Called Uriel once for an estimate. He quoted me an absurd amount for trimming two medium sized trees, so I called Jimmie's Tree Service and was very happy with both their price and their work (see their ratings). After hiring Jimmie's several more times, I got rid of all of the trees on my property and their associated headaches. However, this -- and a sign on my door warning not to leave advertising flyers and business cards -- does not deter Uriel from doing just that repeatedly every 3 or 4 weeks. I had Uriel and his team cut down and remove stump of a Jacaranda tree in our front yard. It was huge. These guys were incredible and hard working. Pricing was great. This took place before the holidays. Today he came back because as I start working on a new design for the front yard we found a few more large roots. I explained to Uriel my plans and he and his team went beyond the scope to ensure no more roots would interfere with my design which includes cement formed pavers. We hired Uriel to spread small rocks over all of our back yard. He quoted us 350.00. We paid for 5 scoops of rocks. He showed up the first day with only 2 scoops of rocks. He had 2 other men with him. We expected the job to be finished that day. Uriel then told us he had to leave because he had another job. He came back a few days later with the other 3 scoops of rocks that were needed. We had paid him 200.00 on the first day he come which the the total price of the 5 scoops we needed. Also, 270.00 which was part of the 350.00 for the job. He came with the rest of the rocks days later and finished the job. When I went to hand him the 80.00 which would have been the balance of the 350.00, he demanded 400.00 More! He said he had to wait 2 hrs to load the rocks...which was a lie . I called the place on South Street and they told me he was in and out in 30 minutes. He said he had to come back twice. I told him he should have to finished the job the same day. I hired Uriel to fix and installed new sprinkler system for my backyard. He gave us a good deal after doing his walkthrough. During the duration of his work I've realized that Uriel doesn't really know how to work on sprinklers, he has one worker that knows how to work on it somehow but he doesn't speak english. The workers were rushing to finish and when i asked Uriel to run the sprinklers first before covering it with dirt, he got an attitude saying that they need to be at another location and i should trust his work. When he turned on the sprinklers water leakage everywhere because they did not sealed the connectors properly. When Uriel and his crew were about to leave he asked if i can give his worker 20bucks for fixing the issue. At this point i was about to explode but my wife calmed me down. After a week most of the pipes they installed started to have leakage and or not working well. I fixed the problem myself using you tube as my guide. So please i urge and warn people not to use Uriel services regardless of the cheap quote because at the end its not worth the headache and you ended up paying more. read more

Uriel gave very cheap quote (as indicated consistently by other reviewers) but if you hire them be prepared to supervise them closely the entire time. Uriel and his crew cut corners at every opportunity without checking with you. We hired them to cut down large tree ($500; very competitive pricing) with agreement they would leave all the wood for next door neighbor. The entire job took about 4 hours. A number of problems identified as outlined below: 1. Part-way through project (when I and neighbor were not paying close attention), Uriel took off in his truck - WITH MOST OF THE WOOD LOADED UP! 2. During the project, their housekeeping sucked! I noticed they were using brick work around the trees as "pedestals" for resting chain saws and gas cans as they were filling them. I didn't want to micro-manage and nit-pick (as I usually do on these projects) then noticed after they left there were numerous oil/gas stains on some of the bricks. Somewhat surprising not to have respect for people's property but one would think they would not trash the site of a first-time customer!! 3. Speaking of trash, after they packed up and left for good, my wife noticed a gator-aid bottle partly filled with water (still cold) that was tossed into the front bushes right in front of the house! Need to ask simply...why? Could they be that lazy and disrespectful?!! 4. Again, speaking of trash...right near the end of the project I noticed one of the workers walking past my kitchen window (side of the house) toward garage carrying their 50-gallon garbage can full of saw-dust debris. I walked out and found him dumping it into my large 110-gallon LB trash container...now completely full of their debris!!!! They never came to me asking permission. Wouldn't you think (unless it was discussed up front) that they would take all the debris with them?!! Fortunately, I spoke up and had them empty it out since it was another several days before trash day. Overall, they accomplished the task for the money but now had wished that I obtained several more quotes and checked out Yelp or Angie's List BEFOREHAND. I do not plan on using them again for any work. Bottom line...you get what you pay for as they saying goes, so if you need cheap, Uriel may always be low bid and just right for your budget but just be aware you may need to watch them like a hawk during the project. These guys are prompt, thorough, and price-competitive. I've used them twice and both times they sent an entire crew to get the job done quickly. They clean up any messes and left my banana trees and bougainvilleas looking great.
