I scheduled an appointment online for a passport application for today last week and when i arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled time, there was someone else who said they've been waiting for over 30 minutes and also stopped by the day before to find out the passport office was closed. When I asked an employee for help, they explained that the office is closed because management doesn't want to pay for overtime so they closed early. The employee asked if I can come by the next day before 3pm and I responded with saying "no, because I work and I requested time off to be here. Which is why I also scheduled an appointment online. If you guys are going to close, then you should let people know." She responded with saying to call the numbers on the passport office to complain. I took photos of the phone numbers and everything else taped on the office doors. Both numbers listed do not work - they just keep ringing. Located on the corner of Susan St and Sunflower (catty corner of the IKEA off the 405 Fwy). This ISPS location is my favorite location. Since it's the distribution center, they're open MUCH later than the typical post office. Their full service hours are Mon-Fri 7a-7p, Sat 8:30a-3p! I've always had great service here even when I was running in from the parking lot hoping to make it through the doors before they locked them. Even one time, although the door was locked, and the gentleman was standing there, he allowed me to pass him my stamped mail so it could go out that day. Like I said, the service has always been great here! I also love this location because they have self service machines inside the building and the doors are open 24/7. Tonight, even the general nighttime manager saw me at the machine and dropped died to chat. He was so sweet and friendly. The clerks here are always great too. Never had an issue by the way the postcard stamps are $.61 each. How I miss those days when they were $.15 each lol I guess the value is still good if you consider everything else has been inflated. I still highly recommend this USPS location for all your mailing needs.. read more

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the unacceptable customer service and disrespectful behavior I experienced at the USPS location 3101 W. Sunflower Ave Santa Ana, CA 92799 by Carolyn on 05.15.26 at 4:15pm (which she works at the Passport office). During my visit, Carolyn behaved in an unprofessional and disrespectful manner while assisting me. Instead of providing courteous customer service, the employee spoke to me in a rude tone, displayed a lack of professionalism, and made the interaction unnecessarily uncomfortable. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism when conducting business at a federal service office. This experience was disappointing and reflects poorly on the standards USPS should uphold for public service employees. I believe this matter should be reviewed by management to ensure appropriate corrective action is taken and that other customers are not subject to similar treatment. Still 5 star after more than a decade of coming here all the time. There's always parking, staff is always helpful and friendly and they keep the line moving (it's only ever truly busy around the December holiday). I had the misfortune of having to visit the Greenvile office again today and was reminded how much I hate going there and how much I enjoy visiting the Sunflower branch. Bad service, I had and appointment for passport, the only person that is working says she does the passports but she is the only one working and will not be able to do it until someone else comes to cover her at the drop off area. I still sitting here an hour after my appointment. I see other people that came after me with newborn babies and others with children who are getting cranky. Horrible service. My package was delivered to the wrong location. Insured for $100. Now is missing! But according to usps, the package was delivered, they just don't care where they delivered it to! I have appealed their my denied claim twice. Still, they have refused to acknowledge their mistake and paid for my missing package. I even tried filling a complaint against our area usps delivery lady, because at our apt complex, there have been numerous missing and lost packages. Still nothing. This USPS location off Sunflower/Susan St., has the latest hours of operation in Orange County - closing at 7pm on the weekdays. That alone is always a positive in my book. I had a package to mail, but work hours has me coming in way before most USPS locations open, and a little after most locations close. This was the sole location on the USPS website that indicated it had evening hours - and 7pm is pretty awesome when it comes to evening hours. I think it's also one of the major distribution hubs considering it's size - the retail section is just a fraction of the entire footprint of this place. I think that mail dropped off here likely gets to it's final destination a bit faster due to it's hub status. Service was great - I came in a little after 6pm, found a spot in their spacious parking lot upfront, and was cheerfully greeted by Angie, who quickly provided three shipping options - I opted for Priority Mail - which comes with $50 insurance and tracking now. I remember when tracking was a separate paid service. Easy in and out in just a few minutes. I know this place tends to get busier during the holidays - so just account for the wait and bring your charged phone or a book to read. But yea - 5 stars for being open until 7pm, speedy and courteous service, spacious parking lot. BTW - if their front parking lot is full, you can also park at the "Business Services" lot just a few meters down (entrance also on Susan Street) - and walk over to Retail Services. read more

EXTREMELY rude. I've made multiple returns at usps using QR codes and she said usps didn't take QR codes. She tried gaslighting me by saying I mixed up ups and usps but I showed her my QR code where it directed me to go to a usps and she was still argumentative. I dropped off my ballot here and sent a package from here because it was the only post office in the area open before 8 a.m. I had no issues here. Parking was easy to find, everyone was nice and the line moved quickly. I did input the address in my GPS and it lead me to the opposite corner of the lot, but other than that, great post office! read more

