We are visiting from out of town and desperately needed a vet for our Havanese that could not stand or walk. A week earlier she had dental work done. We think possibly something happened after sedation that caused these issues. The staff and Dr went above and beyond our expectations to assure us what he thought the problem was. Unfortunately the problem would not get better and she was in a lot of pain. With the entire family together, we made the decision that Venus would be happy on the other side. The peaceful room was wonderful. Relaxing for Venus as well. No rush to get this over. They allowed us plenty of time for our final goodbye. The candy kiss jar was such a treat for her. We have had to use UrgentVet a couple of times for minor tummy upsets and things like that with our dogs. Recently, we had a fairly major event and had to use them for end of life services for one of our elderly dogs. I cannot say enough good things about how kind, compassionate, caring and patient the team at UrgentVet is. They have a room specifically designed for end of life services...it was quiet, comfortable and private. It was a very honorable space to say good-bye to our beloved dog that we had had for over 13 years. As difficult of a night that was for us, the team made it as comfortable as imaginable. I took our puppy to UrgentVet and they were wonderful. The wait was long but we understand and the vet tech was so kind and kept us updated throughout the process. My puppy had to have an uncomfortable test done in the other room and I overheard the staff cheering her on and telling her how good she was doing. They gave her lots of love and pets, which made a hard time for a sick puppy a bit more bearable. They explained what was going on with her in detail and provided thorough discharge instructions. They also call to check up on your pet after visits and have a second opinion guarantee where if you feel like they aren't getting better, you can bring them back and they won't charge you for a second exam. Hopefully we won't need to be back, but if we needed to we would definitely come back here highly recommend. read more

I took my chihuahua there Thursday night to be put to sleep after a bad seizure left her neurologically damaged. They were wonderful. Took us to a private place that was home like . Do not go here. This clinic had me book an appointment for my sick pet, only to tell me after I arrived that they had no doctor available and could not see my pet. Instead, they casually suggested I drive to their Lake Mary location to be seen there. This was completely unacceptable. I had already driven to this location with a sick animal, wasting valuable time when care was urgently needed. There was zero communication beforehand and no regard for the stress or urgency of the situation. This level of disorganization and lack of compassion is alarming for a veterinary practice. I took my Cat, Lola here on Friday night. They're open until 11pm. I booked a time slot online as mentioned in a previous review. Thank you for mentioning this!! Definitely a pro tip. It basically holds your pets place in line and allows you to wait at home until your time slot. It's not an appointment. I booked around 8pm and the next available time slot was 10:04pm. They notified me around 9:45 there was a slight delay but it went really quick. I appreciated the communication. This was such a great service as I had to bring my daughter with me and as we know kids are impatient. You have ti be buzzed in by ringing the doorbell. The lobby is so clean and smells fresh. Even my daughter commented on how clean it was. They provided refreshments in the lobby which was nice. Coffee, water soda and chips were available. Don't forget to check in at the kiosk. Shortly after we were called into a waiting room. The staff was so nice and treated Lola with care. She was very stressed and they even turned on low lighting to soothe her. Jeanie was amazing! She was so kind and funny. She made a difficult time easier and I really appreciate how she talked me through the treatment and recommendations. My goldendoodle is prone to ear infections. She goes from showing no symptoms to a raging ten within an hour. My "go to" animal hospital had a crazy long wait so a friend recommended UrgentVet. They offer a super convenient option of signing in online so that you can wait in the comfort of your own home. I requested to be notified 30 minutes before they were ready for me so I was pleased to get the text within 20 minutes of signing in. This place has the highest level of customer service that I have ever experienced at a veterinary clinic. My dog and I were both greeted when we walked through the door. Our male cat was suffering with what seemed to be a UTI and we called several hospitals that were busy, but all of them suggested UrgentVet. We scheduled a time in advance because they get busy as soon as they open at 3pm. The wait seems to be long so I suggest trying your best to book a slot on their website if you can! The whole staff was so friendly and attentive to us, even offered us drinks and snacks. They were also very gentle with our fur baby. We always expect to pay an arm and a leg for the vet and this was no exception. Our bill was very expensive but the staff was conscious of our budget and helped us bring down the cost significantly by only giving medication and basic needs- which I know can not work for every situation (x-rays are always expensive). It's always nerve wracking bringing your pet to a clinic, but I trust this place more than any other one I've been to! read more

