely clean and with nice aesthetics, and Jessica the NP I saw this time prescribed me exactly what I hoped for and needed (she didnt just give me basic amoxicillin, she went above and beyond prescription-wise to cover whatever possible current bacterial sickness it was i have (bad cough for over a month now) by going a step above and prescribing augmentin and im extremely happy with that decision because 1) she actually looked at my history and asked me what autoimmune condition I have and when I told her one of them is sjrogens (yes I have multiple lifelong autoimmune conditions now induced from prior years of intense stress, I came out with several long term conditions that affect me ever since some intense periods of stress for several years from like 2016 and onwards) she said the augmentin would be less drying for me so I really appreciate that she looked at all angles and initiated taking this into consideration, and 2) it will cover much more strains than pure amoxicillin which will prevent me from taking an antibiotic that may not kill what I have and we all know that taking antibiotics that wont do what it needs to do causes a whole other bunch of unnecessary problems, so im glad she wasnt stingy/playing it too safe or basic with the prescription like how alot of other providers may be at times) and I quickly left with exactly what I needed. They also have Xray machines there in case you need any diagnostics like that and the only ones they dont do is XR skull ot XR abdomen. My copay only ended up being $15 and im so so so freaking glad I have a place i can still go to now for a great urgent care experience if I ever need to even after the stress of switching out of my insurance to another one, so im super relieved and appreciate Advanced Urgent Care of Pasadena so much. The girl that picked up the phone was super sweet (i love that she would call me Hun hahah and she was so helpful and nice, she also would initiate giving me important info that would prevent potential headache that could be avoided too like telling me that they would close earlier today at 3 because of memorial day which i appreciate), the guy at the front was also super nice, Oscar the XR tech who took my vitals was nice, and so was the other sweetheart who also escorted me out of the room (another nice girl, I think she had glasses on). I didn't even have to do anything for checkout. It was the fastest visit ever and I got 100% what I needed. When I walked out it was only like noon sharp but I will say that it got way busier between the time that I walked in at 11am till when I walked out at noon. The waiting room was about at least half full when I left, so im guessing maybe like 6+ people, but still looked quite manageable and like i said the place is so nice the wait just doesnt FEEL long even if it does end up being a little longer. They are fast, efficient, clean, the providers give you what you need, and most of all, they easily have accepted all my insurances even after switching to EPO. Went to the pharmacy after to pick up my med, super cheap, like $6 for the augmentin. Even cheaper than my prescription nasal spray !! Lol. Thank god for this place

I'm leaving this review based solely on my interaction with Nurse Practitioner Jessica Karaguezian…read more Our interaction lasted less than 10 minutes, during which I briefly shared my symptoms and simply requested two tests. In a condescending tone, she berated some of my personal history regarding my visit which felt highly uncalled for given she knows nothing about me and it was completely irrelevant to my visit. When I received the bill, she had submitted CPT code 99204, a high-level code designated for moderate complexity decision-making and typically associated with 45-59 minute visits. This seemed quite excessive for asking for two routine tests, nothing complex. To me, this felt like significant overbilling for a brief 10-minute visit. Using a code such as 99203 fit the description of the visit much better based on both complexity and time (but I guess lower codes don't charge as much). Had I not disputed it, I would have been stuck paying the difference from my copay. Thankfully, the billing department, who was beyond helpful, and the attending physician made it right and corrected the charge for me. Both of them deserve five stars. If I need to return, I will make sure to request anyone but Jessica.

