After trying acupuncture and even strong medications, I still did not experience the relief I desperately needed. I was especially hesitant to move forward with an epidural due to a traumatic experience I had in the past while I was pregnant and in labor at a different facility with another physician. At that time, epidurals are typically performed without imaging, especially in an urgent labor setting, which contributed to my distress. I put them in my shoes and use them every day. They lasted more than a year and it helped my back to heal and not get inflamed like they used to get.
