It was my first time purchasing food from this carryout establishment. The gentleman who took my order was pleasant and explained the menu options to me very clearly. The restaurant was small and didn't have much space. People were standing around waiting for their orders to be called out, so I went to sit in the car. They told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes, and that was pretty accurate. The total amount for my order was very pricy ($45.43), but I didn't question it. I paid for it, and that was that. I ordered the chicken, lamb, and shrimp platter that came with a small side salad and rice. Once I went back to receive my order, the guy who took my order stated that they had overcharged me by mistake and refunded the additional money ($15.14) back to my card. That was very honorable and showed integrity on their part. I did question the fact that since they are Muslims and Hallal, why would they be serving shrimp? I didn't think they'd do that, but I could be wrong. Lastly, I got home and opened the container, and everything smelled and looked good. I tasted it. It was good and seasoned just right. I also ordered chicken shawarma over rice and a slice of lemon pound cake. The chicken shawarma over rice lacked flavor I did not enjoy it. The lemon cake the only thing good was the icing. Decent spot with a variety of options. I have tried almost everything from here but just recently I ordered the lamb over rice extra white sauce. They definitely gave me extra lol I was satisfied. I ordered dinner tonight from the Albemarle Rd location today and decided to add something sweet to my order. I got the Strawberry Cheesecake but when I received my order the Cheesecake was missing . I called the store and the lady said that she tried to catch me but I had driven off. So she said that she would PERSONALLY DELIVER the Strawberry Cheesecake to my house! I used to love this place before the remodel. I got three piece chicken, fries and onion rings. I ordered cole slaw not the fries, but he must not have heard me as well as another customer who brought food back in for forgotten items. There are new people working. The chicken was overcooked as well as everything else. Some of the onion rings were burnt. The chicken was so dry it was tough to chew and gave most to my cats. Even the coating on the chicken use to be very flavorful and today it was plain and a ton of it. (which I took off and not much chicken under all that). If you want some much better than KFC or Bojangles chicken, don't sleep on US Fried Chicken. It's located in a strip mall and is a small place with a few tables for dine-in. I placed and waited on a to-go order around 6:30 on a Tuesday and while I was waiting observed a couple tables finishing up meals and looking happy and a pretty steady stream of mostly phone-in or online to-go orders. Got home and enjoyed some crispy, and well seasoned/cooked chicken that was good that night, the next night for a late night, cold out of the fridge drumstick and then a reheated breast that I tore up and turned into a fried chicken sandwich. Good and good and good. I ordered an 8 piece value pack that came with two rolls and two sides and it ran about $18. For sides I got fries that were crispy while I ate them on the way home and coated in some kind of seasoning that I thought was good and coleslaw that was too sweet for my tastes but others may enjoy. The rolls were unremarkable, out of a package, dinner rolls. But, it's US Fried Chicken, not US Rolls and the chicken hit the spot very well. So off we went to US Fried Chicken based on their 4.5 stars. Service here is very friendly. Their menu is good with many choices. However, this fried chicken was just alright. It was good but nothing to write home to momma about. Their French fries are honestly kind of awful. I did love their spinach. It was seasoned perfectly and had little chunks of meat through out. We had side of mac salad which was not bad but you had to be a huge fan of vinegar and dill relish because it was the dominant flavor. But let me tell you what deserves a 5 star about this place - their sweet potato pies. I asked if they had any because I saw it on the menu, but did not see any out and he went and grabbed two but told me they were frozen. No problem, I knew we could easily thaw them out. This hole in the wall restaurant in Derita shopping center has changed hands several times in the past three years. First it was the India/Pakistan Kabob House, then Anthony's American Cheesesteak, and now it is US Fried Chicken. The restaurant is small but has enough tables so that it's not too cramped. You order and the front counter then get called when your order is up. I suppose I should have tried its namesake entree, but I'm more of a burger guy. The burger was cooked to order in just a few minutes. I opted for the double cheeseburger which came Big Mac style - using three buns. This was a good sized burger, but the patties weren't too think. The meat was nice and moist and it felt like the patties were hand made and not machine pressed and frozen. The fries were not soggy or overcooked but not really special either. The double, fries, and soda cost around 6 bucks. Overall I'd have to say the food was better than I expected. read more
