It's a very busy post office - don't look for an in and out experience. However, everyone behind the counter was friendly and helpful - even to the rudest of customers. They took time to explain what was needed if you made an error, allowed people to correct it right there without having to get back in line, and ensured all information was provided for a thorough experience. Did you know? If you have a box that says wine or vino on it they can't take it!? You have to mark out anything related to and then they can. Never knew! Or if you are shipping books, you can have a certain type of discount applied to your shipping cost! read more

Worst postal service I've ever received in my life. Consistently rude, condescending postal workers on a power trip over the past 5 years. Arbitrarily stopped delivering mail a month ago. They've opted to just return mail to sender for the past month and stop delivering my mail / end service -- without telling me. Priority mail dropped off at post office 3/10/25 from Fl to NC. Been floating around from Cary to Raliegh and back since 3/14/25. Everyday says package will arrive and it doesn't. Bottom line: This USPS location has some pluses in having Saturday service desk hours, passport appointment hours, etc. but my experiences here have been meh for the most part. I've been to USPS offices with more positive or faster service, but then again I've been to other locations with more negative interactions/service. 3 stars at the very most. The Deets: I've been to this USPS location quite a few times over the years. I've had decent experiences here, but nothing over the top. I can sum up my impression as...meh. The location itself has a good but not a huge amount of parking, it can get pretty hectic during peak times. It has a pretty nice sized lobby with offering the usual self serve options including PO boxes, postage purchase, mail drop off, etc. They have passport appointment times and passport photo service as well. I have to say most of the times I have come here, there have been lines to get to the service desk but it seems to move pretty well, not annoyingly slow. In my interactions at the service desk, I've had some good ones and not so good ones. My most recent one, the representative got the job done but was not overly friendly. This person did not display an overly happy attitude about helping me out with my fairly routine postal service item, but as I said got the job done. For convenience and for certain services offered or days of the week open (they have service desk hours on Saturday, for example), this location can do the trick but nothing stellar beyond the normal. read more

I was in the Cary area and needed to drop a package off during the peak of lunch time. You would never be able to find this USPS without locating it on the GPS. I arrived to a large parking a lot with only a few cars. I was in and out in an instant! The customer service was also top notch, which I don't say often but there! I said it! This location has ample parking with handicap access, indoor stamp machines, multiple driver side roadside mailboxes so you can drop off your mail from your vehicle, the indoor service counter has over four service counters, large package services and other special delivery options, fast counter service. They also have a well lighted parking for the inside evening post office boxes and drop boxes. read more

It's 12/17 and it appears that we will be going through the entire holiday season without a functioning package drop. The big metal pull down chute has been broken for at least 4 months. I have ask on multiple occasions when it will be fixed and every time I get "the parts are on order". Not acceptable !! The self service kiosk is pretty much NON FUNCTIONAL because there is no place to deposit your packages on off hours. I buy all of my postage for packages online and I used to come by and drop them in the chute whenever I check my PO Box. Now I have to wait until the Post Office opens for business in order to drop them in the big bin which is located INSIDE the facility. This really shows a lack of planning on the part of USPS. How hard could it be to repair a metal chute !!!! Wish there was more competition for USPS. This is an unacceptable situation for their customers. read more

This has to have been one of the better PO service experiences I've had in a long time. Appointment made for passport, arrive early, get money order bought and head to appointment. The clerk processing my money order was very patient with me as I looked through my paperwork to verify the correct amount. The folks conducting the interview and reviewing my paperwork for my passport were very courteous, professional AND personable. Great attitudes all the way around. Very glad I made this appointment at this facility. read more

Post Offices can be hit or miss places sometimes. I've been to some where the employees are one step away from being devil spawn, but then there are others where they have the ideal customer-service attitude. This Cary Post Office thankfully has more of the latter: friendly, helpful, efficient workers. For the most part, I've never had a problem with this location. I do admit they need to do some sprucing up of the building, and they have been doing that over the last couple of years, but there's just something "errrrr" about it yet. Still, I've never had a real issue, the lines get long on the weekends and late afternoon, but this location has their efficiency processes down. They'll take anyone with only a package pickup or only a drop-off, out of that long line into a much shorter (and quicker) one. Parking is a problem when it's busy, so come during non-peak times or drive aimlessly waiting for a spot. Either way, you could do much worse than stopping at this location. read more

