I've lived in my current residence in Fair Oaks for seven years. Over that period of time, we commonly receive our neighbors mail and our neighbors often bring our mail to us - important pieces of mail - bank statements, DMV registration/license documents, investment statements, credit card statements. In the past few months it's been horrible. Several times a week I get the wrong mail for which I either deliver to neighbors or highlight the address and write a note to the postal worker to note the address. Recently we never received a important document from the court and now received a Failure to Appear and a big fat fine! My guess is that it went to someone else who didn't take the time to ensure it got to us!!!!! This problem is a big one and needs to be fixed!!!!!!!!!! read more

My mail comes up missing daily. I called the office about this issue and was told that "your route doesn't have a permanent carrier." What does this have to do with the carrier not being able to read? I had a neighbor bring me mail twice and my son's bank card(s) has still yet to arrive and it's been since Oct 22, 2020. Today is November 3, 2020. My car registration was never put in my box. DMV had to send me another sticker. Then important information I sent CERTIFIED MAIL W/RETURN RECEIPT to the IRS has yet to be received by the IRS. No return receipt yet!! I honestly believe it's the mailman. I've made complaints at the 800 number to only receive an email stating the my case has been resolved. Well, I'm unclear how... especially when I heard a representative in the background LITERALLY saying "that's bullshit. She called already 4 times. I'm just going to take the phone off the hook!!" And that she did. This is not a nice place to go mail letters, or packages. Customer service orientation is clearly needed for some workers at this branch. This needs to really be looked in to. Be safe going here. I travel 30 minutes to the post office in Elk Grove where I moved from. I've been in this area for a year now and I had to change everything to my PO Box to make sure I received my mail. Sad and sacred. I had to report this to the IRS and credit report seeing as I am the victim of fraud. read more

The employees at this post office (Fair Oaks) are always friendly and efficient. I have been using this post office from 2006-2015. I appreciate how fast they always are. I enjoy using this location because of the fast & friendly employees. read more

Sitting on my couch waiting for a package and I get an email saying "Sorry we missed you." No slip on the door, or anything. Apparently these clowns will just report a failed attempt to deliver a package if they feel like going home early for the day. Leaving us customers, the ones who've paid for two-day shipping, with no recourse. It's a shame we can't put the USPS out of business. read more

I have had mail delivery issues (specifically getting checks to actually arrive at my business) I have filed 3 complaints with my post office in question. 2 were "acknowledged" with an email address and contact phone number from my "post master" and the email address doesn't exist and the phone number is some random land line. Been calling this consumer affairs office (like the main USPS 800# rep told me too) for the last 7 business days machine says Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm but they never answer and have no ability to leave a message. Glad some one can steal my mail and no one will do a thing about it! read more

Our office always receives professional courteous service. Because patrons wait to the last minute to mail they should expect a line, and as I too have stood in line the last few mailing days because I had business mail, I watched the entire staff asked to handle unprepared packages with expectation to wrap and label which should be by the customer before getting into line. If I could give this location negative reviews I would. They are a JOKE they tried to tell me that my passport was stolen out of my mailbox in the 20 minutes between it being delivered and someone going out to the mailbox to bring the mail into the house. They tried to tell me that there are known squatters that live all over the street and that they steal mail all the time and that fair oaks has a known mail theft issue.... which is ridiculous because my parents have lived there for 20 years and never had an issue.... yet with the new mail man mail is all over the place. It's really to bad because supposedly the usps is getting cut back.... I will no longer use usps services and move over to FedEx or ups.... I would rather pay an extra couple bucks then to be told that basically it's my fault for not having mail delivered because there is no secure place to put it. read more

I was so impressed by the quick response from Kevin at the Fair Oaks Post Office. I called with a concern about mail delivery and the central office opened an investigation. Within minutes I received a call from Kevin from the Fair Oaks office. I missed the call, but he left a message. I tried calling back over 20 times and the operator kept hanging up on me. The next morning I was about to go down in person when Kevin tried calling again. I was so pleased with his quick reply and that he tried again the next day when he could not get a hold of me! read more

There is something very wrong with this post office and its employees - they are incompetent, lie, and don't care how bad of a job they do ( federal employee job). My disabled mothers mail has been thrown on her porch instead of put in the mail slot ( right on the porch), bank statements and all. they also continuously deliver it to the street box which we have an exemption since she is disabled ( hence the mail slot in the house), even with big letters on the street box ' DELIVER MAIL TO HOUSE', either they are stupid and can't read or just don't give a sh**. or both.Ive complained to the branch in person and also to the federal hotline. Last week my moms mail was found unopened in a neighbors trash - when we opened the street box it was full of wet mail. I complained to the branch and got a standard brush off and 'we'll look into it" i also opened a federal complaint and a police report. i never heard back from the federal report ( i was supposed to in 2-3 days. when i called ( on hold for 1 hour) they said they has noted that they had talked to me and that they told me they are" giving more training to the employee". Really? no one called me- an outright lie. i double checked the phone number with the operator, it was correct. she was very apologetic and said it ( lying) happens ' more than it should". I now have escalated the case to the dept of consumer affairs ( 916-373-8630, after you open a complaint with PO you can escalate it if you have any problems)), hopefully i will get some results, these slackers don't deserve to be let off the hook. If you have similar problems don't call the FO branch- they are useless- call 1800-610-8734 and file a complaint or go online and file one. read more

