This P.O is the worst. They lost a CERTIFIED LETTER!!!! unfortunately our street is a TRAINING STREET, and they have lost a plate that they stated was delivered (but I was home and not delivered). Now last week they lost a Certified Letter......fortunately I now get an email of all my mail that is to be delivered daily. So I have a copy of it. Was told they would speak with person on this route......but still no call back. My second time having issues with this place. I tried calling all day and no answer just a continuous ring. I thought someone answered but all I heard was the sound of someone "hanging up" so idk what that is but it is almost 7pm and not only has my mail not been delivered but an important package that was scheduled for delivery for today has not been delivered either. I've had great, GREAT and friendly service from this post office branch at the window, even with some pretty unruly customers there to give them grief. Why the three-star review then? Because it's really a five-star review for those people, averaged with a separate zero-star review for the folks in the back mail-sorting room, who steal about 20%, fully one-fifth, of anything I care to subscribe to by mail. Which is pretty awful for news magazines and international paper subscriptions. A new pope, a natural disaster or baby royal? Guaranteed I won't get it that week. My own mailbox is lock-and-key, and our mail carrier changes from year to year, so the Avalon Carson P.O. is the only point in the chain of delivery where this can be taking place. I really like this post office not only this is the nearest to my area but workers here are very helpful and respectful. I don't know why this branch only have 2 stars. I believe they don't deserve it. They are working so hard to serve the community and very friendly too! Always nice people who have great customer service at this location. It's a small but it does the job. The traffic flow is a one-way though, and the dropbox for convenient drop offs is not in the same parking structure but further into 213th St. The older gentleman Michael manning the line is funny, friendly and nice . They will steal gift cards out of the envelopes. There was a gift card from a relative in this envelope for our BABY and somebody ripped it open and stole it. $75 gone. They also never attempt to deliver packages in boxes. They don't even bother leaving the pick up slip. Was told yesterday that "they can't find" our large amazon box, even though the tracking number says it was last checked into this location. This post office used to be a pleasure to come to (as pleasurable as a trip to the post office could be). They have had a personnel change across the board. The last trip I made here a short stalky female Filipino employee was probably the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I asked her a question while in line (she was restocking supplies). She never turned around when speaking to me and rudely told me that the people who deliver the mail are mail carriers not delivery personnel. I spoke to her back the entire time. She is not fit to work with people as I observed her yell and snap at other customers in line. Today I came in to pick up a package, and another female employee pushed my package through the side window and rudely declares sign and print and pointed to a machine on the counter. She them said rudely and loudly "print your address" ! The machine did not work so she them barked "just press accept"! Who did this woman think she was talking to? And she never asked to see my identification so apparently one can pick up a package without showing prof of who they are as long as they have the slip that the mail carrier left. Management at this establishment needs to run an attitude adjustment training seminar as well as tighten up on policy and procedure. This post office is an embarrassment . read more

I've had 2-3 problems with them for missing/misplaced packages. One time, they left a note to pick up my package at the post office. And when I went, it wasn't there. They said it was delivered. Never thought I should have checked the reviews of a post office before mailing a package. I mailed a package on November 19th. I prepared the label online and had it picked up from my job in Carson. The branch picked it up and scanned it. Somehow it got lost between this location and the distribution center. I received an email on November 24th that it was going to be delayed. When I call the post office it rings forever. Then someone picks up the phone and hangs it up. I have submitted an email online to get help locating my package. I have called the 800 number several times with hold times over an hour. I have a case number. But no one responds. Every time I call there are no notes regarding my previous calls. No one cares that my package was lost. My tracking number has not been updated since November 24th. I haven't experienced such incompetence. When I inquired about getting a refund for my postage since my package was never delivered I was told I wouldn't get a refund. I am going to keep trying. The worst post office I have ever dealt with. Since living a quarter mile away from this post office over the last year I have had issue after issue after issue with mail delivery. Packages being placed in incorrect boxes with address clearly labeled, packages lost, and now complete lack of delivery. Everyone seems to be incompetent and apathetic whenever there's a mistake. I took my passport renewal items in person, mailed it off via priority with insurance. Clerk placed label on the envelope and checked the address in front of me. Why was the package delivered to MY address the next day when it was clearly supposed to be going to the passport processing center in Irving, Texas??? These postal workers could care less about actually doing their job appropriately. Anyone could easily read the "from" and "to" addresses and see that the mail should not be sent to the "from" address a quarter mile away. