Right when it's open, there is already a line. The staff are busy and I'm sure they stay busy all day. I usually use the self service kiosk for mailing packages and skip the lines. Using the flat rate boxes makes it easy to weight and get labels made on the machine. I am not a fan of the increased prices, but that's everywhere now. Likes: + I like that I can pick up small mail here without having to talk to anyone. + They help mail out your passport renewal application. + When I needed help reviewing my passport renewal application, the nice lady willingly helped review all my paperwork. I am grateful for her patience and kindness. Non-likes: - They open kinda late on weekdays, at 8:30am. - There is often a long, slow line. - They used to leave the front door unlocked overnight. Not anymore... - When I needed help tracking my lost packages, the managers basically ignored me. - Crowded parking. Stay far away... I understand that people "hate" their jobs.... If you do as a worker just quit. Why make everyone else suffer if you take forever just to weigh a package, put the zip code, and print a label. Does it really take 15+ minutes? If someone isn't ready to mail, have them step away from window and do it properly.... Same goes for documents that aren't filled out properly. Expect to wait 35+ minutes if there are 5 people ahead of you. No joke, stay far away! Only 1 good worker at this location. read more

I get it. Nobody really likes going to the post office and this place is no exception. It really makes me miss the ones I go to in Anaheim and Garden Grove. First off, there's 2 entrances to this place. Which, on its face seems like a good idea, but when I entered the lot from the side with the turn traffic light, I had to move over to the right because the exiting car from there was over a bit too much, before the onslaught of cars trying to leave coming at me from the head on direction in addition to those coming from the opposite direction also trying to find parking. In theory it's a good idea but in practice, the bad drivers here make it rather chaotic. Although there are several windows, the place only had 2 workers at 3:30pm on a Friday. If you're pressed for time and aren't as lucky as I was to hit it before the crowd, be prepared for a wait. I imagine that may be where a lot of the low ratings may be coming from. Parking isn't a problem to me because it seemed like they had a fair amount of spaces. They're just understaffed, which I can guess adds wait time during peak hours. read more

They had closed and gone home, leaving me on hold the first time. What type of a person does that on purpose? Looking back, the young man who did this most likely knew he was doing it. Laziest delivery people. I live in a condo that has mailboxes with bigger boxes underneath for packages. They always try to shove them in the boxes that are too small so you can't turn the lock because the box is up against it. If the box isn't big enough they're suppose to bring it to your door. I wanted to mail a box for first-class mail. It's a regular size box that needs a small piece of tape to close box before shipping. Today after waiting 20+ minutes ---SAM--- told me that he cannot send it first class mail. He stated if I use his tape to seal the box, "I HAVE TO SHIP IT FOR "PRIORITY". I told him I don't need priority, he stated that is the only shipping option if I need to use their tape. Obviously, I am not going to use priority because I don't need it. Why can't he just charge me for the one piece of tape? which I have done before. I am very confused. I been here many times so I was shocked. I go to this post office for round stamps on legal letters every week, normally it's not a problem ~besides the wait in line, (which is expected). Today, Jan 8th 2024 at 1:10pm a younger man with the a name that starts with T refused to round stamp my book ~ because $0.40 times 8 is now $4.56 instead of the normal $3.20! All he would say is "That is what the computer says". I show him several pages of the book~ he wouldn't budge, I also suggested he use a calculator. Maybe people need to have a basic math test to work here? I can't imagine how he could possibly function as an adult, nor manage a bank account, I guess if the bank messes up and tells him "that's what the computer says" he would be SOL too! read more

Alright, I'll be honest. I think the reason why a trip to the post office can take so long (COVID-19 or not) is not because of the staff (who are friendly!) ... but because the people who come don't necessarily plan all the way... Example? Today I came to ship a package. Easy-peasy. I've done this before so I had my package ready (secured, taped, and affixed with mailing label). In my time during this ONE visit: - A patron forgot to include something in his already-sealed package. The clerk had to cut the tape, open his box up, and add it in. - Someone else was doing paperwork and brought in an expired drivers license. ??? Sorry, that doesn't work. - Another person asked for cash back AFTER their transaction was already in process ... so the clerk had to cancel the transaction and start again. Please, PLEASE, be prepared and take your time to do things well so that you aren't wasting your time or anyone else's. Staff-wise, during today's trip, I was really impressed with Monica, the USPS clerk! She handled everyone (including the people above) with such GREAT attitude and patience. Parking: there is a small lot and I've never had any issues finding parking. Staff: friendly! Monica, in particular, was a rock-star! Cleanliness: 5/5 - everything was very orderly and organized During COVID-19, it seems like the post offices are even busier now so something to keep in mind! Give yourself more time. read more

