Dr Bell was the anesthesiologist. He some how broke both my two front teeth off. One tooth has nothing but a little stump of it left, not enough to attach a crown nor build a composite so I'll need an implant. I have almost half of the other tooth left and it is very sharp and jagged. I can't tell you how many I've bitten my lip and I've pierced my tongue more times a heavy metal band. My surgery was on May 10th, 2021. I have repeatedly attempted to contact him to no avail. I've gotten nothing but the total run around. I have no idea how this happened but, I assume it was an accident. But, to dismiss me and duck my calls rather than own up to his mistake is unconscionable. To make me endure the pain, frustration and embarrassment of looking like a damn hillbilly is unforgivable. The cost of repairing or replacing my teeth is going to cost more than the surgery. If busting someone's front teeth out isn't malpractice, I don't know what is. This dude should have his license yanked and someone should knock his front teeth out. Got a phone call from Cheryl B. today to get some information for my upcoming procedure (C4/5 C5/6 discectomy and fusion) and to explain the charges, confirm the surgery date and collect payment. She was so kind and courteous and most of all, helpful. I was mobile at the time and asked if they took Care Credit. She said yes and was able to look up my account info, complete the charges and send me details on the transaction. I complimented her on the call, thanked her and asked for a supervisor. I got to talk to Jessica who was just as kind and courteous as I shared my experience with Cheryl with her. When speaking to both of them, I could hear the smiles in their voices and of all the interactions I've had re: my surgery, this was the most pleasant! 5 stars!!! read more

I was told by USAP that they would not file with my insurance provider, and was offered a reduced amount if I would pay up front for my daughter's procedure. They had me over a barrel, either pay over $4,000 later or $2,000 now and file with my insurance myself. I paid the $2,000 and then found out that USAP did file with my insurance, who negotiated the charge down to $459. When I contacted USAP to find out why I was lied to, they first called and said they would look into refunding my overpayment, but after much run around, they now say too damn bad. FRAUD ALERT. This Co. ADDED $500 to the copay on my bill, claimed they had received an EOB from my insurer in that amount and refused to adjust the bill to the contract amount. They refused to send me a copy of the (fictitious) EOB. I called the insurer who confirmed they had never sent such an EOB. After the insurer called the billing co. on my behalf, I received a corrected bill but no further communication or explanation. Looking at all the other comments, It's clear They are a mix that includes the great majority of reviews which reflect experiences like mine and what appear to be a few fake 5 star reviews. I left my review 5/4/21. I do not see any way to edit it or add to it, so I am writing this. While reading the reviews I also read the responses from the business owner. In those responses we are asked to contact them at email address EscalationsDesk@usap.com or by phone at 1-877-361-1809. Today they responded to my review on here with the same type of response. I have written four emails to this email address and they all have been immediately returned as undeliverable. I sent emails through a yahoo account and a gmail account and all were flagged as undeliverable. These incompetents don't even have the ability to provide a working email in their response to horrible reviews. It is after business hours so I have not tried calling yet. That will undoubtedly be another terrible experience. I cannot stress enough, DO NOT ACCEPT MEDICAL PROCEDURES WHICH INCLUDE U.S. ANESTHESIA PARTNERS AS A PROVIDER OF SERVICE. You will regret it. We had a procedure done for our child almost a year ago, and because they failed to contact insurance agency before the procedure, they have been falsely sending us bills that even the insurance company says we should not be getting. Then, even after the insurance company has told them to submit for payment, they sent our bill to collection. I spoke with a representative today who requested that I email proof that payment had cleared our bank account. Stay away from this company if possible. Were told the day of the surgery the procedure would be $600 and to bring payment that day. When we got there they said we had to call in the payment but nobody answered the phones or returned our calls. Once we explained this to the doctor he said just bring a check after the procedure for the full amount of $600. We brought he payment and they would not accept it and said they would then bill us. The bill came in twice the amount stated with NO explanation. We called in and were told the Doctor didn't have the authority to tell us the amount due and they would make the correction if approved. 2 months later and nobody will return our calls and they continue to bill for the inflated amount still with no explanation. Surgery went well, the anesthesiologist William Todd did a phenomenal job. Let me be clear that I'm giving William a 5 star review for professionalism, compassion, and quality of care. That said, the billing department is awful, and the head of the billing department needs to be made aware that they're terrible at running the department. How does it take you all 6 months after surgery to send a bill when 5 of the other directly related bills came in faster than 2 months? 6 months to send a bill, even with a more elaborate texting/emailing system is terrible and feels completely illegitimate. I'm glad I was able to see the charge in my insurance, otherwise it felt like the bill was a scam. The whole US billing system is ridiculous as it is, please get your stuff together. read more