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS POST OFFICE. I'm forced to deal with them as they unfortunately service our condo complex. Good luck getting any sort of remedy for your issues. After complaints with the USPS consumer affairs office, you'll just get an apathetic phone call from the post master who just says "sorry" and "that shouldn't have happened." This is a 10 year vent! The services at this location are deplorable! I've dealt with this location for over 10 years and when I first dealt with them, the employees were so much better. In the complex I live in, if you had a package, the carrier would ring the bell and/or deliver to your door even if you weren't home. Now these current employees are sooooo lazy and just don't care about doing their job properly, they do as little as possible. For example, now when I receive a package, no one rings the bell to see if I'm home (and I'm home most days) or come inside to leave at my door for packages that do not require signature. They have a key but too lazy to do what they are paid to do and that is to deliver the frickin' mail! Secondly, they are too lazy to put the name of the sender on the package and the full name of the person receiving. I happen to have the same first letter and last name as the family member that I live with so no one knows who for sure it is for. After my father passed, I had soooooo many problems receiving packages that I shipped home. Thirdly, when going to this location, the employees there are not the most polite people. I've gone there to pick up a couple of packages and the person came back with just one. And I told her there should be two because it stated it was there after a failed delivery. She insisted that she brought out all there were and I too insisted because I didn't want to go check again only to find I was correct all along. Well, well, after insisting she go check again, guess what she found? The package I had insisted was back there! I realize people are human and make mistakes but this location seems as though they train their people to do just that...make mistakes constantly or do as little as possible. Doesn't anybody take pride in their work any more no matter what you do? Fourthly, I went in today to to pick up a package because of all I mentioned above and now this location has a (poor) system of certain windows for certain services. But guess what? None of the services are listed so who the hell knows which window is which? When I got there, the line was out the door. People waiting patiently in line only to find out that when they get to the window that they need to go to another window! How much sense does this make? I asked the Asian gentleman at window (whom is often sour) why don't you guys put on the signs what the each line the service is for. Well he just looked at me for a while and just shrug like "I don't know and I don't care" WOW what a surprise. Finally I decided to call the location to speak to a manager (I was very sweet and pleasant because you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar) and I spoke to a Kim and she went to transfer me but left me on hold for 5 minutes without even a check back in. While I was on hold, I called from another phone and told Kim I was still on hold and that it was a bit rude to not check back with me. She told me the manager was on the phone and she thought the manager had picked it up and she herself was on another call. Well call me suspicious but I think phone line systems, indicate who's on what line and if someone is on hold. Nonetheless, I remained calm and pleasant. I held a bit longer and Kim came back and said she's still on the phone. Do you want to leave your number and she'll call back? I told her unfortunately I don't have much success with people actually calling back when they say they would. I asked if there was a better time and was told in about 10-15 minutes. Currently as I type this, we are playing this the manager is still on the phone game. Why, I'm not sure. All I wanted to do was not fuss or fight but express some concerns and offer some suggestions. Kelly called back and I voiced some concerns and we got cut off and to my surprise, she didn't attempt to call back. I finally got her back after a couple attempts and being left on hold again. She assured me she would address the package issue but not much was said on the systems in place at the location. So it seems everyone has to stand in line and it will be a crap shoot if you will be directed away from one window to another...real efficient and respectful of customer's time! The post office located inside of the Carson Mail (20700 Avalon Blvd) is soooooooooo much friendlier and efficient...I prefer that one so much more but my failed package deliveries go to the location I don't care for. read more

OK I went to the post office today to pick up 2 packages. What took me by surprise was that I had to pay the stamps that the sender sent me. The sender already paid stamps on and already had the tracking number which showed that the USPS approved the package. If the sender didn't put any stamps the USPS wouldn't approve it. Here's what REALLY stinks! Less than ONE MILE away from this Post Office is a SECOND US Post Office on Avalon and the SOUTH end of Carson has NONE. Sadly there are significant delays at both, especially during the Christmas season. The employees are SO slow and care less if the line goes out to the main doors. The next closest USPS is Harbor City or Wilmington. And God help you if you have a Notice Card, where you weren't home to sign for a package? You will be there quite some time before ever they find it and do those people walk slow? *** Here is more... Three months ago I had a REGISTERED package that 'Tracking' said was "DELIVERED" to me (not) at 4:00PM.... The problem is my postman was at my home at 10:20AM that same day ~ as recorded on my security cameras. *** When I provided the USPS printout of the transaction to my postman he said he would 'Look into it" and I never heard from him OR my package again. The here is even more bad news... IF the "Tracking Information" says your package was delivered and it wasn't ~ we are SOL and we have ZERO recourse. I was supposed to get a package delivered on Thursday but didn't, was rescheduled for Saturday but the package was at the post office so I called and asked if I could come pick it up. The first time the woman said call back in 15 minutes so I did, when I called back she said she couldn't find it and to call