I'm so surprised, to see negative reviews, here! I've been going to the center (for surgeries and…read morevarious treatments like botox, IPL, etc.) for 20 years! I've had eyelid (blepharoplasty), lower facelift, upper facelift, total facelift, earlobes made smaller.... I've never had anything but a positive experience AND results! Dr. Peterson and his staff are so nice, attentive, and good at their jobs. I guess that's why I keep coming back!

He shared his confidence that I did not need an encapsulation removal at the time the implants were removed because my scar tissue was very thin. Claimed it was a 1 hour, in office procedure, done with a local anesthetic, with little to no down time. I paid and scheduled. 2/13/20 Was my breast explant with Peterson and assistant Amberly. Under local anesthetic, began the explant while I was awake with no offered sedative. Draining each saline implant before the incision was placed under each breast. While struggling to grab the drained saline bag-mentioned there was scar tissue causing the struggle. I had a shooting nerve type pain that put my body into shock. Emotional fear and shock from the pain, left me sobbing and shaking while he continued his attempts inside my right breast. Peterson nor his assistant asked if I needed anything during the complications or if asked I was in pain, if they needed to stop or offered what my options were at this point. He continued to dig into my open left breast while I sobbed and he finally got the left implant bag removed through the incision after over 45 minutes of attempts on the left breast. He proceeded to the right side. My upper ribs and skin felt as if they were tearing and on fire once he got into the breast. My numbness had wore off. He said he would re-numb a second time and be back. I needed to use the restroom so a towel under my breasts that were open, covered me up with a gown and assisted me to the restroom. Peterson came back in, re-prepped me and began the attempt to remove the implant bag, again on the right breast. He proceeded to dig, press, and pull trying to get into the breast pocket and reach the implant with success, for 30 min. He claimed he didn't have long enough tools in the office to get the empty implant bag out of my breast and would come back to it in a few weeks. He stitched me up, and left the room with out after care instruction, except to come back in a few weeks. I was given no at home care instructions or offered any Tylenol, Ibuprofen for pain. 2/13 I called Pedersen's office with concerns of excruciating pain, extreme swelling and pressure in my right breast, and rib pain. I expressed my concerns to him and he let me know I could take Tylenol for the pain and that he would touch base with me after the weekend. He said we would most likely need to drain it the following week. 2/17 assistant Amberly communicated via text so she could send updates to Peterson, to his LV office they asked me to come on 2/18 to have it drained. He had his office billing manager assisting him. During the draining procedure, neither his office billing manager or Peterson were wearing gloves. There was a blood clot on the tip of the needle preventing it to drain into the dish as they removed it. He used his bare fingers to try and maneuver it off of the syringe so it would release the fluids. He then, re-insert the needle to suck more fluid from the breast. I expressed my concerns and that I would not be awake for the next procedure. I agreed on IV sedation to irrigate the pocket and remove the silicon bag on the right breast at the surgical center. additional cost break down for the procedure was given to me for the surgical center. 2/21appointment at the Saint George surgical Center. The implant was removed while I was under IV sedation. My discharge instructions were given to me from the surgical center with no pain medications. 2/22 fever of 104 and was achy, having a hard time breathing, coughing and experiencing extreme rib pain. He responded that it sounded like the flu and asked about the breast. The site began draining a lot of blood and fluid from the incision site. He told me to place pads to absorb draining, switch with ibuprofen and Tylenol and to keep him posted. 2/23 more drainage from the incision, unmanageable pain, shortness of breath and a fever. Peterson called me in an antibiotic. I began taking it and he told me to follow up on 2/27. My incision on the right breast had completely opened, leading me to wound care. I had a large hard mass under my skin that seemed to be getting larger, on the high part of my right breast/chest. I expressed my concern for mass and open wound. He was unsure of what it was and to come back in 2 weeks to have him look at it. Never agreed it was infected, regardless of open wound and fowl yellow discharge. I didn't go back. He was rushed, unprepared with surgical tools, inexperienced, lack of interest as a patient. I received second opinions about my nerve pain, physical therapy, massages, as well as holistic healing to move forward in my healing and recovery. Once my treatment was completed elsewhere, my legal representation notified Peterson of his negligence, requesting refund on all amounts paid to him and my aftercare. He ignored.

just now While the medical care from the staff was solid,…read morethey lost three stars for what had occurred during my procedure. I was having very intricate, delicate surgery on my eye, to repair a macular hole, and additional laser repaid my retina. I don't mind saying that I was very stressed. I was given an "eye block"; I was knocked out, the "block" was administered to my optic nerve, then I was brought out of the anesthesia. This removed all pain, and kept me awake for the surgery. While the surgery was being performed, the surgical staff engaged in a conversation about Utah's new Covid-19 Mask Mandate from the Governor. Now, I am 63 years old, and part of the "pre-existing conditions group", making me more susceptible to the virus, more susceptible to illness and/or death. I was stunned to hear members of the surgical team saying that they were against the mandate, and thought that the hype was overblown! The surgeon, whom I hold blameless, as these were not his employees, said to the staff "I can't believe that you guys feel this way, after everything that's happened..." That's when I chimed in, saying "This is ridiculous! Wearing a mask hurts no one! And, regardless of your political beliefs, I would think that everyone would want to wear one, just to decrease the chance of spreading! This is just like the motorcycle helmet law argument of the 1970's, where riders would say "It's my life, you can't tell me what to do! Only in THIS case, your actions can permanently change the lives of many others!" You could have heard a pin drop. The conversation was over. My anxiety went through the roof, along with my blood pressure. Here was a group of "medical professionals" announcing to the world that they didn't believe what their peers, EXPERTS in the field, were saying, and gambling with MY LIFE, in the process! This was irresponsible, arrogant, upsetting and callous! They have no right to take their patients' lives in their hands, while doctors and nurses the world over are trying to keep their heads above water! How dare they??? Regardless of one's political beliefs, this was no place to have this conversation. And, in my opinion, these detractors of the mandate do not belong in an operating room, PERIOD! So, as I said, it appeared that they administered proper medical care, from a technical standpoint, but failed miserably with their bedside manner! Shameful!