If I had the option to pick a different anesthesiologist, I would have. Though, the doctor was great, the insurance billing and customer service was horrific. Though the procedure was 100% covered by my insurance, they incorrectly filed their claim. It wasn't denied, it was just sent back to properly code. 3 months later, I still got a bill. The claim is clearly provider responsibility, and not to be sent to patient. I was threatened with collections, lied to, and hung up on multiple times. When myself and my insurance company tried to resolve in my final attempt, we were argued with. I'm now proceeding with legal action. Horrible company. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I had two different procedures at two different facilities. One in 11/2022 and one in 01/23. I set up an auto payment plan for the 11/2022 bill. I never received any other communication by email or phone call. I never received a single statement or bill for the 01/2023 procedure. Yesterday I received an email from a collection agency. After several phone calls, I was told the bill from 11/2022 didn't draft because I never called back each month. I told her it was an auto draft. She didn't have anything to say after that. She also told me they sent multiple statements to my address for the 01/2023 bill which I find very hard to believe. The address on file was correct and I have lived here for 27 years. I paid the bill, but am warning others about this company. Poor communication and was unable to speak with a supervisor. I will take my business elsewhere in the future. I had surgery in November and did not receive a bill until the end of February. Beginning immediately after that I received daily harassing phone calls about paying the balance of $192.00. The bill was under review with BCBS. My insurance did end up paying the balance which I had in the meantime also paid. Now 5 weeks later (after being told in would take 4 weeks) I am being told it will take an additional 4-5 weeks. Funny how this company is demanding when they want your money but refunding is going to take 2-3 months. Will NEVER agree to using them again. read more

I would refuse service from any doctor that works with this company. I had a c-section 2 YEARS AGO and got a bill for $120. After sending my Explanation of Benefits from my insurance company I should not owe any money. I shared this information with US Anesthesia Partners and they agreed to review my case. They have had my case in "review" for 5 months now and will not give me an update. I have spoken to Jose, Betty, Susan... you name it. They call and harass me every 2 weeks for the money but nobody will tell me if they have reviewed my case. On Friday they sent me to a collections company. After speaking with Jose (manager) he agreed I should not have been sent to collections. US Anesthesia Partners will bully you into paying a bill even if you do not really owe them money! They will push you around, they will give you the run around, and feed you a bunch of crap to keep you waiting around. I spoke with a manager, Jose, again today and he told me to wait another 2 weeks. My kid will be almost 2 years old by the time this is resolved!!! Jose keeps telling me they are "delayed" and can't give me an update. This is no way to treat a former patient!!! Absolutely horrible! I had to have an emergency csection and they did my anesthesia. We recieved a bill for about $140 for difference in payment (I actually worked for the hospital) as we had hit our deductible and got confirmation that we had paid in full. Flash forward 2 years and they have retracted what they paid previously and now want us to pay $950. I am not even with my prior company anymore and I am due with our 2nd baby. I have spent hours and hours on the phone with them on the phone and told them Aetna has told me they show no payment needed as they are double billing!! They are still demanding payment and threatening collections. I have perfect credit and will be reporting them to the Texas medical board as well as resolving with collections. I would give a negative rating if I could. After surgery, USAP sent an invoice which I promptly paid. My insurance company sent a payment to them as well. After requesting a refund 6 times over 2 months and getting the runaround, I've yet to receive anything. Their services may be okay, but their billing department STINKS. I had robotic, ventral hernia surgery on 1/13/2023. Self-pay/uninsured cost was $1800.90. I paid that amount on 1/12/2023. Several weeks passed and I started getting emails that I owed $1001.88 MORE. I then received a bill in the mail. I called to get this resolved and was told that the surgery took longer than the 90 minutes that I paid for. THAT IS NOT MY FAULT! I paid the surgeon and the Surgery Center and was NOT billed for any additional time. Anna, from the Austin office, said that she told me that the $1800.90 was only an estimate. BS! I gave her the surgery code and the amount of time that was needed. She NEVER mentioned that the amount I paid was "only an estimate." In addition to bogus billing, the anesthesiologist didn't contact me prior to surgery. She told me minutes before surgery that she would be giving me Fentanyl and that I would be intubated. My blood pressure shot up straight into the clouds. WTF? It would have been nice to know this beforehand. I refused the Fentanyl and got a weird look from her. Currently contesting a bill for my recent procedure I had at the hospital where I work. I was charged $1700+ for a simple 15 minute surgery. For reference, Medicare pays about $300 for this surgery. First, I called the number on the bill and it was a fake phone number. I found the real phone number on Google. The billing department was no help and I will be disputing it in writing. I have very little hope that they will fix my bill so I guess I'll have to negotiate with collections. I'm so upset that this happened at my own hospital. read more