back in 45 minutes, when I called back a new woman answered and said they were unable to locate the package for me to pick up because it was past the time that they could do that and the new lady was very rude about it and wouldn't listen to anything I had to say. I told her it was time sensitive and that I needed it that day and she wouldn't even try to work with me. Come Saturday, the mail got delivered and the package did not and of course they are closed on Saturday so I won't be able to contact them until Monday. Terribly inefficient! When I moved from one Carson address to another, this post office was responsible for forwarding my mail and delivering, since I was in the same area. I did not receive numerous items, some very important such as checks, until five months later! In addition, I recently received one of the little brown post cards from the USPS in my mailbox, stating that I needed to come to the post office to pick up a parcel. I showed up at the post office two days later with my brown notification card and i.d., as required. I was told by the postal employee that they had given my package to somebody else BUT that it wasn't the post office's fault! The manager, or whatever title she has, stated that the person should not have taken the package if they knew it wasn't for them. What??? The thing is, they required me to show my i.d. with my current address before they would even look for the package. So how did somebody else who is not me and not at my address pick up MY package if a valid i.d. is required? She further suggested that I report it lost or stolen to the sender. This is so far beyond acceptable from any establishment. If you live in this area and can request that your packages be sent via other means, absolutely choose an option other than Carson USPS! read more

My name is Dominic Lee I am writing in to inform you of the unprofessional misconduct at the Carson USPS location. I have been a faithful customer for over ten years. Since the Carson location happens to be three blocks from my job Sprint inc, this would be my home location. I ordered a package from Amazon which was set to deliver on July 23, 2017. I specified for the package to be delivered to my job 20769 Avalon Carson 90746 when we opened at 11 AM Not only was my package miscanned and updates from the website told me my package was delivered to my job at 9:32 AM and a notice was left which it was not, this had to be an error because I left specific instructions, also it stated only that my package was scanned in at 9:32 AM at the Downtown Long beach USPS. I then waited to have the package redelivered to my place of employment since this was stated online that since my package was not delivered to my location it would be delivered the next business day in the same notice it also stated that my package would be held for fifteen additional days at the Carson USPS location. I drove from my house at 11:00 AM because I knew the mail gets delivered at 11:00 AM at my job. I live in Long Beach, I got to my job at 11:37 AM. The mail had already been delivered and my package was not. I then proceeded to drive to the Carson USPS branch. I was told my package was at the long beach station I asked how could be and was told that it NEVER reached the Carson branch. I drove back to Long beach's Branch. Where I Spoke to a supervisor whom informed me that they were opened Sunday only set to deliver Amazon packages, she told me she's not sure why Carson would even send me here due to knowing each branch has a person pick up mail the next day that was not picked up. I then asked her to call Carson, she did and spoke to a supervisor. I drove back to my job just to see if more mail was delivered, no additional mail was received . I drove back to the Carson UPSP Branch were I spoke to the supervisor Angela, I expressed to her my situation. She responded with a excuse . I grew upset ''I have spent gas, time and no one can call the driver and see if my package is there''. She stated that she could not and I needed to wait til six o'clock or eight o'clock . I told her "No", this is ludicrous. Seeing how I was suppose to receive and paid for this to be delivered Sunday. She stated " I don't have time for this I am busy and have things to do." I asked for her name and she said Angela I asked for her manager she told me she works in Long beach her name is Kelly I asked what was her last name she told me she doesn't have one. Although this may seem trivial this is in-fact crucial in terms of my gas ,my time , and my business. She has no clue what I order nor did she care and seeing how I placed this order and had it set to deliver on Sunday this was time sensitive. I will never comeback to this branch and will be telling everyone I know that management at the Carson branch can care less about their clients because they are to busy to help someone find a package that their location has. This was the worst experience I have had at any post office I would rather drive to Torrance or Compton's branch in order to receive better service. read more

Every time I sign up for a scheduled pick up (boxes) my mail carrier doesn't pick them up! I go to the post office, and they can NEVER find the Supervisor. They are a business unto themselves and answer to NO ONE! By the time I get there to drop off the boxes, I'm so mad. I'm sure the patrons hate it, I hate it. On August 24, 2018 at about 4:12 pm it was a package being shipped to Spring Hill, TN from this location and I have already contacted the postal inspector, I just hate when people STEAL! well the box had a nike gift card when the box got to Spring Hill, TN on August 27, 2018 the gift card was gone all that was left of the gift card was the card part that the gift card was attached too. Also it was some men body wash and the tampered seal was missing and the bottle was open it looked like someone open it to smell it. When the person placed the tape back on the box it was very sloppy. Our Post Office here in Spring Hill, TN I never had any thing like this to happen been doing business with them for 25 years. The only good thing is the box was insured. I believe this Carson, Calif location need cameras on site also do a better job on back ground checks on their employees.
