But after a year, ground squirrels started to dig up our turf between us and our neighbors, and lift and ruin one of our dividers. We called up Miguel to see what he could do. Miguel was quick to respond and communicative, set up a time to give an assessment, and then set up a time to come do the work within a week. Miguel and his team ended up putting extra barriers under our fence to prevent the digging; this was the biggest effort/labor. And then re-lay the damaged turf and divider and made everything look like new. Great work, efficient, and I appreciated that his team worked independently. Really can't recommend them enough and had such a great experience working with Edgar and his small, experienced team. We requested multiple quotes from small and large landscaping companies before going with Edgar and Endless Summer. We chose Endleess Summer because Edgar was easy to work with, provided transparent pricing (and was one of the lower bids, approx $1,800 less than some of the larger companies that leverage subcontractors), worked up a contract and guaranteed the irrigation updates and sod for several months, and Edgar, the main contractor, either personally did the work or oversaw the work himself with his two longtime partners, which ensured everything we discussed was executed properly and timely. They are fully bonded and insured and beyond that basic requirement they always left the worksite extremely tidy at the end of each day which we appreciate, and cleaned the area thoroughly at the end of the job. The work was done in less than three days which involved turning three inches of soil, installing gopher wire, redoing some of our older pipes and valves, installing sod, new sprinkler heads, edging, weed cloth, drip lines and a few of our drought tolerant plants in the very front. Edgar also came back a few times to ensure everything was growing in well and provided detailed instructions to ensure the sod came in well, it's now been two months and everything is flourishing. As an added bonus, Edgar recommended a couple local nurseries we would have never found without his help, JC nurseries in particular, with locations in Gilroy and San Martin, is a wonderful gem with by far the healthiest decorative grasses and shrubs we've found and super competitive prices, offering free or low cost local delivery. Our kids and pup love our lush front lawn and the neighbors definitely appreciate the upgrade too. We will look forward to working with Edgar again when it's time to upgrade our property line fence and landscape the back! I, along with the wife was impressed by the quick response so we scheduled an estimate with Jacob for Wednesday. Jacob was very accommodating with my work schedule and actually came to my house by 8:00 am. Since Jacob was coming from Vallejo, I knew it was a long distance and he would have to leave very early in the morning, so again, we were impressed. My meeting with Jacob went very well. Since this was my first experience with artificial turf, I had a bunch of questions, which Jacob answered fully. It was also very helpful that he had several samples that I could see and feel. After getting my quote, which came in much lower than another company. We decided to go with Verdigrass due to the experience we had thus far with Jacob. Communication with Jacob was stellar, and he was able to schedule the job for Saturday morning. The material was dropped off on Friday, and Jacob's crew, headed by Juan, arrived at 0730 am, a half hour earlier than the 0800 am start Jacob had mentioned. We were so happy with the new driveway and front yard landscaping that Unique Pavers did last year…read more(below) that we hired them again! They completely transformed our backyard to include two patios surrounding a putting green, a low wall, pathways, and new landscaping with fruit trees and a hedge with drip irrigation. An extensive drainage system included french drains, area drains, and tying the downspouts directly into drains. This was important because water would pool in our backyard after heavy rains. We had high expectations because we knew what Unique Pavers did for our driveway and front yard, and they did not disappoint! Rick has amazing vision when it comes to designing spaces. Dan is a great project manager who was onsite nearly every day and has excellent communication skills. And the hardscape and landscape crews really know how to execute; they worked hard and worked together well. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to accommodate our detailed requests, moving a favorite plant, and waiting for a smart lighting controller to be shipped. This was also the first winter that I didn't have water seeping into our foundation and flooding, all thanks to the drainage work that Unique Pavers did at the same time as repaving. Of all the companies I got quotes from, Chris was the only one to ACTUALLY LISTEN to our vision. He asked questions, and gave valuable feedback to bring our idea to life. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND when he noticed the water damage and gave a very reasonable price to address it (in hindsight, this was such a huge value add that I hadn't even considered). He also project managed the coordination with my separate fencing contractor, which I really appreciated. He's timely, efficient, responsive, and extremely thorough. Construction has many unknowns, and it's the way the team handles things that leaves lasting impressions. When the team hit a water main (not their fault, the original was improperly placed), they immediately contacted a plumber to solve the problem within hours. When we had a rain delay, they kept us updated and managed to complete the project on schedule. I also appreciated that the team was not working over time, they took breaks, had a toilet, and seemed happy, which was great to see.
