I'm a member of a small (10 unit Homeowner's Association). Our irrigation system had been severely neglected for many years by our previous landscapers. Uriel came in, evaluated the entire system, sprinkler by sprinkler. He DOES NOT CUT CORNERS as everything must be perfect ! He replaced 13 sprinklers which were operating at less than perfect efficiency and 20+ nozzles from top of sprinklers which were clogged, etc. Most importantly, Uriel located 3 major pipe leaks due to 8" roots growing through them. He discussed with us the service we need and recommended some cut corners ideas to keep us within budget. This is transparent and both parties have to agree with this ideas before he start the job. Uriel has been taking care of our yard since 2001 and we're so lucky to work with someone with his skills and his integrity. Uriel came to our house on a Sunday to give us a quote on a small project in our backyard. The first thing he did was hand me his business card with his contractors license number on it. I appreciated this because so many are trying to do this without being licensed. He gave us a good price and he made some very good suggestions, things I hadn't thought of. I asked him when he could do the work and he said the following Saturday so he was hired. The following Saturday Uriel and his helper showed up by 8:30 in the morning they got right to work and they were finished by 1:30. They both worked even though it was pouring down rain. Uriel had some extra rocks and tan bark so he even filled in some of the front area where our rose bushes are. I would highly recommend Uriel for any of your landscaping projects! read more

When my design and his landscaping perspective didn't perfectly align, he would take the effort explaining to me the pros and cons. Once I made the final decision he would honor it. He gave me plenty of tips on how to maintain grass and trees in my backyard. He also offered to answer my questions when I have them in the future. Uriel is throrough, reliable, fairly priced, and a pleasure to work with. He installed a 3,500 square foot lawn for us, including all irrigation, and he was creative at solving all issues that naturally arise during major projects. Uriel installed an underground sprinkler system and a lawn in my front yard. He and his assistant did the work on two separate days. The first day they dug trenches and installed PVC schedule 40. The second day they prepared the soil, added compost and fertilizer, installed the rolls of sod, and used a roller filled with water to level the ground. Uriel and his partner did a fantastic job on my water district lawn conversion project this weekend. It came out exactly as he and I planned. I like that Uriel stays in touch, makes suggestions and checked with me every step of the way while they were working. He is very reliable too. Uriel came to my home to do an estimate for monthly gardening service. He was very abrupt, borderline rude. Rather than just give me an estimate for services he felt it was good business to make me feel bad because my yard was dead. I tried to explain that we were following Morgan Hill's mandatory water restrictions but he continued to argue. Then quoted me a ridiculously high price just to mow my lawn and acted like he was doing me a special favor. Since when is $150 for grass cutting a "deal"??? The teenage up the street just agreed to do it for $20 a week. read more

Uriel has manicured our lawn and garden since 1997 and prior to that year he was my mother's landscaper for many years. Because my mother thought so highly of him and I admired her yard, I decided to give him a try. I have never been disappointed! He is an excellent tree trimmer too (I understand that is how he started in business) and is willing to do any extra gardening tasks (for a minimal extra charge) when asked. He makes certain my lawn is green, fertilized and healthy and my garden is well manicured and free of pests. His work-ethic is fantastic. Always punctual and reliable; and his rates are very reasonable. It is a family-operated business, and Uriel is always on-site and working alongside his 1 to 2 assistants on a weekly basis. I have referred him to my daughter and to a girl friend. Now they both have used him for several years. I don't know what territory he covers, but I live in San Jose and he lives on Morgan Hill.