So I've had an up & down relationship with this post office. Today broke the straw on the camels back. There was one lady in front of me being helped at the window and a couple ladies who were still sealing up their parcels. My turn came up and I said I wanted to mail my bubble envelope and birthday card to Canada. The Asian lady employee with an almost undecipherable accent was very busy charging me for my bubble envelope and birthday card which I purchased there at the post office but she was SO busy doing I don't know what that she shuffled me over to the side to write my customs form and never charged me for postage. Then when i thought about it I looked at the receipt and realized she didn't charge me. I waited patiently for the new customer to be done she says to me while waving me off "oh you go get back in line"! What?? Really?? I already waited. She was in such a hurry she must've forgot about CUSTOMER SERVICE!! So i went to the front of the line and waited for the next clerk who didn't understand why i was back up to the window. I said THAT LADY didn't finish our transaction. Then the new clerk proceeds to sticker up my envelope without asking which postal service I wanted. After she did the customs form i asked her if she was going to tell me my postage options. Oh! She says sorry i didn't know! Off the sticker comes, more labels for me to write and more wasted time! I'm lit, can you tell? Maybe the Asian lady didn't like me for some reason or maybe it was lunchtime and she was hungry. Who knows. There was no reason she should've treated me that way!! Thank God i never ever have to step foot in this post office again. The hours are inconvenient and most of the staff I've dealt with here have been unfriendly, short, hurry-up kind of employees! No wonder the US post office loses money. This place just simply sucks!! read more

I'm sure you could train animals to deliver better service than the people working here. It's been a month and half since I have bought my house and they still cannot figure out how to put my mail in my mail box. I have my keys, which that took 3 trys, and have put my name and address in the box assigned to me. Still no mail. I then have to drive to the Post Office to be told there is no mail there. One cannot go more than 2 weeks without some type of mail if they tried. Every time I go there its another reason why I am not getting my mail. It's real simple...Take the mail with my name on it and put the mail in the box with my name on it. Hopefully one day I can get my mail read more

Sadly, this office is going for stereotypical PO office status. For employed people, with great benefits, the lost-the-will-to-live energy is what's going on here. I don't live in the area, but decide to ship a package back to Ireland....International @ this particular location since I was in the Neighborhood. I have to tell you at of all my years going to a federal post office I have never been treated so rude in my entire life from the very beginning. The employees name is John and he should never ever be working in a customer service position because is the absolute worst. He doesn't care about customer service at all and is very combating and very very rude and argumentative. I wish I would of gotten his last name, but he knows who he is. In fact his manager or whoever the other gentlemen was had to pull him in the back room and tell him you never behave in that manner and I heard him start to argue with him. I walked up to the counter and asked him if he cold help me please relabel my package to return back to Ireland and he said,"no we don't do that, you have to". Just like that and didn't even want to help me with the process of finding the label in the store and told me they are over on the wall. The wall had so many items I didn't even know what he was referring to and he just tried to ignore me whenI asked again where they were. He was short pointed me in a totally different place then where they were and it took me four times for him to finally get him to respond again to where the labels were........unbelievable and it finally took a customer walking in to help me. It just blew my mind. Totally and utterly rude and very unhelpful. This is where are tax dollars go.....there was no excuse for it. John needs to take lessons from our El Dorado Hills post office employees cause it is like night and day from this gentlemen. He needs to be removed from the front counter plain and simple and have a huge talking to so he neve,r ever treats anyone like this again. I would give him a negative 20. He needs an attitude adjustment and real quick or he should be reevaluated ASAP by his manager so know one ever has to go through what I did with this very rude and argumentative, and very unhelpful employee at the Winding Way Post office, off Sunrise Blvd. read more

I've always used the Fair Oaks office because of the fast and friendly service. But no more. After the worst day of my life I had one more stop to make and that was to drop off a package to my cousin in England. The paperwork to fill out isn't in the lobby so I have to wait in line. I approached John and ask for the form. He says just fill this out and come right back up here. He also tells the next man the same thing. We finish our paperwork at the same time. He calls the man up first and takes so much time to finish his transaction that the customer starts to complain. In the middle of this transaction he looks at me and tells me to get back in line. So I do that and by the time it is my turn the second worker closes out her register an leaves. My only option is John. he has me finish filling out my form wrong and then tells me I have to start over. " and just come right back up to me". Well that wasn't going to happen so I picked up my package and requisite forms and leave before I go ballistic. The problem here are the postal workers (John). Why he feels it's ok to mess with the public I don't know. I've seen his name in other yelp posts. I wish he was held accountable for his antagonistic approach to customer service. read more

For the second time this year, I requested, via the internet, that my mail be held while I was out of town. And for the second time this year, they continued to deliver the mail. I notified the Post Office after the first mishap, asking they be more vigilant regarding my requests. After the second error, I went to the Post Office, and was referred to the Supervisor. I waited 20 minutes for her to speak with me. I ask that she insure the staff do better regarding these requests. She told me the carrier was new and doesn't know the route. What does that have to do with it?! She continued with excuses, rather than giving me a commitment that she would look into it and work with her team to do better. I ask to speak with her supervisor and she told me to write the Post Master General! Seriously, to whom can I speak with to get the desired results?