This clinic caught my eye since it was close and the reviews were great. I called and confirmed they took my HMO card before scheduling a same day appointment. The person on the phone was nice and provided all the information i needed and confirmed my insurance will cover it free. I went to the facility and they greeted me walking in and sign in was a breeze. I did had to fill out a first time patient form but i skipped the SSN and explained to her since i have insurance i shouldn't require it so she helped me skip that and once i was done; i waited like 5 minutes and i was let in by a girl named Leslie who gave me my covid shot. My insurance had been…read moreused earlier the same morning without any issues, but by the afternoon they claimed they couldn't verify it. After half an hour, they told me I'd need to pay an extra consultation fee of about $100, which I found completely unreasonable. I told them I wouldn't pay that fee and decided to leave. The front desk staff didn't even look up at me or acknowledge what I said; they basically ignored me until I repeated that I was leaving. Only then did they say, "Oh, I heard you." The whole experience felt extremely rude, and I think their system is really flawed. It was a total waste of my time, especially since I rushed over during rush hour. I definitely won't be coming back and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else. Additionally, when I tried to book the appointment online, they required me to enter my Social Security number just to process the appointment. If I didn't provide it, the appointment couldn't be completed. That's very unusual, as many clinics don't ask for a Social Security number at all. When I called to ask them to remove it, they said they didn't even have it on file. Overall, this place was a waste of my time and I wouldn't trust them again. Let me respond firmly to the points you raised. First, when I booked my appointment online, I was required to upload my ID and my insurance card in advance. The entire purpose of that should have been to verify my information before I arrived. It makes no sense that after I got to your clinic, you then spent a large amount of time re-verifying what I had already provided. This shows that your front desk staff is unfamiliar with your own procedures. In fact, after she confirmed with your manager, she admitted all she needed was the policyholder's name and birthdate--something that should not have taken 20 minutes if she had been properly trained. If you require uploads of ID and insurance cards, then verification should happen before the patient arrives--not after. Second, the claim that your front desk thought I was on the phone is nonsense. I told her twice that I was leaving and she ignored me. The third time I asked if she heard me, she finally looked up and said, "I heard you." That means she was deliberately ignoring me all along. It's extremely rude and unprofessional to pretend not to hear a patient who is speaking directly to you. Third, it is now December. If it were January, I might understand a deductible. But by the end of the year, it's impossible that I would have a deductible left. I had just used my insurance that morning with no issue. Your system is clearly at fault here, not my insurance. Also, requiring a Social Security number just to make an appointment is not acceptable. You cannot force patients to provide an SSN just to book a visit. Finally, I will not be spending any more time clarifying these issues or responding further. I wrote this review so that others looking for a clinic can see my genuine experience and decide for themselves.

I made the mammogram appointment for the next day. When I showed up to the appointment they told me it had been canceled. I tried to make another one. They called me and said they canceled it. They kept canceling it because they said I was not in need of a mammogram at this stage of life. It took a while before I had figured out that they were calling. She had written down in my file that I did not need a mammogram until the age of 42, despite telling me in the office that I should not try for a baby until after I get a mammogram. She cost me a month of trying for a baby. I never received an apology for her massive mistake. She is also continuously late for telehealth appointments, and not exaggerating. The most disappointing part was that, according to the front desk, people after our reservation number had been put ahead of us, but no one apologized for the mistake or delay. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing due to a lack of organization and preparation. First, I was told I would have to go to another Carbon Health location for my TB test because they didn't have the necessary testing supplies. I was also told I would have to pay out of pocket, which made no sense since my pre-employment screening was being paid for by the organization hiring me. While waiting, I asked if I could complete my drug screen because I needed to use the restroom. The receptionist called upstairs, only to be told they also did not have the supplies needed for the drug test. I was then told I might need to make an appointment somewhere else. When I asked when they expected to have the supplies, the response was, "It could be a couple of days, maybe a couple of weeks." That is completely unacceptable for a facility offering pre-employment screenings, which often have strict deadlines. To make matters worse, I noticed the appointment display screen had changed my status from my scheduled 11:00 AM appointment to a walk-in at 12:00 PM--even though it was only 11:20 AM, and I had arrived before my scheduled appointment. When I questioned the receptionist, I never received a satisfactory explanation. When I asked for documentation explaining why they were unable to provide the scheduled services, management did not have the courtesy to speak with me directly. Instead, they instructed the receptionist to hand me a business card and tell me to have my new employer call them to discuss the reasons for the delay and inability to complete my pre-employment screening. I found this to be unprofessional and dismissive, especially given that I was the patient affected by the situation. This location lacks organization and seems unprepared to provide the services they advertise. If you don't have the essential supplies to perform basic pre-employment screenings, you shouldn't be scheduling appointments for them. Overall, this visit was a complete waste of my time, created unnecessary stress during an already time-sensitive hiring process, and reflected a lack of professionalism and accountability.

During my visit, the elevator was out of service and the computer systems appeared to be down, which seemed to create significant delays. Unfortunately, I was on a tight schedule, and there was very little communication about what was causing the wait or how long it would be. I want to be clear that this is not a criticism of the staff. Everyone I interacted with was kind, friendly, professional, and helpful. By the time I was finally called upstairs, I was probably on my last nerve due to the delays, but the staff handled the situation with patience and courtesy. Once I was called upstairs, the actual testing process moved quickly. However, I was asked to repeatedly sign forms and present my ID multiple times throughout the process, which felt redundant and unnecessarily time-consuming. From my perspective, there appear to be opportunities to streamline the workflow, reduce duplication, and improve the overall customer experience. I was also concerned to see a patient who appeared to have mobility challenges needing assistance to navigate two flights of stairs because the elevator was out of service. The staff were kind and helped her, but accessibility should be a priority at a healthcare facility. I've completed similar screenings through Kaiser multiple times a year and am usually in and out within minutes. By comparison, this experience felt far less efficient and more cumbersome than it needed to be. I'd suggest going with another provider in these situations. Again, my comments are directed at the location's operational workflow and processes--not the staff, who were courteous and professional throughout my visit.
