Quick rating: The Postal employees are a 4.5. The location and interior are a 3.0. If you don't mind waiting for good service, AND you do not mind the inconvenience of the location, it's a Post Office to consider. I typically stop here if I need to mail a package because it's on my way to Costco. The location is not convenient for me due to the options of either a traffic light or a U-turn on Montgomery. However, the service has been top-notch with every employee making every effort to assist with my shipping needs. As I wait in the long line, I notice each employee engaging the customer without distraction, and typically with a friendly smile and tone of voice. Julie assisted my wife and me the last time, and her interaction with us was very pleasant, as if we were her first customer and not the "umpteenth" one. Plenty of parking is available. The PO Boxes are right as one walks in the door. Overall, the indoor areas are spacious, but the main area for customer is out-of-date, sterile, and dingy like the mold exterior of the building. read more

It's a good 19-minute drive, so I tend to head up here and get a few things done while in the area as well. On multiple occasions, there have been no Priority Mail boxes, mailing envelopes or tape.

I've travelled all around the USA and this is the worst USPS office branch that I've ever seen. During working hours, the bins are routinely filled full -- not because of the volume of customers, but simply because the staff is too lazy to empty them. The package drop box lost its protective metal shield about a year ago, so anyone can just reach in and grab someone's package after hours with little difficulty. Of course, the staff can't be bothered to fix it despite numerous complaints and concerns. read more

I just had the most embarrassing, humiliating and not to mention utmost unprofessional experience while preparing to mail my gifts out. I arrived at post office at approximately 5:30 is. I'm not really sure how it works but I knew they would help me. I realized after I was in line that I didn't have a pen. There was only 1 pen in use so I patiently waited in line, got to the front and asked the clerk some questions, she was kind and I advised her I would move to the side as to not hold the line up. Out comes some wild man yelling that we should come prepared because it wastes too much time and besides no one is getting anything before Christmas at this point. I pointed out that they do not have pens readily available and I could have had this done in time. He replied "we have many pens, please let us know that you need a pen", we'll kinda too late for that. People should be spoken to respect and Kindness. It's like a game to them. Since Covid has hit we have been writing letters and sending cards and care packages to friends, family, and some in our community the last several months. When we needed international stamps, stamps for bills, and decorative stamps for cards, we've been greeted with and assisted promptly and kindly. When we've had packages going out, they've quickly and efficiently assisted us to get them delivered. When I just need to drop off letters I can drop them in the box out front of the building's parking lot, just inside the entry, or hand it directly to someone when I'm picking up more postage. None of these things are really new, it's the post office. The biggest difference is there is a global pandemic and these folks are out here working hard and helping me reach people I can't reach in person right now. They mail my handwritten hugs out for me. And that's pretty special. Please don't take it for granted. read more

I own a small business and drop off packages at this post office because they are open till 6pm. I RAN into this post office right at 6pm as I was in traffic. The white male that works at the front desk refused to take my PRE-PAID PACKAGES. He didn't have to do a thing other than take them out of my hands. He clearly has never owned a small business and his lack of customer care is exactly why the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE IS IN HUGE FINANCIAL TROUBLE. That man had a choice to make. Do the right thing at 6pm and take my PRE-PAID orders or turn me away. He chose to turn me away. Wow! I've been coming to this post office for years but today they took me by complete surprise. They've set up a flat rate box Station with boxes already pre-taped together, added full tape dispensers, along with pens that work! I complimented the Postal employee and he said they want to be an example to other post offices of how well things can be done. Such a refreshing change for a government-run facility. People are friendly here and the mood is always upbeat. It's a friendly USPS! I like the vending machine where you can buy postage for boxes and such without standing in line. There is a long high table in the waiting line, so this makes it easy to label packages while waiting. In addition, colorful large envelopes can be purchased on site and used to mail your goodies. I picked out a pretty pink one with flowers, and another one with snoopy. If there is a line, it usually moves along quickly, which is always a plus. My mother sent me a package on the 16th priority mail & it disappeared into the abyss because after tracking it for days upon days, it finally just appeared in the system as arriving into NY today. This is clearly a huge problem since I am now in FL & my mother spent a little over $30 on a package that should have arrived on the 19th. Since last August, the mail service from this office has been abysmal. Significant neighborhood postal worker turnover. Mis-delivered mail. Mail tracked on USPS Informed Delivery as coming to one's address is never delivered, which is happening more frequently (2 straight days this week). Certified mail tracked on USPS sent to other areas in the state and then either lost or returned to the sender. Certified mail never shown as delivered. Held mail not delivered when the hold date is over. This poor service appears to emanate from both the Altamonte Springs office and the Lake Mary Distribution Center. This has been blamed on COVID, however the simple mechanics of delivering mail is not a COVID issue - this is a neglect, apathy and possibly a training problem. I've never seen the mail service as poor as it is today and I no longer know how to receive and send the mail I need. Looking for a viable alternative. The current performance is unreliable and costly for the public. read more

It was a horrible experience, on Apr 8th, afternoon, around 2pm, I walked in the office to send a certified mail, but the old lady who served me treated me differently just because I am an international person, the way she was talking made me feel super uncomfortable. She just begin the conversation with " I don't think you understand English" and spoke it loudly, and gave the service with no patience. I was about to be irritated, however, I don't have much time to debate with an old under-educated lady in front of the public. It will make me feel shame. I have never experienced the issues I am encountering from any other carrier. I have called 4 times to speak to the post master, two times the phone rang and rang with no voice mail pick up. The other two times i left messages with a person, but never received a call from the post master. It is hit or miss on receiving our mail. We are business and if the postal carrier does not feel like coming up the drive to pick up our mail, then he/she just does not do it. We have had mail out side waiting for pick up two days. I am only giving 5 stars because of an amazing employee named Xavier if it had not been for him I would give ZERO stars if I could due to a very disgruntled and rude employee named Rami L. I have had to complain about him before and quite frankly he needs to be fired. I patiently waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. I had my items in the box and not sealed because I had planned to get priority mail and they provide tape for free when you purchase priority. I stated to the clerk Rami that I needed pricing for my item via priority and he stated that I had to address my box with the shipping information before pricing. I have been going to the post office for years and never had anyone state this before. He directed me to the side and told me to address it and took the next customer. After addressing the box with the shipping information he then told me it needed to be taped before pricing and directed me to purchase tape specifically after I told him I wanted Priority mail. He decided to hand me the tape because he was just so lazy and couldn't do it himself. He then told me someone else could help me and he walked off. I was in so much shock that someone at this post office would treat me with so much disrespect and he directed me to the employee next to him. I stated if there was any manager I could speak too and he witnessed the whole thing and stated he was the manager in charge and would address him. I know they get very busy so I said OK. I was still quite flustered and upset and I started crying... I really didn't have such a great day and I felt so disrespected. Xavier told me everything would be ok and that he would take care of me and told me not to cry or he would start crying... Not only did this man go up and beyond to help me with priority mail he taped my box for me a customer from the previous day had given him flowers and he wrote my name on the card which said "Hoping to Lift your Spirit." and gave me his bundle of flowers which were given to him. This post office needs more employees like him. He was amazing and I will contact the USPS corporate office to tell them what an asset they have to there company. Thank You Xavier for being such an amazing man you are great! To Rami you are a complete example of the type of employee the USPS does not need. I hope you get fired.