I had a package that I had to pick up at the post office today. With it being so close to Christmas the lines were long! I have to say that everyone working the counters were happy, smiling, pleasant and very quick! My package was quickly found and the gentleman even took it out and loaded in my car. We've lived in Cary for 3 months now, in that time roughly 90 days, the Cary post office has lost 3 of our packages with little to no help. One of the packages I was told to cancel and reorder, and it was sitting within arms reach of their desk. How they manage to be seemingly so inept in shocking. I dread anytime I order something and see USPS as the shipping company because I know that there is a 50/50 chance I will not get my delivery. read more

The three stars are for the tall Black gentleman who is always fast and helpful and every other person who works at this location! There is this lady that works there her name is T.C.... she has no business working in public service. I have never met anyone as miserable as this woman. January to December, Monday to Saturday doesn't matter. She is always visibly grumpy. I have given up my space numerous times just to avoid getting her. She is always so curt and rude in the way she talks. I have come to realize it's her personality but gosh, it's very off-putting. read more

This post office is one of the most helpful that I have used since moving to NC. Most of the staff is attentive, friendly, courteous, helpful, etc. --- kudos to the regulars assisting me: Ms. Lorraine, Ms. Grace, Mr. Jonathan, Mr. Preston just to name a few -- others too sorry if I cannot recall a few names at the moment. The parking can be tricky during peak times just like other locations. The inside was redone but in my opinion, it is a little drab looking at gray walls. Perhaps, some collage or something can give it a warm and welcome feeling to both customers and staff. Even scheduling a passport appointment left a message, received a call quickly. Although, a significant delay to get an appointment but person was polite and scheduled as quickly as possible close to 12 weeks out. The process was simple having paperwork completed and photos taken by AAA to bring with all necessary documentation. Hoping that the renewal process will be a breeze! I've been here a couple times, and it seems like a perfect microcosm of why the USPS is bleeding money. It's a little run-down, in an inconvenient location, constantly crowded, and horrifically slow. And the last time I was there, the credit card system was down. Meaning that people who don't still live in the mid-90s couldn't pay. Like me, who usually only carries my credit and debit cards. Never get a response from their consumer affairs person. The ms carrier is rude and obnoxious. They returned an order to China saying I moved and left no forwarding address. They delivered the wrong mail to my house, I marked the envelope as such and left a note on the mailbox. Not only didn't the carrier bother reading the note, he didn't even open the box and leave the days mail that showed in my Informed Delivery email for that today. When I asked him the next day why he didn't leave my mail he said because he couldn't read my note. Must be illiterate because it was printed neatly. The truth is he didn't bother. read more

My package was lost in the mail over two months ago. One way or another the package made it to my apartment complex and into the hands of the leasing office. The leasing office gave the package back to the delivery driver to put into the correct mailbox. The box was never put in the mailbox but placed in the system as delivered. After opening two cases for the lost package, speaking to the delivery driver himself, several calls to customer service, and trying to figure out where the box could be with poor service and incompetent staff at the post office, I still have yet to receive any answers. I would place a claim on the package but the tracking number no longer works to do this online since so much time has gone by, even though the manager onsite truly believes you can do this with an expired tracking number. The post office stole my package. Went to the post office today to locate my lost package and was told by the manager's supervisor that it was pretty much my fault since I didn't get insurance for it. Was told to come back today by the manager from Saturday to speak to someone under them who would know the tracking system better and could escalate the issue. Found out at the desk the person isn't going to be in all week - someone should tell the manager. No one is willing to take accountability for losing items even if it is the fault of the delivery driver for entering the package as delivered when it was not. read more

