Not sure what is going on there lately, maybe last couple of months. I don't have a problem with the Post Office. I know they are understaffed and overworked. Also, it would be VERY helpful if people would learn to use online services. I NEVER have to go in there. Print postage on line, if not from USPS.com then from a third party FREE account (search, you'll find it). Arrange for package pick up at my house. Have a cluster box so that I don't need to go the PO all the time. If you don't have a cluster box in your neighborhood or complex--request one! The reason I'm reviewing today....lately I've had packages mis-delivered, also packages that are too large stuffed into the slot, making them difficult to get out (used to be they would bring the larger packages to the house) AND three days in a row I've requested a pick up (never failed in the past) and the packages are still sitting there. Been trying to call the post office, it just rings and rings. Something is different, in the last couple of months and I don't think it's the holiday rush. Something else. read more

literally the worst post office i've ever come across. i've gotten mail to my house every time, but the one time I order something and it goes through this office they claim my address doesn't exist. Amazon & fedex say I exist but not usps!! My package got all the way to this post office and then was sent back...good luck with these people! they can't read! read more

Absolutely the worst post office ever. Do not have anything that is important sent there. Terrible service, they can't read the numbers on the PO Boxes apparently because we constantly get other peoples' mail in our box. The Postmaster is impossible to reach, yet every question you ask the clerks is answered by "you will have to talk with the Postmaster." The private mail companies are expensive, but if your mail is important to you it is your only option. read more

I am perplexed that the USPO year after year ignores the terrible service at Incline Village; the lack of PO Boxes to meet needs; won't install boxes at condos; can't get Amazon delivered ; understaffed as always with wait line and no one answers the phone (I tried calling 6 times today and get the recording to hold for agent and then after a couple minutes it says will transfer to an operator and then in rings a few times and then hangs up). In the past, we were directed to contact the person below but seems it doesn't do any good. As others have mentioned, this government building needs all their staff replaced. They will not deliver your packages or hold them or grant you a PO Box as a resident. No staff will ever answer the phone, no matter how many times you call. If there was ever an argument to replace incompetent humans with robots, this is exactly why. read more

Worst service I have ever encountered from a USPS location, instead of delivering packages they do not attempt and simply just return them to the sender. They take on these shipping contracts and do not perform. Do not bid on these contracts if you cannot fulfill your obligation. I have never had so many issues with getting packages delivered via Incline Village USPS. UPS and FedEx I have had no issues, but with Incline Village USPS constantly having issues not receiving packages. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

Laura was so helpful today. A vendor shipped something to me via USPS instead of UPS, and Laura found it for me. She only looked for it after everyone in line was served, as she was the only one at the counter. A line formed while she was in back hunting down my parcel, and she was apologetic to everyone in line once she got back (with my package ~ hooray!). read more

HORRIBLE service!!! ZERO STARS! I think this post office's goal is to never actually deliver mail again. They won't deliver packages, say it was an incorrect address, return packages to sender immediately, and get mad when you go in to talk to them about all of these problems. Every time I have trouble, an employee suggests that I get a Post office box there--must be nice to have everyone come to you to get their mail even though you are called mail CARRIERS. I got a text message saying my package was ready to be picked up, but when I got there, I was told I had to wait for the yellow slip in my mailbox before I could pick it up. You can deliver the yellow slip, but not the package?!? The Postmaster should be embarrassed of this office! read more

I used to have a lot of issues with my packages at this location but ever since Virginia started working there she has accommodated all my needs and makes sure I can easily get all my packages. I have made over 30 calls to this Post Office in over a week and they NEVER pick up the phone. WHAT A JOKE. This place deserves negative stars. Don't ship anything important through them cause it will get lost or if you're lucky delivered weeks late. I've been putting up with lost packages and rude customer service for 7 years now...I try to avoid their service but sometimes you just can't. Well this summer really pushed me over the edge with this place. I had 3 packages ordered through amazon this summer ALL of which got returned to sender. I had one package that I had rush delivered and I had been tracking it online. For 3 days it said it was "out for delivery" until finally I went online and put instructions to hold at the post office. I go in the next morning and explain. She immediately starts yelling at me saying she's not even allowed in the package room because its such a disorganized mess. After lots of back and forth arguing she reluctantly goes back. She returns and says it will be delivered today and I couldn't pick it up (despite the hold for pick up request). I leave and sure enough it doesn't get delivered and the next day I get a notification the next day that its being returned to sender. If this wasn't a government run facility they would be out of business within a week. COMPLETE incompetence. read more