I received my bill in November 2020 with no insurance. I call them to apply my insurance. December comes and they lost my insurance. I had a surgery done back in June, 2021 with USAP as my anesthesiologist. I wasn't told they weren't in network. As I see other people have had issues with this certain situation, I had United Healthcare as my insurance at the time. UHC sent us an EOB saying we would only owe USAP $46.74 for their services. When USAP sent us a bill, however, it for was for thousands of dollars. I called them and UHC multiple times trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I finally spoke with someone in September that told me they would honor the original EOB of $46.74. I was over the moon! After all this back and forth, the end seemed in sight. We paid the $46.74 and moved on. Then we received ANOTHER bill from USAP wanting $260 more. I called and called USAP, but kept getting people who wouldn't listen to me. They would tell me they were going to speak with their manager and call me back the next day, and weeks would go by. I left multiple voicemails for the lady who told me she would call me back with no response. Finally yesterday, Ashley G. called me and left a voicemail. I called her back today, and she truly listened to me and understood my frustration. She put me on a very short hold while she spoke with a manager. Then she came back and they honored our original EOB! She even sent me an email with the printout showing a $0 balance on my account for my peace of mind. She was so helpful! The anesthesia was fine - I didn't wake up during the surgery, so that is a big plus. But, the billing department is horrible. They called me the day before the surgery and demanded full payment ($1800) in advance, despite having my insurance company information on file. I negotiated with them and only paid $540 dollars upfront. As it turned out, I then overpaid by this same amount. I had to call them back after my insurance paid them in full and get them to refund the $540. So, here is my advice - you can negotiate prepayment and then watch your bill and demand a refund if you overpay. read more

US Anesthesia Partners in Austin handled the anesthesia for my surgery back in April. I have United Healthcare Insurance and they considered USAP out of network. There was a lot of back and forth for months with the two companies as far as the amount that I owed. Today, Ashley in Austin resolved the issue and honored the original amount owed versus the higher amount that came back after UHC reprocessed the bill months later. This is the worst medical group I have ever had to deal with. I had a procedure that was 100% covered by my insurance. I provided all my insurance prior to my procedure. USAP sent me a bill which I paid thinking this might be the portion I owed. Upon further investigation, USAP never billed my insurance. When I called to correct it and again provide my insurance they AGAIN never submitted the claim. I was assured that the claim would be filed and that I would received a reimbursement within 45 days. I have called multiple times to check on the status only to realize USAP customer service has lied!! 40 days later they still have not submitted the insurance claim and say they don't have the correct insurance. My next step will be to fill a formal complaint on USAP with the Houston Methodist Hospital System where my procedure was done. read more

I continue to explain to the office, but there were two dates of service in separate months. They billed one correctly, but continue to mail, email and text bills when they did not bill Medicare at all for the first bill. This is a deal breaker. read more
