Upon every visit I notice long lines, but they usually move pretty quickly. I'm very pleased with the availability of stamps, postal boxes, post office boxes and different odds and ends that i need for postage. I'm on a first name basis with many of the clerks and the postmaster. That kind of thing doesn't happen back where I'm from, so I'm very appreciative. I also like where they located this post office. It sits between Carson street and the 580. So it's always on my way

I have been to this post office a number of times since 2014. I first had to come here in 2014 to have the lock changed for my mail box at the USPS installed mail station at my new apartment complex in Carson City. That involved two trips before I could access mail: one to fill out the form and show ID and the lease, and the other to actually come and get the new keys when they were ready. This took about five days since they come out to change the locks only certain days of the week. I wasn't able to access mail in the meantime. Then, before I could have any mail delivered, I had to fill out the name form left my the postman. Kind of a cumbersome process, but I do appreciate that I had a new lock for my mail box. They also have an outgoing mail slot in this mail station at my apartment, and another locked box if you have a large-sized package that won't fit in your regular box, the regular boxes being quite large though (about 2 to 2.5 times bigger than a small PO box). This is convenient, as it saves you a trip to the post office. Whenever I have gone to the post office for actual services, I have been satisfied..The line can get long at times, but they do move. I have seen both slower and faster lines at other post offices. I like the fact that they have a self-service station where you can weigh your mail and buy stamps, but packages over a pound still have to go to the window. They also have free postal supplies in the more commons sizes all over. Parking has always been sufficient. I usually get one of the space up front since I have a handicapped placard. The lot is large, with two entrances. There is also a drive-thru to mail letters, which I have found very convenient. Sorry, no pics, but maybe next time.

What can I say? Same people have worked here for years. Friendly and courteous with lots of knowledge. Nice mail carriers too.

I should have stopped by Payless ShoeSource, as they are closing nationally and have good deals, but I didn't have time. I have been here many time over the past four plus years. This plaza is located at the southwest corner of US Route 395 and Topsy Lane, just past Clear Creek Plaza and the Carson City limit. It is technically in Douglas County, but has a Carson City postal address, as it is served by that post office. It has two entrances on US Route 395, one entrance on Topsy Lane, and a back entrance on Vista Grande Boulevard (by Costco). It is also right next to Clear Creek Plaza to the north, on Topsy Lane. This shopping center has a variety of useful and somewhat higher-end stores than the neighboring Clear Creek Plaza. The stores are: Armed Forces Career Center AT&T Bank of America Bed Bath & Beyond Best Buy Bike Habitat Boot Barn China Jade Horse Cost Plus World Market Dollar Tree EyeZone Nevada Famous Footwear Farmer's Insurance GameStop GNC In-N-Out Burger Jamba Juice La Salsa Grill Marshalls Mattress Firm Maurices Michaels Panda Express Payless ShoeSource (going out of business soon) Petco Pier One Imports Play It Again Sports Qdoba Mexican Eats Roger's Carpet One Floor & Home Round Table Pizza Senior Care Plus Sierra Sewing, Quilting, & Vacuums Starbucks (with drive-thru) TeamClips The UPS Store Ulta Beauty Verizon Wireless There used to be a Claire's, Quiznos, and Styles for Less here, but they closed. I love coming here as I always feel safe and have plenty of stores to choose from. I have always found there to be plenty of parking. It is a clean and well-maintained plaza, with just a few vacancies. The views from this plaza are also spectacular, as you can see the mountains on the west end and hills and desert on the east end.

I dropped off my paperwork in the front of the DMV 6 weeks before my driver's license was to expire. Unfortunately, my doctor forgot to check off one box. It came back to me one week before it was expiring on my birthday. Because of the weather the DMV was closed for a couple of days. I was in a panic because I was flying out the next week. So here I had to go into the DMV which I tried to avoid in the first place. Aspen gave me an appointment the first available was in the middle of March. I told her I was flying out the next weekend and showed her the proof of my flight. She left me for a moment and came back and told me that they would call my name and got me in that day. She really didn't have to do that, but she wanted to help me. She was so kind and thoughtful. I also had a great experience with Gaby. She also was very kind in this matter. I just want to let them know how appreciated I was and wanted to express that in a review. Respectfully, Deborah Parsley

How is it that after decades in existence and all of the technological advancements made to assist organizations just like this one, the DMV experience is still the same? More than a month ago I made an appointment. I was pleased to receive the email and text reminders and those asking me to confirm. I arrived 30 min early for my appointment and I confirmed I'd arrived as soon as I was in the parking lot. I checked in at the kiosk as soon as I arrived as well.l, and I even checked in with the questions clerk to be sure I had checked in and had all the documents I needed. 30 min after my appointment time I checked the status link texted to me and found I still had an hour to wait. How is this acceptable? Making the appointment wa shortcut enough bht learning I had to wait more than an hour from the time is just infuriating. The DMV is the only organization that can exist with this level of service. What's the point of an appointment if you're asked to wait as long as those walking in?
