This review is for Dr. Desai at BSW Grapevine who did my epidural on January 18, 2019. I'm not kidding, doing the epidural was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. If you're debating doing it or not for your labor / delivery, DO IT. Dr. Desai was worth every dollar. He was patient, understanding, professional, and on point with the procedure. I couldn't have asked for a better anesthesiologist. Dr. Desai, if you see this, THANK YOU. You made my labor and delivery a million times better. Because all the reviews are regarding the billing, I should also address the fact that I had an absolutely normal and uneventful payment. I got the paper bill. Paid it online. And that was it. Nothing complicated about it. Everything went simply, as expected. If you get Dr. Desai, he is so worth it. Your epidural will be seamless. read more

Awful. I was charged $6300 for 90 minutes of anesthesia. I contacted my insurance company and they only paid $800 (that's another problem!!). But tell me why 90 minutes of anesthesia should cost so much in the first place? I called them and they blamed my insurance company. Make sure your surgeon does not use these people. I understand I don't have great insurance but try to explain why this should cost me $5500 out of pocket, and explain why it should cost as much as it does. read more

I underwent a routine colonoscopy recently. My insurance coverage covers every aspect of it. The costs incurred by the facility as well as that of the doctor who undertook the colonoscopy were handled through my coverage just fine. However, today I received a text from USAP attempting to bill me directly for costs associated with the anesthesia. The text indicated that they allegedly do not have insurance information on me. So, I called them, the agent apologized and said she didn't understand why it said that as it appeared that they had my insurance information. Placing me on hold for a couple of minutes, she then comes back on to tell me it appears to be a coordination of benefits issue and that I needed to contact my insurers to clear up and then come back to USAP with a reference number. I then let her know that both the facility and doctor had no problem getting paid so why is USAP unable to do so in kind and how is a "coordination of benefits" issue my issue and not theirs to clear up with my insurers. She then basically tells me that its not something they clear up, the task is on me. What a crock! read more

I noticed that someone is reaching out on all negative reviews asking that USAP be contacted via email in hopes that we can get a resolution in the situation. However, I emailed them last week with a very long, thoughtful and thorough email about the issues and I have yet to hear anything at all back yet. I'm guessing I probably won't. read more

Edit: They were quick to reply to my Yelp review in a public way, but have yet to respond to my e-mail to the address they provided. Maybe they don't have as much concern as their e-mail bot attempts to convey. Watch them for the multiple-billing. They will not tell you that they are submitting multiple claims to insurance which will result in the patient having to pay multiple co-pays. Despite later telling us that the co-pay should have been split between the providers, they refused to make any changes in their billing, so we had to pay it all. read more

Please do not use this business for your anesthesia needs. They will overbill and overcharge you. I was promised that only one provider would be involved in my case and that I would be billed for just one. However, I am now being billed for multiple providers. I requested a call from upper leadership, but nothing has happened. They clearly do not care about patient satisfaction or billing transparency. read more

these greedy scum will bombard you with infinite unpayable bills using paper mail spamming your mailbox, different phone numbers calling day and night, and harass you in every corner with threats. the anesthesia job itself was terrible and they were very rude, even asked me where I was from and then in the middle when I was explaining, he turned on the anesthesia and i didnt even complete my sentence and fell asleep. No countdown no warning, just an angry rushed face. Anyway, I am still being sent these surprise bills that I have paid in full, what, 5times already? every few months they decide: "surprise mothaf-er" and send me new bills!! get better scamming the sick. Resolution of billing issues that are in error is near impossible. Documents from insurers specifically showing payment were refuted.

During the Aug 2024 surgery, the care was OK. The Anesthesiologist was thoughtful, kind and personable. The billing problems started after the surgery was over. I NEVER once received a written statement of charges and insurance payments, even though I asked representatives for that many times. At one point, the amount they told me that I owed matched my Explanation of Benefits. When I went online to pay the bill, they offered a 6 month payment plan and I signed up for that. I made 2 of 6 payments, then the next time I logged in my balance was zero. I called and the representative told me that my insurance had been reprocessed and they owed me a refund. She said they would calculate the refund and send me a check. I never received a refund. Months later, I started getting emails, texts and calls from US Anesthesia Partners again telling me that I owed them money. I told them, that if I owed them money, then they shouldn't have cancelled my payment plan and they should send me a statement with a list charges and credits (never received). Also, I needed to have this bill settled by April 15 to get reimbursed from my HRA... why do I have a new bill 7 months after surgery? Talk about surprise billing? They continue to harass me by phone, text and email. I've had to block them from my phone. Their billing practices are just ridiculous. Avoid using them if you can. read more

