Our poor Post Office just isn't geared for the Amazon age, and so when my hubs and I decided to be apart of the overall solution, we chose Pak Mail to be our partner for personal packages and business mail delivery! We are beyond happy with the support we get - whether its Arturo or Megan answering the phone when I call, or Heather finding the most bizarrely irregular sized box to ship a package in, we're SO lucky to have their help! I absolutely LOVE that they are so attentive to COVID precautions - and I've never had a problem getting a package or mail because of limited hours. Their LUXER boxes make it so easy to pick up after hours! Plus, I love that as one of their box holders, I get to come in during specific "customer-only hours." THAT is REAL customer service you sure don't get down in the Big City! It always cracks me up when I'm chatting up someone in line in front of me and Heather says, "Is that Marla?" THAT is small town living folks - you get to know someone well enough that even with a mask on, they recognize who you are :). As for James (the owner) ... well, there just isn't a nicer guy in this town. And he does the right thing, always. Moods come and go, packages arrive and get shipped, life goes on. While sitting there I heard conversations about a range of free with a voucher to $40 and up to $80 for a simple electronic transmission of prints. The service took just over 25 minutes from walking in to registering, paying and then getting printed. The DISGRACE was the payment tablet actually asked for a tip of 15 to 25%. Really? The actual fingerprinting takes about 5 minutes and is transmitted electronically. That is the whole "service". Nearly ALL instances of getting fingerprints is a "requirement" for a job or volunteer situation. A tip, really? Not to mention that they have signed contracts with agencies for the exclusive and mandatory "service". So people cannot opt to go to RPD, SPD or the Sheriff's office where the fees are less than half the price and it would be illegal to accept a tip. I wonder if State regulators like the Nevada Gaming Control Board are aware that this business is soliciting tips from casino workers? Or if they share the tips with the agencies leadership?

Unfortunately, our experiences with the manager, Jerome, have been consistently uncomfortable. On multiple visits, his comments and demeanor have given us the impression that our business--particularly Amazon returns--is unwelcome. Today was a good example: we came in with four pre-packaged boxes, one of which simply needed to be dropped off. As soon as we walked in, he looked at the boxes and remarked, "Those can't all be returns." My wife felt put on the spot and replied that they were, and his response was an audible sigh that made us both feel like an inconvenience. Other employees have mentioned that a large portion of the store's daily traffic is Amazon returns, so the attitude is especially confusing. Customers shouldn't feel guilty for using services that are core to the business. Because of these repeated experiences, we've decided it's worth driving to the other Carson City location--despite the extra distance--to avoid feeling unwelcome. We value good service, and it's disappointing to feel pushed away from the store we've supported for so long.