I had come yesterday, and liked that it wasn't crowded. I didn't have a box (I thought I could purchase one) for two Christmas gifts I was sending to NJ from CA. Unfortunately, they didn't have the size box I needed, but the gentleman who was helping me said I could wrap the gifts in brown paper and send them off like that, and quoted me about $22. I thanked him and left to go do that. I went to UPS next just to see who much it would be ($41!!!) so I just paid them $5 for a box and planned to come back to the post office the next day. I came back this morning, and the first person who "helped" me looked at me like I was an idiot and said I had to hand write the address on the box (I thought you gave them the address and they typed up a shipping label...I don't mail packages very often!) I went and filled out the label she gave me, and another gentleman helped me when I was done. He asked me if I wanted priority, and I told him my conversation with the gentleman yesterday. He told me to hand write the address on the box, and when I was done to come back to him. I did just that, and he gave me the exact price I was quoted. We attended our appointment for passport services. First, we were helped by a black lady who did not want to give her name. She was rude, condescending and very dismissive. She was not doing her work as she was taking a break after every client then we finally 45 minutes late we were called for our appointment, Sandra tried to help us, but she was also very rude and not helpful. We finally decided to leave and go to a private business that could help us with the same service for an additional fee just to mention Sandra was very helpful to the previous customer, who was her own ethnic group and spoke very little English. Get in, do your thing, get out. Their staff is consistently grumpy lol. There was a man who was obviously deaf/does sign language with a helper on videochat. He needed help filling out a form. An old white man behind the service counter was not helpful and full-out rude to him. The other older asian lady (Jennifer?) acted as if I was inconveniencing her with my mailing questions. Let's see if my packages reach their destination. It's sad to see. But it seems they're just there to do their job with the least amount of effort. Quit your job if you don't like it! My husband dropped off a valuable package for me on Friday, November 12, 2021. He went in around 4:45pm. The box was scanned as received but he was told it would get processed later that evening. Seeing the same scenario with other people dropping off packages. He felt leaving it was no problem. As of today my package still does not show it has been shipped out. There is no tracking info other than the original printed prepaid label. Does anyone know who I can complain to?? We already tried calling & we're still being told it will get scanned in the process? I got a real bad service. I filled out the form to send stuff to my sister in COLORADO, I am in California. There are two section, one has label FROM, one label TO. AT label FROM I wrote RECEIVE, at label TO I wrote SENDER. After realizing I did wrong, I crossed out label FROM and replace TO: I also crossed out TO and replace FROM. But the clerk did not check the LABEL, he send back to sender. Next day I came back due to the package back to me. I make a complaint the clerk, and asked them to redo. But the different clerk said I have to pay again. I asked them to talk to the manager or supervisor, they came out and didn't do or redo..... I really upset due to a bad bad service. My receiver said she'll pay for that but I came to other station at BOLSA with a clerk in front, not even I have to talk to the manager the first conversation . just one time they redo it for me at NO CHARGED. I don't know what the problem is with Fountain Valley mail delivery all I know is every time I'm expecting mail it never arrives in a reasonable amount of time. Twice I've had to ask the sender of a check to reissue a check and send it overnight express because six days had passed since the check was mailed and it had not been delivered to my Fountain Valley address. On the latest overnight express I was advised that the check was out for delivery at 7:10 a.m. this morning. It is now 1 p.m. and the check has still not been delivered. There are some serious problems with Fountain Valley's mail delivery and they need to be addressed immediately. I've gone to the post office personally to address these concerns only to get the runaround I never get a concrete answer. If they're understaffed then hire some people that can deliver the mail in a timely fashion It's ridiculous to think that mail that should take 3 days is taking 6 to 7 days, there is no excuse for this. The attitude of the personnel at Fountain Valley Post Office is apathetic to say the least. read more

I went in there on Saturday to renew my sons passport. I asked if I needed to make an appointment and an employee name Terri looked at me like I'm an idiot. Then says I needed to do it myself and went to look at her coworker and both just started to laugh. I did talked to her manager and her about how rude she is.
