Love going to this post office.. everyone is kind and helpful!! And the hours are great too

I have lived in Moon for five years now and have nothing but good things to say about this office. They've been always friendly, recommending the best way to ship my packages, and helpful in many ways. Several times when we had issues with forwarding our mail, my husband called the office and the problems were fixed right away. Overall, very positive experience. read more

I've only lived here a year but have been pleased so far. However, in the last two weeks while being a good Samaritan picking up trash on the main road, I've found two of my bank statements (with my high savings and account numbers inside). This happened on two separate occasions a week apart and now am freaking out. Concerned carrier not using enough caution and can't complain directly as something like this never goes well. Please use caution if you notice things are missing and sign up for email delivery where possible. read more

Most of the people in this moon post office are miserable. It is a shame they make decent money for a public job and are so miserable and not very helpful. Go to a different branch where people are nice. read more

Zero stars. Only yelp won't let me do that, so 1 grudgingly. Lisa poor customer service, 12 people in line and only one working the desk, taking her sweet ass time to do her job. Nice purple hair though. read more

There is a reason I now use the self serve postal machine at this post office. I have witnessed employees throw things in anger at each other, I have dealt with their bad attitudes, not to mention the enormous wait lines. And speaking of waiting...when waiting in line...do not...and I repeat, DO NOT stand past the "wait here" sign. I was probably less than an inch past it and got yelled at by an employee to STAND BACK. If I do feel like I need to deal with actual people, I go to the Sewickley Post Office. Got my passport there and they were efficient and very polite/friendly. I have also used the post office in Crescent to mail out a big package and again, had a good experience although their hours are a little wacky/inconvenient. I have lived in Moon all of life and after years of dealing with the Moon office, I just can't take it anymore. read more

The only nice people there are the old guy and other guy both on seperate ends. The women there are just rude. Very understaffed. If you don't have to wait in a growing line you really lucked out. read more

Smile ...it goes a long way. Not always the friendliest of staff at the front counter.

During these uncertain times it is refreshing and encouraging to receive friendly, professional help with a seemingly unsolvable problem (according to the official USPS requirements). I explained my problem to Bill and he interceded for me and provided the solution. I assume that the negative reviews are anomalies as I have had excellent service from my carrier, the desk help, and management. read more

And the people are so "I don't give a shxx" attitude it is embarrassing. You'd think they were millenniums not the baby boomers they are but without a work ethic. This post office is the WORST. Before I knew how long the lines could get, I would go on my lunch hour. Literally would be in line for 30-45 minutes. You would think at the busiest times they would staff TWO people instead of ONE, but that never seems to happen. I then started stopping in the morning to avoid the lunch rush. That didn't seem to matter. This place is busy any time of the day, and out of FIVE stations, the most I've ever seen open are TWO. The only saving grace is they have a drive-thru drop box, as well as a reception area where you can buy your own stamps out of the machine. read more

I go out of my way NOT to use this post office unless I absolutely have to. For openers, the parking lot is much too small for the traffic it handles, and the drive-thru line to the large outside mail box ties up traffic, while intellectual delinquents hold up everyone in line while they put stamps on their outgoing letters, which they should have done at home.....sheesh! . Inside, the line can be a 2-3 minute wait - or a 30 minute wait, depending on the time of day. At most, I have only seen 2 employees at the counter, and God forbid, someone shows up wanting a passport. Their bedside manners leave much to be desired. Ergo, they are just putting in their time. They work in 2 speeds - slow, and stop. One morning, I decided to get there when they opened - I was there, the place was wide open, but where was everyone else? Even a few manly shouts of HELLO? ANYBODY HERE? failed to produce someone to help me (I could have robbed them blind and walked out unnoticed). So I waited, and waited, and after 9 minutes, someone magically appeared with a look on his face that said I had taken him away from his coffee and Egg McMuffin. Granted nothing can be done about the little old grannies who feel they need to look at every single stamp design before they eventually purchase 3 of these, and 5 of those, and 1 of that one, etc, etc. That ties up a clerk for 5-10 minutes. MY solution -- I go to the post office down the hill in Coraopolis on 5th avenue. I get in and out of there fairly quickly, and the employees actually smile and care about your business!! My other source is the post office across the Sewickey bridge and north to the Quaker Valley Shopping Plaza - way in the back past Giant Eagle and the barber shop. I'm in and out in 2 minutes. And all this brings up another question -- why are there 2 post offices for zip code 15108, and why do i live in Moon Township, but all my mail is addressed to me in Coraopolis? read more

Oh. My. God. Be careful who is behind the counter. This is about the blonde lady that seems to always be there. Middle booth. I took a small box containing a couple plants to be mailed priority mail. I had poked holes here and there into the box for transpiration during transportation and I drew some "up arrows" on the sides. (I know, the studies indicate that these are pretty much useless, but i'm the optimistic type so I always have hope). She asked me the usual questions about lithium batteries, perfume, etc. Then she asked if the box contained a live animal. I said "no ". She said, "are you sure?" "Yes, I am sure." She proceeded (with attitude) to wrap tape round and round the box to cover all the holes. (And trust me, I ship a lot of things and no extra tape was needed). Next, she flipped the box on its side and said, " and just so you know, we're not going to pay any attention to the arrows. You can't write on the outside of the box". I've dealt with her before and can assure you that her Wheaties are pretty much contaminated every morning, but there clearly must've been something extra in them on that particular day. I know that IF I ever enter that post again and she is behind the counter, it will be the rare occasion when I hope for a line so that I can assess the situation and leave. You're better off going to a different office or even a ups or fedex and paying extra. This post office really shows you what a waste of tax dollars looks like. If you get this old blonde worker there watch out. She has so much sass, usually I just put up with it but not this time I wasn't going to go all the way home to repack something that would be accepted by a normal worker. Honestly today was the last day I'll be going to that post office ever! read more

This is THE ABSOLUTE WORST post office. All but one employee (Pete) that I have encountered there is slow, grumpy and continually "confused" to say the least. I have been going there for almost 15 years and it's almost ALWAYS a bad experience :( Today was the last straw. I went there on my lunch hour - the line was out the door and there was only one employee behind the counter!!! Of course this one employee was extremely slow :( I turned around and walked out. When I called later to discuss the situation with the postmaster, he LIED and told me he always has 3 or 4 people at the counter !?!?!? read more

The Moon Township post office is really the worst. I have been traveling for the past six years and have been to many post offices. The two people I have dealt with the most are Joseph and Pete and they are incredibly rude every time I go in OR call. Pete is the most impolite and condescending human being I have ever met. They lack personalities and need customer service training immediately. read more