Had the absolute worst experience tonight at this location. Opted to scan a QR code at my local post office to avoid having to print at home and man do I regret it. The girl that helped me, Liz, was the rudest and miserable employee I've ever encountered. She told me it wasn't her job to accept my packages and tried to "ssh" me away because she said she had other customers to help. This place is lacking some serious customer service skills and it's a shame employees are in the worst mood. I mean ... not sure what to really "expect" from a post office. You come here to get your postage stamps or packages shipped and that's about it. Oh, and maybe on the rare occasion for your U.S. Passport. My most recent experience here was just to buy some stamps to send out Christmas cards. Not only was I given attitude when the lady handed me the folder with their stamp designs, the customer service experience was pretty much non-existent. She didn't greet me and didn't even smile! For the most part I think you can expect to get what you need to get done at the post office, just don't expect to get any over the top customer service. At least not at this location. read more

I despise this post office! It is the one closest to where I live but I try to avoid it at all costs. The employees, including the post master, are rude (except for one man) and seem annoyed they have to work. Don't even try to get them to scan a QR code or prepaid label for you because they will quickly point you to the self-service kiosk which takes longer, even when they don't have a line. Came to drop off a small envelope that I needed to pay for shipping. The line was crazy long at 3pm with two people at the cashier stands and one closed 10 mins into my wait with a decent amount of people waiting behind me. The male cashier I interacted with told me I couldn't take a picture of my package after he put the $1.63 shipping label on it. He was somewhat condescending saying that what ever location I usually go to is breaking the law... I've never had this be an issue at any other post office/ UPS that I've been to. I by no means want to break the law but the way he talked to me I wasn't a fan of, as if I'm a stupid little girl. I will continue to go to the location closer to my work than home. I debated whether to give a 3 or 4 star rating but decided to bump it up to 4 stars. Their parking layout is slightly weird in that there's just a one directional flow. Be mindful when you're in the parking lot and turning. The USPS building here, like many others, doesn't look too great. It's a very run-down building and could use some modernization (but let's not kid ourselves on their budget). There is COVID-19 safeguards and notices, too - which is always appreciated. When you come to USPS post offices, PLEASE BE PREPARED. Write down the shipping address on a shipping label (if you don't, they'll move you to the side and take a new customer). Make sure your driver ID isnt expired. Make sure your package is taped and ready to go. You would be surprised (or not?) how slow everything is, but through the fault of us customers! The actual staff members I've interacted with have been courteous. Not cheery by any means, but definitely courteous and get the job done. With COVID, just make sure to give your packages extra time! USPS is experiencing a big increase in packages so some delays might be expected. read more

This place has changed drastically over the last few months and is now the worst post office in the area. Rude staff, arbitrary "rules" which change depending on who is working, and delays in packages leaving the facility happen way too often. Despite being a "hub", half the packages I've sent from this location end up taking longer to get to their destinations than ones I send from my small local post office. Not worth the drive or effort anymore. The more helpful staff will scan in packages with pre-paid postage, but some will literally yell across the lobby at you that you HAVE to go to the kiosk and do it yourself. The reasoning? "The line would be out the door, if everyone stood in line to have us scan them in." So they'd rather have people struggle with the kiosk, having to click 5+ different keys just to scan in the label and then hope it actually reads the barcode correctly the first time... creating a line at the kiosk anyway, which ends up going out the door. OR "We don't have time to scan everyone's packages in." But when you point out the previous points, they'll then offer to help you use the kiosk (in a thoroughly condescending tone). So they have time to step away from the counter to help you go through the motions of using the kiosk (which takes WAY more time than them just scanning the label and printing a receipt), but they don't have time to just scan the label and print a receipt at the counter itself. Oh. Okay. That totally makes sense. OR "We don't have enough paper to give you a receipt. Use the kiosk." If you don't have enough paper to give me a receipt, then how are you giving everyone else receipts? And why are you now taking the package away from the counter, without scanning it in or giving me any sort of proof it was dropped off in the first place? Kiosk runs out of paper? They shrug and tell you to have a good day. If you ARE forced to use the kiosk, always print AND email the receipt to yourself. No guarantees you'll get either, though. If you decide to stand in line anyway and are given an excuse for why they refuse to scan the label in for you? The employee who yelled at you to go to a kiosk in the first place will smugly yell over the entire lobby: "TOLD YOU!" Go to any other post office in the area if you actually need customer service of any type. And this is coming from someone who tries to go above and beyond to give service workers - ESPECIALLY government employees - the benefit of the doubt, because I know they deal with absolute nonsense all day. This place, though? If there are any cutbacks in the future of the USPS, I genuinely hope the rude employees who work in the lobby of this location are the first to go (with the few decent ones reassigned to better stations). read more

I got lucky with this post office being the closest one to my place. They're open later than most post offices which is already an A+ in my book (ridiculous that most post offices close at 5pm M-F, considering the government expects everyone to work a 9-5 to survive... so when am I suppose to ship my stuff?) Anyways. I ship out small business items at this post office and have never had a bad experience. The line is always super short and when it's not because of a holiday, it still moves extremely fast. The Post Office is well, the Post Office so it's hard to have a grand, colorful review on it but this one did a good job in helping me. I needed 70 rolls of stamps and what's funny is that's not always easy to get. They always kind of look at you twice when you are ordering almost $4,000 work of stamp rolls and often they can't find enough so you end up having to go to another location to finish the order. Quyen helped me and it was a fast and effective transaction. They had what I needed and I was in and out in under 10 minutes. To me, that's a solid experience. read more
