never thought i'd leave a yelp review for a post office but i felt the need to say this is the best…read moreone i've ever had out out of anywhere i've ever lived. everyone i've ever interacted with (mail carriers, in the post office itself, on the phone, etc.) have been a total joy. john our mail carrier is just amazing- so kind, generous, & i always look forward to seeing him. and jennifer at the post office is so incredibly helpful (when i had a mail hold and a package had been scanned but not delivered (FYI i now know that it'll be scanned even with a mail hold on & delivered later), she helped me track it down and got in touch with john who even got it & delivered it that same day after the normal delivery. the team here really does seem to care & always seems to go above and beyond. will really miss them when i move out of pacific grove!

What is wrong with this place???…read more They did not process my change of address for weeks until I went in person so weeks of mail was returned to sender or destroyed. The delivery workers drop mail in the gutter! I have to fish out my mail in the street because it somehow does not all get placed into my standard mailbox. I had a passport appointment at a scheduled time 2:15. I walk in 15 min earlier. I check in and start filling everything out. I was missing the ss#, I ask my husband to go home and get it. Mind you we live 5 min away. We get called to the front at 2:20 and I let them know my situation. The Asian lady who helped us and is always rude with customers immediately said, "no we cannot help you" I let her know my husband is on his way back and right away she said, "no we cannot help you reschedule." Ok yes I know forgetting my son's social is my fault. I get there 15 min earlier, you don't help me, call me 5 min after my scheduled appt and then say you can't help me because according to your supervisor 'you should've been halfway done with the application already.' How is that my fault?! Awful customer service.

I needed to ship off my passport renewal application and was too afraid to do it in my own. I came into this location for assistance with shipping out my package and ensuring I have all of the right documents. The first person to help me was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, when we got to the end of my package she informed me that I have to pay either by check or with a money order as this is all the department of state will accept for passport renewals. I was forced to leave, go to the bank, and come back. At this point, I was helped by a different employee that was helpful- but a little rude. Additionally, I noticed other employees being rude and snappy to customers.

The COVID protocols are in place with markings on the floor to indicate correct social distancing. The service was also outstanding. Goodness. I was a bit concerned at being around so many people, but dang it, COVID has everyone, especially me, afraid to be around too many peeps. My husband and I have repeatedly asked them to fly the flags, as they're supposed to - but each time we have received an attitude. Today, the worker even questioned if it was required by law or not. I will be reporting this to the USPS OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL, which audits the operations, by calling 1-888-877-7644 and emailing the agency here: hotline@uspsoig.gov as well as the POSTAL REGULATORY COMMISSION at https://prc.gov/contact.

I called and spoke with Leo and today, Linda (Lulu) and explained to them that while I had sent previous packages to this same address and that they were delivered , I was very unhappy to get this one back and wasn't sure why this happened. Not only did I pay for that original service, but now I was reshipping the same box only to have to pay once more. I was desperate to make sure that there was not a repeat performance when the shipment arrived there next week. Both Leo and Linda/Lulu were not only very professional and helpful, they were cheerful and offered assurances that I would not have another problem.

Since we live out of the area most of the time, it's really convenient to have a local delivery address. We paid our most recent bill ($166 annually for a small box) by mail one week in advance of the 1/31 due date printed on our bill. A few weeks later, I was in town and went to check our box, only to find I had been locked out. When I asked to speak to the manager (JR) he advised me that notices were slipped into boxes in early January that customers had to pay for their renewal by 1/9 in order to avoid a rate increase to $198. If you were out of town during the holidays and didn't get the notice, too bad. Even though we had paid the $166 bill on time, he demanded an additional $32 PLUS a $25 late fee. According to JR, we were responsible for accessing our box on a daily basis in order to receive and act on any such notices of fee increases - even those which conflicted with the bill we were previously mailed. Really? Daily? Where is this ridiculous policy written? JR insisted that this requirement was printed on the USPS PO Box application, but couldn't show me where - because it is not. Bottom line, this Louis DeJoy wannabe could care less about being fair to loyal customers.

I contacted your office for assistance in tracking down my mailbox number. During the call, the representative I spoke with was dismissive and unprofessional. He stated that helping me was "a service" and that he "didn't have to help me at all." Shortly after, he hung up on me. I understand USPS staff are often busy, but I reached out because I genuinely needed assistance. Instead of being treated respectfully, I felt belittled and disregarded. This experience left me disappointed and concerned about the level of customer service being provided. I would appreciate it if this matter could be looked into and if you could advise me on the appropriate next steps to both resolve my mailbox inquiry and ensure future interactions are more professional.