This place is just so hit-or-miss. We've been coming here since early 2014 and some things have definitely improved but I still sometimes leave scratching my head. Back in 2014, it was impossible to get good customer service except from one older gentleman, Jim I think, who I once heard the workers mocking behind the mailboxes for his helpfulness (obtaining a cluster box seemed a nearly impossible task but we needed to receive packages so he helped us figure out how to do general delivery). I was once nextdoor at the market and heard a younger employee go silent when asked about his work environment. He indicated everyone hated each other and I definitely got that sense based on the nasty attitudes most employees had toward customers and each other. Fast forward another year or so and we finally got that cluster box after someone died--kidding, but highly probable--and it's about a half mile from our house. (Note: Since Incline is considered "rural" we don't have deliverable addresses and getting mail is one of the biggest annoyances here. You'd think with all the federal tax dollars that leave this area, we'd have regular mail delivery, but that's not the case.) I've tried for ages to get my HOA to build a cluster box for the 35 cabins in our neighborhood but they refuse ("Who's going to shovel the snow around it?!"). So, alas, this girl, who spent her college years working in the residence-hall mailroom, walks or drives to get mail down the hill. So far, I've been pleased with our delivery service and have only had a few pieces of mail (mostly birthday or holiday cards) go missing, which is why I now do Informed Delivery to keep track. Fast forward to 2018: I'd been mostly avoiding going to the post office because of my deep disappointment in folks like Marcia, who thankfully no longer works there. But one morning recently, I went in and there was hardly a line (shocking for IV). The young dark-haired woman was a new face for me but was SO friendly, courteous, and efficient. I left completely amazed and thought I'd found myself in some alternate universe. Then I went back today. My whole life, I've been super spoiled with excellent customer service at post offices in South Arlington, Texas and on military bases at Fort Carson, Colorado and Edwards Air Force Base, California. At those places, the hardworking folks behind the counter always greeted me with a smile, said good morning, and I genuinely believed they loved their jobs and helping customers. What's more, if I arrived with a Priority Mail package that wasn't flat rate and they knew I could save money on the flat-rate box or envelope, they'd let me know. I ALWAYS appreciated that and didn't realize it wasn't a universal courtesy at all post offices. Look, I get that people like to claim that the post office isn't making money, but that's baloney. (Restraining political note here.) If they want me to keep sending packages all over the globe, they'll get my repeat and regular business if they say, hey lady, that other packaging will cost half of this one. Might take me a few more minutes, but I appreciate the courtesy. Well today again there was no line and Matthew waited on me. Without greeting me or looking me in the eye, he weighed my package, asked in monotone if there was anything liquid, fragile, or perishable or lithium batteries inside, and slapped a sticker on it without noting that I could probably save several dollars going with different packaging. When I said out loud that I probably should have gone with the less-expensive box, he just shrugged and handed me my receipt. Like so many who have gone before him, I get the distinct impression he does not enjoy his line of work. When did customer service become like the Loch Ness Monster? I know the demographic of IV is not typical and I can see how it would be akin to working in a nursing home daily with so many geriatric customers who mostly can't hear, don't understand modern technology, and are still writing checks; but if you don't love those customers as much as the ski bums, beach goers, and blue-collar ESL customers, then maybe it's time to look for another job or a different post office? The worst post office service I have ever experienced. There is at most 99% of the tine one worker. You will never be able to get through via phone. I watched them watch the phone ring and ring and not a single worker cared to even pick up to say they are busy. Also they can't get your items to you when they arrive They tell you if it doesn't arrive before 11am we process it next day or the day after. It's not safe to go inside the post office with the corona virus pandemic. Customers are standing in a line of up to 15 people inches from one another and most not wearing masks! It was very disturbing when I entered to have to pass by this crowd of people to get to my post office box! Stagnant non circulating air. No wipes either. The place has always been poorly managed but now it is a public health hazard. If there is an outbreak in Incline, contact tracing will probably link back here. read more

If I could give -stars I would. As per the advice of the clerk at the desk I now use the Post Office address on May's Blvd with my box number. Over a week ago I received a notice from UPS that my package had arrived. I still haven't received a yellow tag. I have the alert I received from UPS that even shows the name of the clerk that received the package. The clerk at the desk told me to go to Postal Express to see if they could check the status of the package. I did go to Postal Express and ended up getting on the waiting list for a box. This is all so ridiculous and in addition we pay over $200 a year for this "service." By the way, I would say that this happens at least 50% of the time I order something online. I really wonder what happens to the items I've ordered. Now that I use the 770 Mays address I no longer get a message that a package is returned. read more

