I used US China Visa to obtain 10 year visas for my family. They are very responsive and know what they are doing. After a ton of research online where every service would have cost $1500 or more, they were the most reasonable. The website is home made but does the job, and you do have to be pretty organized and more of a type A person but they are fast, reliable and truly want to just help. This agency is easily the cheapest agency you'll find to get your Visa done. At first I was *very* hesitant -- the website had broken English and I didn't want to give sensitive personal information to a non-reputable agency. That being said, after reading a couple great reviews I figured I'd give it a shot. Just as they promised, the job got DONE, for less than half the price of other services. Furthermore, they were *very* responsive throughout the whole process - when I asked for an update, I got an email from them within a couple hours and this was the case every time I emailed them. My main advice is to be sure to follow all of the directions listed on their website *very carefully*. If you aren't conscientious about attaching the proper documents, that's on you. Traveling to China can be difficult for Americans: the documentation requirements are cumbersome, and they do not allow online or mail-in service. That means you are either traveling to your nearest Chinese embassy or consulate (which is often going to be in another state), or hiring a service such as this one to do it for you. I felt like I was taking a bit of a gamble on these guys: their website (www.uschinavisa.com) is thorough but also overwhelming, and they make some very lofty performance claims without giving a lot of information about the business or the people behind it. To be safe, I did a little digging and checked out the associated corporation (ChinaServices.us, Inc.) with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs: it is a valid, current corporation in Michigan with a real address and officers. I also sent a few emails and found them to be sufficiently friendly and helpful. And while as a whole I probably wasn't quite as comfortable as I probably should have been with mailing our passports out with slightly fewer than 3 weeks remaining before our trip to China, I was low on options and was not going to deal with the nightmarish drive to Houston to deal with the Consulate myself, so we took the risk. As you've probably already inferred form the 5-star rating, I am very pleased with the outcome on several fronts. Here's why: 1) Most importantly, they got the job DONE. I sent them my documentation on February 19 and received our passports back with the Chinese visas on March 5th. I did not pay any rush or expedited handling fees (other than the $16.45 I paid for 2-day FedEx shipping on the outbound to them, which was my choice.) So by my estimation, they started working on it as soon as they could (Mon. 2/23), had it fully processed and picked up from the Consulate in ~5 business days (on. 3/2), and mailed it back that day or the following to have it to me by Thurs. 3/5. 2) They are straight up the cheapest option out there, and we looked extensively. Their $39.95 service fee (x2 for 2 travelers) is unbeatable. Our TOTAL ended up being $372.79, but $280 of that were consulate fees that you'll be paying no matter what, and the rest was shipping charges (FedEx, insured, tracked, etc.). 3) They went out of their way to save me money. When I was worried about time and asked them to send me a prepaid overnight shipping label so I could get them our passports ASAP, they responded with this: "Steven: Yes here is a 2 day label. We did not recommend you to use overnight because Chinese consulate is closed for holiday on Thursday and Friday anyway. Using two day shipping, send out on Thursday will arrive on Monday, No big difference, but the shipping fee lower." This sealed the deal in terms of their integrity and expertise: they know EXACTLY what they are talking about and it is clear that they have the customer's best interests at heart. 4) They provide a tracking system that sends you email updates when your application is received submitted, received back, etc. My one suggestion for improvement is to try to do everything possible to be clear about different requirements for which documentation is needed for which types of visas. Ultimately they DO provide all the information you need, but there is SO MUCH INFORMATION that it takes a long time to read through it all and understand. I am not going to complain about that because it is just a complicated process by nature, but it is very easy to make mistakes if you are not VERY careful. A few tips: Read ALL the forms they give you. Go over the checklist TWICE and make sure you aren't missing anything: invitation letters, travel itineraries, and whatever else you may need depending on your visa type. Make sure you look at the guidelines for passport photos. Make sure you fill out the application correctly: in all CAPS and with an N/A in the space for any information that does not apply. My photos of our passports weren't quite right, and I didn't realize that I needed to submit hotel documentation twice (1 copy with each visa application). While the other company provided good service the fees they charge to help process the paperwork was unfairly high. Background: I am a student who was looking to get a student X2 visa via uschinavisa.com to China. It ultimately did get done, but not with some headaches. Pros: -Cheapest out there. -They have a tracking feature that tells you the estimated completion date. -I did eventually get my visa on time, it took ten days. Please read on however. Cons: -The website is very confusing. It doesn't tell you that you have to choose the 2 day shipping option or it doesn't work. It doesn't differentiate between the X1 and X2 student visas. -NOT the most experienced, even though they claim to have been doing it for a long time. They didn't understand the difference between an X1 and X2 student visa (X2 is a longer stay and requires more documentation). They didn't even tell me that I needed a JW202 document, and my application was therefore incomplete. What would have happened if I hadn't noticed on their website after I sent it (and they received it) that it claims I needed a JW202? Would they have even contacted me that I needed a JW202? However, I knew for a fact that I didn't need one, because that is only required for the X2 (longer stay). So I called them to sort it out, since I didn't have the best luck with emailing them, and the guy I spoke to kept insisting that I needed the JW202 or I had to apply for a tourist visa and had to give further documentation for that (stuff like hotel reservations, etc.). After several lines of argument, I finally got the truth. They don't do many student visas, and didn't understand the difference between X1 and X2. I insisted that they please try anyway because it would be too late before I got my passport back to try again with another service. They told me to email them with all that I had said and they would try. -Horrible customer service. Firstly, they insist that you email them instead of call, but most of the time I had to call to even get a response on time. I would send emails and I would either not get a response back or get something that wouldn't help. After sending the one requesting that they please try with my application, I didn't get a response. I sent another a couple days later requesting that they at least acknowledge that they got the please try email so I knew they were trying. Instead of any kind of confirmation, I got an email back saying "no bad news means a good news". This was based off the basic application details that they had received it. I was extremely nervous at this point since it seemed that I might not get it back in time. -Because the website wasn't very clear, I had to call back and send them additional money for the shipping back to me. -They were supposed to send my admission notice back to me, but I only got the passport with the visa in it back. Overall: I had the most stressful experience with this company. I'm not sure if they do a better job with other types of visas, but they're not that experienced if they haven't even understood all of the embassy regulations thoroughly. I had to do so much pleading to be heard, and they kept insisting I was wrong. But it is the cheapest out there. I recommend that you give it plenty of time before you have to leave to do the process to account for all the issues you'll run into. read more
