The post office has much approved but still it is the only post office that will not provide a receipt if you ask for one. I researched online if they are required to provide receipts and yes, the post office is required to provide one if you request it. It does not matter how many packages you have. Online it says, that if a post office staff person says they will not provide you with one then ask to speak to her supervisor. It is within your rights to get a receipt. But it seems this post office does not like to provide receipts, why is that? I wrote directly to the US Post Office headquarters in regards to this issue as it is concerning to me. I know my rights but this is my neighborhood post office. I just want the staff to follow the law and not find excuses. read more

I wish I could give negative reviews. I've been here previously for passport applications and has no issue but always left thinking "they were kinda rude" but always brushed it off. today I came in alone with my 4 month old to get her a passport. if you're a parent you know gathering paperwork (mind you they can't even provide applications right now so I had to print my own) and get out of the house is hard enough. and then to be treated with disrespect is just not how we should be treated. The girl with black hair and glasses was rude last week when I was in and then rude again today when I came back. I let her know I won't be coming back because I don't like how rude she is when she talks to me and she replied "ok byyye". I would write our whole encounter but it doesn't matter, point is, don't go here if you want to be treated with respect and friendliness. A big shout out to the ladies, who helped us get our passports taken care of, after we were turned away from Aptos post office with an appointment mind you. Their reason being that my son(16 years old) whom I have guardianship of, needed proof and paperwork of the guardianship. We were turned away and had to reschedule and were greeted by super helpful and super friendly ladies at the Castroville post office, who told us that since he is 16 years old, he is considered an adult when it comes to passport and none of that paperwork that Aptos was requiring was necessary. They did our paperwork and sent us off and even took us before our appointment all with a smile. Thank you so much ladies. read more

Small post office. Most of employees here are kind of rude and treat you like they just don't care. No friendly smiling faces here. They barely give you eye contact. I only come here if I have to. The parking lot is small and really awkward to get into. I'd park on the street if you can find a spot. read more

If you're not Hispanic I would advise not going into this post office because they treat you like absolute sh*t. My mother was simply trying to mail a package out for me because I use poshmark as a way to buy my daughter diapers and formula. My mother asked if there was anywhere to go to print out the pre paid shipping label she said no and escorted her out. Why? I don't know. I just called and her name is Maria. I asked for the supervisor Carmella but she's gone for two weeks. Anytime I go into Castroville I am looked at like a piece of meat or like I shouldn't be there because I don't speak fluent Spanish. It's not right. We have never treated anyone of a different race badly but we get treated like this in a place we have lived all our lives. I'm sick of it. Oh and if I could give 0 stars I would. This post office doesn't deserve the one star. Also read that DONT even print out receipts for you once you mail something off. Too lazy? I don't know. But you are supposed to. read more

The staff here is always been very helpful. The gal who delivers our mail for my work could not be nicer. She has delivered our mail to our door since our mailbox got smashed in with the back. I have called the post office a couple of times when she was running late because we had packages to go out and they have expressly called her to see if she would be able to come by our business before we close at 4 PM. I called the Castroville post office to ask a simple question and the person that answered was very rude! My question was about a pick up at a certain location in town. I told the gal "I don't think you're understanding my question" because her answer did not pertain to my question, and she then rudely replied "NO, YOU'RE NOT UNDERSTANDING" I was beyond shocked at their customer service! I asked the lady with curly hair working the front counter "What is a First Class stamp worth now" and she did not know. She had an attitude like "I think it is $0.44." She said to put two stamps on my letter. I went home and realized she was wrong and one stamp would have been enough. Complete half-as*ed attitude that caused me to waste a stamp. If a USPS worker does not know the value of a stamp, what does that say about that worker. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. We dropped off 3 packages today and I asked for a receipt to show that I mailed them. The lady employee said they just scan them and that's all we needed so again I asked for a receipt she then replied we don't do that. If I could give 0 stars I would. The lady with curly hair up front is INCREDIBLY rude and makes you feel terrible. She completely ruined my day. I seriously don't know how anyone would hire such a nasty human being. I hope she sees this. Ok I go in to get a change of address and she says in a very rude with attitude voice "it's on the wall" and mind you there's quite a few papers on the wall none that say in big letters "change of address" so how am I fucking supposed to know, like I work there right? So I'm looking around and she laughs to herself in a very rude way and says "uhhh in the blue????" and I find it and just leave.