This is hands down the most unfriendly US post office I have ever used. We live in Incline and don't get mail at our residence per the city. So we have a PO Box and our packages get mailed to here. There can be nobody in the lobby and they turn the corner as if they are being bothered, I have encountered at least 4 employees and each one equally rude, abrupt and unwilling to help w a smile or a greeting. I call the post office, they say they can't track magazine deliveries. I've lived in this town for 14 years and it gets on my nerves that this post office can't seem to perform its duties. I have been hesitant about writing a review of Incline's post office, namely b/c the employees are quite nice and it is a public institution...but omg, someone has to reveal their ridiculous incompetence which often results in 1. your never receiving your mail, 2. your mail being rerouted and re-sorted via Reno, and then Denver (just listen to them explain this to you while their faces reveal they have NO F*CKING CLUE where your mail is, much less if you'll ever see it again--it's always a treat), and 3. (to reiterate) no one knowing where the hell any of your mail is or will be (forcing you to return to the post office numerous times in as many weeks trying to figure out what the f*ck is going on---they never know). Pieces of advice: If you have to move from a clusterbox to a PO Box, god help you---you will likely never see weeks worth of mail again. If you change addresses, the last people to realize this will be the very people you filed the move with (the Incline staff), and they will unwittingly and carelessly return any mail sent to you (which will enter a black hole of lost mail for weeks on end--I never received a package mailed to me, and that package was not returned to the vender, either, for instance (I have about 203984 instances of this idiocy from them)). I have had to change addresses a few times while living in Incline and it is ALWAYS a shitshow. If you want to add a person to your PO Box, chances are they'll forget to do so, and they'll spend weeks trying to locate, say, their new bank card, or checks...to no avail. Then, you'll stop by the PO again to make sure the new name was added to the mailbox only to realize it never was amended. Who knows where all your friend's mail is now. I have had 3 experiences with their utter incompetence---I have 2 family members who also experienced this hell of lost mail and unaccountability w/ these guys---and I also have a friend who is now experiencing his 4th week of no answers as to why he is not receiving his mail in the PO Box he is assigned. I like the people who work there---they are very friendly--but jesus, carrier pigeons and pack mules put them to shame in terms of efficiency and any semblance of rational action. The worst post office.... I'm lucky if a package actually gets delivered. Then when you go into the post office to hopefully resolve the issue. You wait in line for 20-30 minutes and the staff member has zero knowledge or answers for you. Eventually you figure out most of the time that they "sent back to sender" . We are new to Incline Village. No mail delivered. Went to the post office and Jason told us two to three days to get it working after we fill out the new resident card. Still No delivery, went down today and same guy, Jason, tells us it may take months to get mail delivered. Everything mailed to date has been returned, and will continue to be rejected until a route opens. And he can't say when. So in the meantime the US Postal Service is not available. I received a tracking notice that my package had been delivered to Incline Village PO on Thursday at 11:53am. They still hadn't processed this at 4:30 pm on Thursday. I was told that they have 24 hours to process packages. Midday on Friday, still no package and I was told that they would definitely get done before closing. I went back at 4:25 Friday and no package. They told me they would put a key in my box for after hours pick up. Went back at 6:30, no key. One of the workers was putting mail in the boxes. I asked her about my package and she replied they were short today so no packages. And had a severe attitude with her response. Of course, Saturday had a package slip in my box. They are closed on Saturday! This is the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I will soon be changing my shipping to the postal annex!! read more

Unfortunately I'm trying to understand why the PO Boxes keep on going up and the service keeps on going down. So of course I know things change but I paid $12.25 a year and now I'm paying $188.00 a year definitely insane. I don't have a cluster box. I've had my PO box since the early 80s and I've only seen the service deteriorate. I had some presents shipped to my in-laws house, but unfortunately they were sent USPS. My in-laws don't have postal service so I went to the post office to collect the package, but the postal worker said the package may be there or not, but couldn't be bothered to check for a few days (until after Christmas). He said to assume that it was sent back to sender. They should at least keep the package for a day and let people pick up their packages. We don't have any control over which shipping company is chosen. read more

I went to try to get them to hold my packages. The lady I spoke to was as helpful as she could be. However the process with the United States Postal Service needs to be updated. They also need more staff. This is not the fault of this office. The workers at this office are doing the best they can under the above mentioned conditions. read more

I think this place has greatly improved since they got rid of the psychotic blonde woman. Depending on the day, service can be a little slow. I wish you could pick up packages on Saturday. The parking situation is terrible. A lot of the older people take up 2, 3, sometimes 4 spaces. A lot of the Audi, BMW, Mercedes owners do the same thing out of arrogance.