The services were perfect--I went to sleep and woke up. Apparently I was overbilled and the refunds are issued in debit cards rather than checks or deposits. I paid with check and expect that as payment back. It is extremely presumptuous to pay me in something other than what I paid. The debit cards should be easy to use but are not. When I called US Anesthesia about getting a check rather than the card, I was directed to the bank issuing the card. read more

If you ever have a procedure, just do yourself a favor and ask your medical provider not to work with these clowns. I was billed nearly two years after a surgery for anesthesia services from USAP, even though I had already met my out-of-pocket maximum. While both me and the insurance company had multiple communications about the charge being under active review and we asked USAP to pause the billing while it is being reprocessed. However, USAP kept billing me for a couple months, and without a final notice of warning, sent my bill to a collection agency. I attempted to formally communicate with USAP recently, but it did not responded and has not recalled the account from collections. The collections agency was even informed by my insurance and HR department that the claim is under reprocessing. As the one that sent my bill to collection, USAP should be able to recall it too, and yet it remains silent. Very disappointed by the lack of transparency and patient support. I've made every effort to resolve this properly but have received no help. read more

Customer service phone call, someone from their office called me back to help me with a question about paying my bill online. She said you cannot do that, you will have to pay through me. I know for a fact that I can pay online I just needed help to access my account; otherwise, that defeats the purpose to "pay my bill" on the USAP website. I know the agent lied to me because she wanted to gain credit for obtaining my payment. She also tried to claim more monies from me for a dual procedure but noticed that the other procedure was being filed through insurance. My account is paid in full, I just need folks to be aware you can pay online vs the inconvenience for a phone call. read more

The anesthetist was great. The billing, not. Hit with a bill for twice as much as expected and can't get anyone to respond.

I have contacted the escalation desk and no response. I am still get daily harassing texts and the run around about the are unable to submit to Medicare due not having COB. Why were the hospital and the doctor and the hospital able to bill Medicare for the same procedure and get paid? Avoid this company at all costs!!!! Anesthesia partners failed to get secondary insurance at time of surgery. Received bills and called seven times, three of which I gave them the secondary insurance info. to refile. Each time they showed records that I called but no secondary insurance on file. After there repeated mistakes, they sent me to collections!!!! They are terrible! read more

Beware of this company. They refuse to reissue a refund check to my late father's estate (to replace a check sent after his passing). My surgery was 6/26/2024 and UHC has yet to receive the bill. USAP said it was sent weeks ago. I can't monitor my account because the system won't let me create one with my account number. I call USAP weekly and will continue u til UHC has received some correspondence from them. I'm expecting to go to collections for this procedure. The other surgery claims processed weeks ago, so I know USAP is lying about sending in the claim. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I disputed my bill due to what I believed was the wrong provider on my statement. I was initially told that they would re-bill me with correct information. That never happened and I got sent to collections. Finally someone explained that I was billed because the provider signed his name on my chart even though he wasn't the provider that did the service. After talking to the hospital, they said I am required to pay him since he signed his name on my chart. This feels so corrupt. I plan to avoid using US Anesthesia providers in the future due to their lack of straightforward billing and processes. read more

Typical anesthesia group. Bill was $1275 for one surgery 8/30/22. I didn't get a bill until an email showed up at the end of December that I owed the bill by 1/15/22 or it will go to collections. Of course they never send the bill to my insurance company for utilization review (bill reduction) thinking I'd just pay them out of fear of the collection agency. Well, I have insurance and my deductible was already met. So they are just trying to strong arm me to pay the full bill rather than the reduced bill from the insurance company. Someone should take their license away. Disgusting. read more

These people are organized crime. They charge twice as much as other anesthesia providers. My wife and I who by the way are on fixed income have tryed to pay the bill for this company. We suffered huge financial losses due to covid. They wanted a monthly payment more than we could afford. I was paying them 50.00 a month but accidently missed one payment and when I went in and tried to pay it they had already turned the bill over to collections. Very sorry people. Horrible. read more