This post office is great and it sometimes just depends on the timing if you the lines are long or not. They staff here gets everyone through as quickly as possible. I can also mail boxes to military APO addresses and they know how to handle. I have been disappointed with the Dolphin location and other after-hours locations because they never want to mail my APO boxes. They can do it but just choose not to. This review is for the Wrenn Drive, Cary NC post office. The lady who delivers our mail is too lazy to get out her truck and deliver packages that require signature. She leaves a miss delivery notice in the mail box. When we complained about her to the Urban supervisor at the Wrenn Drive, Cary NC location, we didn't hear back with any update. The issue persisted so I went and asked for the same rural supervisor, at first he wouldn't tell me anything and then he told me that the mail delivery lady feels there is a security risk in ringing our door bell. What a lie! We don't have a dog or anything that will pose any threat to her. This is their scapegoat statement to cover up their laziness. Since then the lady is purposely don't delivering our mail anytime the kids are playing in the drive way. P.S. they are all minors. My zip code is 27513 and I am really frustrated with the system. The post master is not doing anything at all. Not even returning our calls. Has anyone else experiencing a similar issue with their mail. BTW, we get our neighbors mail quite often. No one picks our phone when we tried several time to reach the post master. read more

I'm not sure WHY but the mail delivery people here will NOT deliver my mail if there is a car within 5 ft of my mailbox. Period! I cannot control where my neighbors park their cars.. yet I am being punished for it. I've watched the mail go right on back for 3 days in a row because a car was parked near my mailbox, not in front of it, at least 5 ft away.. ALSO they are closed when it snows, and mail is not delivered! Everyone else is out on the town, and most stores are open, yet they are closed and not delivering mail... I wish I didn't have to leave a star at all....they LIED and put delivered on my tracking number..when clearly it wasn't delivered...I called twice to the local post office and received no answer at all...I called back and ANN hung up on me...then I call back to get a dude who asked for my address and placed me on hold for 1 hr and 5 mins...I hang up and call back now NO ONE ANSWERS...this place is a joke...I will NEVER use the postal service again...horrible customer service...horrible, lying mail carriers....they should just do away with the post office if all they do is lose packages and hang up on folks.. read more

I have a package that has been missing and undelivered since December 8th, I filed a case online for it and it was sent to this location to be resolved. I called on three separate occasions and spoke to Thomas one of their supervisors. All three times they took my name address and phone number stating he would contact me back, still have not heard anything and they are putting no effort into finding my package or remedying the situation the package was supposed to be here for Christmas and they have shown zero importance to my case. Without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever received at a post office. Had a very simple question about what forms I needed to apply for a passport. The clerk at the counter was very short with me, had a condescending tone and acted as if helping customers was a total annoyance. If that was the only problem I wouldn't be typing this review... So she gives me a photocopied sheet with phone numbers to post offices that *might* be able to help me (she informed me that they were booked through end of August and it would be impossible for them to help). All the numbers listed for Raleigh/Durham/Cary WERE DISCONNECTED. I looked at the bottom right corner of sheet and it was printed in April 2011... I mean can no one update the list IN TWO YEARS? Poor customer service, apathetic attitudes, and total indifference to customers.... no wonder the post office is becoming obsolete... read more

We have had countless errors and delays with deliveries. We often get neighbors' mail, and I'm sure they get ours too. Most people are kind enough to put wrongfully delivered mail back in their boxes for redelivery or walk it over to the correct address themselves. I do wonder how much mail goes thrown out instead. Package delivery is so bad that now I list my work as a delivery address instead of home. I also don't trust them to pick up mail anymore, driving it out to the post office myself or mailing from work instead. There is not a way to contact a supervisor or call the branch directory from the website, only an 800 number that is computer operated, no human interaction. read more

I would give negative stars if this were an option. This location is useless. Mail is not delivered timely if at all, and when you call to locate a package or letter, you will likely get a busy tone for hours. If you get a person, you will be placed on hold, regardless of what you need, for at least 40 minutes. Eventually, you will have to hang up and try again or go down there. We're a business and require daily mail delivery, preferably timely. Terrible service. read more

I submitted a change of address and forwarding request after moving from one house to another on the same street. My mail has been "lost" and rerouted to previous owner in FL and my prescription meds sent somewhere in VA. I have received no mail for 7 working days and they will only answer phone sporadically. After 1 1/2 hr I reached a postal employee who curt and had no desire to assist. I was obviously a bother and she was not interested in my problem, simply saying it takes "two weeks" for forwarding to take effect. read more
