I am becoming so annoyed with the US Post Office, I never have this problem with FedX or UPS Store. I took a number -- THEN a postal employee told me I could just put them in the postal receptacle. I hauled these boxes to said receptacles. Two guys had the same situation. They caught on, and we had a party of getting everybody's said postage-paid packages into the receptacles. One of mine was kinda big. One of the guys smushed it in. It's lovely to get assistance from a stranger. And then we laughed.

As I usually have pre-paid labels, I often can sail in and out by simply dropping my package on the closest counter, after scanning it on the machine in the lobby. The one thing that remains a mystery, though I would venture guess that they would tell me if asked, is that the parking lot is almost always jammed - and there are like three patrons inside. I drop off packages and they tend to never make it out of the post office and are in "Pre-transit" for a month until I receive a note from a customer that they have never received their package which unfortunately looks bad on me.