I received a bill for $2000 and paid it but then discovered they somehow didn't have my health insurance information (though it was provided in my chart). I requested that they reject my payment and bill my insurance. they did bill my insurance and received payment in full 3 weeks later. But they somehow cannot return my money. it has been 3 months, I have requested it 3 times. Hey keep saying they see my request, it's in process, I can call back in a few weeks if I want to check on progress.... and if I do ever receive payment it will be in the form of a VISA. Why in the world? That's not how I paid them! Guessing that I am not the only one this is happening to. They need to be investigated for sure. read more

The MD was good. However, the one star goes to billing. When I did not receive a bill either in the mail or on my chart, I called to find out what I owed. The person on the phone rold me the computer system was down and I should be receiving a bill. I never received one. Not sure why I need to spend my time and energy when trying to hunt down a bill. I was considering calling them again when I received a text message saying my bill was past due. Really, I never received one to start with. I promplty paid the overdue payment and gave them a bad review on their billing. I noticed the next day I finally received an email. More than a week after paying the bill, I received a paper bill in the mail saying past due. Really, so I started googling and found the system is down is a common complaint. They have so many complaints the BBB can't even post them all. You guys can do better!!! read more

Made me very sick and they completely overcharge. They want more money for anesthesia then my surgeon for performing the surgery. I feel like because they don't have to preapprove costs they think the cab charge whatever I will now require a quote and interview with anesthesiologist for future surgery's. Do not use this company, if you can help it. Their billing department is deplorable. I fought with them for over 6 months about a payment that I had made, but when they did their 'review' a determination was made not to refund me. I swore never to use them again. Fast forward a year and my hubby has surgery. Little did I know, this company did his anesthesia. They literally just called my husband and yelled at him about missed payments. We NEVER received a bill from them!!!! I keep records of everything, because of past issues. I said 'Please send me a bill, I will not pay over the phone for something I can not verify!'....well now a mythical bill has gone to collections. Honestly, I'd rather deal with collections. Not sure why my son's endoscopy required two anesthesiologists. Regardless, I paid the bill for two anesthesiologists (perhaps one in training?) and in a timely manner - prior to the due date. the complaints is you start getting phone calls up to two weeks prior to the due date about making payment. Then when payment is made in full prior to the due date, you continue getting calls. As a self employed, contractor and hourly worker, do not have time to continue responding to these erroneous voicemails. Billing should not be harassing with calls if due date has not passed and then the automated service should mention that if you paid within last 5 business days, ignore the call. Takes 5 business days to process a payment...really? read more

I went in on a Tuesday for an anterior /posterior discectomy and fusion of C7-T1. To complicate matters this was my 7th neck surgery and I have had 5 lumbar procedures as well. The biggest concern going in from my surgeon;s stand oint was going to be scar tissue and how much it could potentially affect the outcome . With the previous 11 surgeries other than some very mild post op nausea I had never had any anesthesia complications. I am a healthly 50 year old male, and other than the the extensive spine history only suffer from mild hypertension well controlled with meds. The anterior portion of my surgery on Tuesday last about 2.5 hours at which time the turn you to a prone position for the posterior portion of thr csse. They typically pay very close attention to patient response in this position as simetimes it isnt well tolerated. This is for many reasons, but most importantly patients can be harder to ventilate in the prone position. During my surgery it was noted that my oxygen rquirements had almost doubled after being made prone.......require 90% FiO2 at the end of the case to adequately ventilate. It was also noted that I had a positive fluid balance from start until end of the anethesia provided to me. Well, concern finally began to grow as they lost the ability to get a good pleth wave for my pulse oximetry. For this reason, luckily an arterial line had previously placed by this anesthesia person and an ABG was performed. Oxygen satration at the time he ABG was drawn was 69%. At theis point, due to the hypoxia and the concern for a potential difficult airway following the anterior/posterior neck procedure and accompanying post op swelling, the decision was made to leave be intubated nad have me admitted to the ICU. Upon transfer to the ICU, my care was assumed by the intensivist on the hospital's critical care team assumes the role of managing the patient.. It should be noted that as a patient having surgery at the particular hospital that I did, the anesthesia provider was assigned to me, not chosen by me or by my surgeon. I didi not receive any call the bight before which is fairly standard which was unfortunate because I had a lot of questions. My wife was never notified by this anesthesia provider, as he stated he would do in the preoperative holding area, at the completion of the case. Unfortunately, the ball was fumbled here by all parties involved as my wife was never notified by anyone that I had been take to the ICU. Luckily she questioned the length of time which I should have been in the OR and was persistent in getting an answer, unfortunately this was 2,5 hours after I had been taken to the ICU. I was placed on a ventilator where I would remain until Friday (post op day 3) when I was finally extubated when the swelling and agitation had subsided enough. However, not without consequences. I have vocal chords that are stunned and not working after only 4 days on the ET tube. Obvious sore throat and outh from extended length of intubation. I was hallucinating horrible as the result of a ketamine infusion that was running too fast. In fact at this point I was on 11 different drips to keep me sedated and manage my blood pressure and pain. I have no idea the exact number, but a 5 day stay in the ICU versus one 1-2 night on the normal spine floor which was the initial plan cost wise has to be an astronomical difference, Now, I cant fall asleep without meds to help and most sleeps have ended when I have been awakened by a nightmare or flash back from my days in the ICU. I am waiting to start therapy or counseling to see if can help to get past some of these mental road blocks. Now, I am an RN with 20+ years of experience and my belief is that had anesthesia been a little more on top of their game I probably avoid the ICU and end up in PACU like 95% of the ptetients at this particular hospital. I am awaiting the Anesthesia Record from the my actual surgery. I intend to sit down and go through it line for line and number for number. If it doesnt add up or make sense then Ill do the same with my family doc. Finally, there is no way humanly possible that I would end u staying on the ventilator for more than 96 hours following a prety routine neck surgery and was never really given any explanation for what happened in the OR that caused the epic oxygen drop. That might be because NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON FROM USA-P ANESTHESIA CAME TO CHECK ON ME AFTER DROPPING ME OFF ON DAY OF ADMISSION. No call to my wife to answer questions or explain what happened. No after extubation visit to check on patient and tolerance of ET tube and ventilation over last 4 days. Non existent, thats what my anesthesia provider was after my surgery and the next 96 hours.......NON EXISTENT. This is unacceptable and unprofessional on so many levels, But to not notify family, to not check on the patent in following days after surgery, shows a complete lack of caring what so ever!!!!!!! read more