They intake process was great, all the nurses were so nice but after my surgery I went into the recovery area to come wake up from being under and I was taking longer then expected. I was completely out of it, and the nurse kept waking me up and getting my dressed which would be ok besides I was falling over and collapsing. She did not seem concerned and rushed me out up my car where I passed out multiple times and my mom who is a very petite lady had to catch me and steady me before I hit the ground. Luckily I was able to get in the car without any serious fall but looking back I am so annoyed that the nurse was more worried about getting me out of the center quickly then making sure I could safely get into my vehicle. It's not like I was just being lazy I straight up could not help it. If you are planning on getting surgery done here, I would recommend that you have someone there to advocate for you at pick up time to make sure that it is safe for you to leave.

Just about everybody in that office has taken a stab at my left eye and I'm grateful for who they are and that they were there and available to help me! Sometimes life just happens!! Thank you to , Dr Richens, Shakoor and Talbot. Rockstars!!!

Probably one of the top three worst experiences I've ever had as a patient…read more While under , the care of this clinic, there was a series of 5 to 6 doctors who rotated through, no consistency or continuity and care(my experience), specifically not having the medication on hand almost every time and always having to check instead of the week before and the day of being prepared ...and constantly having to go to different meds and samples- Billing is the absolute nightmare you read about in other reviews no communication, rude behavior, totally unprofessional and needs to be cleaned up immediately. They constantly threaten you with collections yet the billing is consistently wrong and completely erratic in the first place. My vision actually got worse for an extended period of time due to their erratic reporting or review in the EHR, one Dr told me that one of the meds was superior while the other reported another. Needless to say, somebody in accounting, specifically told me that Vyvismo was the superior med, Keeping in mind. This is the accountant who's completely incompetent giving me medical advice.-hopefully she'll get hers from licensing. These issues were never addressed directly. On several occasions, I was rushed out of the office post shot having to return a few minutes later due to excessive pressure that turned out to be extremely dangerous and they had to do counter measures-very stressful.. If I had I not come back I wonder if my eye would have been incapacitated. Needless to say, that staff needs further training, and one raised her voice at me in the dark when I had to sit in a broken chair in front of an outdated machine, trying to get a scan for my peripheral vision, only to have her scream at me when I had to move due to the chair breaking. She yelled "that is one strike" she screamed at me in the dark "stop moving" . I surmise that she's so used to working with elderly folks that she thinks she needs to yell harshly at the patients. if I had a parent or grandparent go in there, I would immediately stop that from occurring. David R., her husband, and supposedly the acting manager of the clinic, is somebody I reached out to at first, was somewhat responsive, but once he realized there were issues with the service, he disappeared, and never returned a single message- Where else in any other practice or Business can you get away with such behavior? It really feels like gross negligence in my opinion. Do. No Harm. conversely, my experiences at Southern retinal Associates has been of the utmost quality nothing even resembling these behaviors I've experienced at Richens. They also like to send out incorrect bills or what I referred to as "fake bills", demanding over $3000 on Friday night or over the weekend, this happened multiple times. For those unfixed incomes I imagine this would be extremely stressful and something you would definitely want to avoid-I've seen other reviews that they are actively ignored if they bring up billing concerns, quite unprofessional. Caring about your patience, cost nothing and I'm not sure what in the hell is going on there, but it is wrong and I experienced it firsthand. To my greatest dismay and disgust, finally became somewhat of a target when they messed up the pre-authorization for my eye shot, and then subsequently refused to rebill it, impacting my deductible process as well as my coverage, and then months later I find that it was re- billed , probably so they could make additional profit and now I'm going to be waiting on a check from them as they first refused to re-bill it at all, and then demanded close to $300 plus from me which I had to pay as I know they threaten collections. Hopefully they just take care of it without further ethical concerns. I regretted not changing years earlier, This is my experience and opinion. It's my experience and in my opinion they had the opportunity to make things right and meet the standard of care and the continuity of care that I required.. Over the period of those months when I reached out, they , failed me at the highest level. Again, just my opinion, but if you choose to go that route, just know you've been informed. Creating fear in your patient (me) and doing harm to them by providing inadequate care (across the board) with no follow up or communication-It's a travesty-in my experience. They're clearly an organization that has learned nothing, does not care about reviews and values money over my care. A big disappointment.