Called regular vet at 4:30pm on a Friday and they couldn't get my girl in until Monday. They suggested 2 after hour clinics. I knew she had an ear infection and didn't want to wait 2 days for meds. One location I've heard is ridiculous in price so I called this one. Reasonable rates. Yes it's a bit higher than a regular vet visit but you pay more for a human urgent care so it's understandable that a vet urgent care costs more. Checked in online before I left my house & they I was lucky to get there and be able to be seen immediately. Added bonus I was able to stay with my dog which I can't do at her regular vet. Very nice staff. We were able to go from parking lot to discharged in 45 minutes. The visit, cultures, and 2 meds for under $200. I will recommend them to my neighbors for an urgent after hours location. read more

We had to take our dog to urgent care this weekend. It was already a stressful situation and this company and it's people did all they could to make us comfortable. I feel like they spoke for our dog. The doctor and nurse were so kind and gentle with our dog. Now that our dog is slowly on the path of recovery, it gives me a moment to be thankful to those that helped. The staff at Urgent Vet is at the top of my list (with my husband). We cannot express how grateful we are for taking care of our 14.5 yo golden doodle Langley in his final moments. We were travel nursing in Orlando and every vet was full when our buddy started to spiral. The vet was so kind in talking through options and helping us make the most difficult decision we have ever made. We received some of his hair and his paw print as well as a grief packet when we picked up his cremains. We so appreciate the nurse, tech, and dr so much in spending time with us, helping him pass in the most peaceful way, and in listening to us cry and tell stories. Warning Maggie was the worse kind of doctor I have ever dealt with I walked in there Saturday because my puppy had a hard time breathing Maggie said I should put my dog DOWN!!! She also said that my dog was having seizures and that it looked deformed!!!! Called for an appt at 7pm on a sat nite. They set an appt for me ,but were extremely busy . Kept informing me I was next ... I was there til 8 pm when they were closing before I got into a room . They started taking care of my pup after 8pm and weren't rushing me thru . Took time to evaluate and treat ...left probably at 830 pm . They called me later in the week to check on my dog ...told them it wasn't going as well as I had expected and they told me to come back in at my convenience. They took me immediately when I went back ..exchanged the cone of shame for the next size up and evaluated and treated again ...now all is ok and I got a call again just for the follow thru . Amazing staff...caring...drs are friendly and efficient . We received excellent, thorough care for my puppy from Dr. Duffy and her team on a Sunday morning in a prompt, timely manner. I felt his skin irritation under his neck from his post-neutering "cone of shame" was something that couldn't wait until Monday (or beyond), but that it was something that didn't quite need to be cared for by an emergency vet. So thankful that this option was available. I checked in online, arrived right on time, checked in on the kiosk was taken back quickly and got to wait in the room with my puppy until they took him back for some wound care. I was provided what I felt was a very reasonable estimate before care was provided. I was given clear instructions and medications for home, and everyone treated my pup and I with kindness and compassion. Even just hours later, the skin is starting to calm down, I feel much better, and so does my sweet boy (even if he left with some doubts about the place). I hope to never have to return, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others if needed. read more

I took my dog to Urgent Vet in Ocoee after traveling down to the emergency vet near the Florida Mall only to find it was closed due to COVID. The sign outside the Ocoee clinic said to call the phone number specified and wait in the car. I called the phone number and the gal checked me in online and told me all exams rooms were filled but as soon as a room was open they would call me to come in. AN HOUR later, I still hadn't been called even after 6-7 people came out. I tried to call them and the phone call wouldn't go through. I went in the door and wandered around and there was no one available to ask what was going on. About 15 minutes later, someone came to the door and I went up to her and said I tried to call and got no answer but that we had been waiting a long time. She said their internet was down and evidently it was affecting the phone service as well. They took us into a room and I explained the issue. The vet came in and I explained the issue again. She said she would order a shot for pain and give us a prescription. Then a gal came in and began taking all of the information again but the internet was still problematic. Meanwhile my dog is still in pain. They REFUSED to treat my dog until they could get me an account in their system and they had trouble doing that because of their internet. No paper back up system. I was furious. I was there over 2 hours and my dog suffered all that time. The pain meds finally kicked in about 30 minutes after we got home but I will NEVER go to this "Urgent" Vet clinic again. Inexcusable to make my dog suffer while they fiddled around with their electronics and internet. read more