The person who did the anesthesia was rude and the total time was about an hour , he was rude post anesthesia making comments on my weight and my diabetes, why is he even discussing this in front of other people when hes nor a pcp or internist, he was just there to do the sedation. The bill for his service was one hour long 1200 dollars and since i received their post insurance bill 4 days ago ive been contacted three times through text and 2 times through email and one call to settle a roughly 100 dollar charge which i have three weeks to pay. I wouldnt choose this group again neither for its providers nor for its methods of collection. I couldnt rate them any lower otherwise i would. read more

I've had 2 surgeries in the last 5 months and both of the doctors were excellent - explaining things in advance, patient care, etc. But their business department should get a Minus # if possible. Both times they started reminding me that I hadn't paid my bill before I even GOT THE BILL. I had at least 2 - 3 reminders, one saying final notice, before I even got the bill. read more

Not a good billing process. I would choose any other anesthesia group at this point to avoid the pain and hassle of billing.

I was not notified that my anesthesia coverage was out of network despite my inpatient surgery being in network, so I've been sent multiple bills for charges that don't pass a gut check by far exceeding anything reasonable and putting me well over my out of pocket maximum. I've sent emails with minimal response about it, and just through independent research found out about the break between USAP and UHC. Very frustrating; it blows my mind that Americans aren't in the streets rioting about how broken our health care system is. read more

Had a surgery in November 2021, all went well. Anesthesiologist was reassuring and seemed knowledgeable. Good experience with Patient Advocacy (Marivel Vargas) in getting financial assistance. I received the paperwork quickly and it was processed quickly as well. read more

Terrible billing system. They harrass you for payment even though you have paid and your check has cleared. Need to have a better system. THEY HOUND YOU FOR PAYMENT. If I ever have another surgery I am going to not pay them for a month and let them call, text and email me for payment for fun. HORRIBLE!!! worst experience ever. Don't do surgery if US Anesthesia Partners is in charge of anesthesia. I had a surgery in December. Day before the surgery the US Anesthesia Partners contacted me that they have a dispute going on with United Healthcare, but I do not need to be worried, because they have almost solved the issue and they will submit an appeal on behalf of their patients to UHC. Long story short, after 5 months follow up with them, and doing lots of paper works and phone calls, I still receive thousand of dollars bills from them. Today I found out that they have never submitted any appeal to UHC and they just pretend that UHC rejected the appeals. unbelievable! read more
