I visited on July 25,2025. I went mid morning and there was no waiting. I have had some confusion…read moreabout a recent change of address. There was one man who went to great lengths to research the issues, find out what all had been submitted, what the Postal Service had in hand. It was extremely helpful and put my mind at ease. This was in my estimation, Service that was above and beyond.

This is the worst post office I have ever been to. The employees at the window, processing…read morepassports, and sorting mail are rude and useless. Every encounter I have had with an employee at this location has been frustrating and unpleasant and I have witnessed these same employees become downright hostile with customers. For some reason this is the only USPS location in Albuquerque that does not have to answer phone calls. I've had to call other USPS locations in Albuquerque to help me reach someone at this main location. Nothing gets resolved here. If there is an issue with you mail, good luck! "It's your problem, not mine" is the attitude you'll get from any employee you ask for help. This location has been an issue for a long time and nothing has been done to improve anything. There is no standard of service and no accountability. I typically support funding the USPS but this location is a great argument for privatization. It makes me angry that tax dollars are being wasted on such a poorly run joke of a facility. Soapbox dictum for the day: Forty-nine cent…read more Not 50 Cent, 49. Go on, give me one freakin' thing you can buy, nowdays, for forty-nine cents. Indeed, in 2015, that one thing would be a postal stamp which, attached to an envelope, can travel from New Mexico and arrive hand-delivered in New York City a few days later. Having a good time at the White Sands National Monument? Tell all of your Manhattan buddies about it, on a postcard, for 34 cents. Now, do tell, why the Postal Service has been shouldered with the obligation of funding their employee pension plans for the next 75 years. The next time you FedEx, ask 'em for the 49 cent deal. The only time I hate dealing with the Post Office is over the holidays. I came to this location recently and stood in line for, oh, maybe ten minutes. The employees were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, as usual. The place offered everything any proud American could ask for, every package and shipping option imaginable, and a huge array of PO boxes. Self-service postage machines, hourly mail box pickup, the facility was clean and ordered, streamlined, including my favorite aspect of this age-old industry: the "You're Next" agreement. Essentially, this ritual involves the unprepared consumer (me) approaching the desk with unprepared or unfinished shipping materials which require a little work before they're sent off. I was told, as usual, what I had to do, and was guaranteed the next spot in line when I finished my business. I love this unspoken rule. And if the Federales ever try anything shady (i.e. privatize the mail service), I'm going Postal.

How can you be a government affiliated building/ government employees and cannot even open on time. If it's that hard to open by a scheduled time maybe aim to put your hours for 9am- 5:30pm because clearly need a later start. No excuses and will not return to this location. I would rate 0 stars if I was able to..... get this situated USPS there is not excuse. We are now almost 10 minutes past opening time and nothing.... Someone needs to be held accountable...

Today there is a tape dispenser right next to credit card machine but it was empty. I needed about an inch and half piece and the agent told me it was $8.00 I laughed and she proceeded to scan a small roll of tape, I told her I thought she was joking and she said and I quote "tape has never been free, there are cameras and I don't own the place". I said wow over the last 10 years if I needed a tiny piece of tape it was provided. She then said that's why the ever always so kind gentleman wasn't there and she was and told me sarcasm was uncalled for because I said he was always kind and helpful, SHAME ON HIM. Seriously can't believe the cost of shipping to be treated like they are providing free services to the public. Do yourself a favor and drive to the Broadway location. More than one miserable agent working and they are actually open the hours that are posted. I always give people the benefit of doubt, maybe she's having a bad day... this is the 3rd time I've been here in the last 30 days and I think she's gotten more hateful. Find another job if this one causes you so much misery. Maybe dealing with customers just isn't your thing.
