It's a postal office, you expect it to help you ship your packages, and that's exactly what you get. The workers there are amazingly polite, and they know all the packages and offers needed to make you get your package to where you need to. Honestly, I wouldn't have to review post offices unless some were really good and others were really bad. I'll be honest and say that for me, the post office in general has gone downhill. I like this post office better than the one that is two blocks from my house. This is a small location but serves my needs perfectly. I've always been fortunate to find parking nearby, have spend very little time in line, and customer service has been decent. The facility is clean and well kept. They have a small selection of mailboxes. I know those seem like really simple things but they're not. Aside from the post office near my work, this is one of my favorites. It's a sad day when bad experiences are more likely than not in what used to be a proud institution. read more

Not a fan of this post office. Every time I go in I am shocked by how extremely long it takes them to serve people. I watch them... slowly... pushing... a... button... on... their... screen... And then I start tearing my hair out before I even get the chance for them to maybe help me with something. By the time I get to the front of the 3 person line after 30 minutes I just want to throw my package at someone and go home. The Wallingford location is faster, nicer, and has better parking. read more

I've had pretty bad experiences with this place. Grumble grumble . One time I went the lady barely spoke English and my question was simple I had trouble communicating my need to here. Another time the older gals just sounds like she hates her job and has been there too long and not feeling it anymore. So mono tone what do you want short questions. Kinda like your a bother to her. I also went to buy 3 months po box. I wanted to pay in cash they said you had to set up auto pay with a credit card. I explained I can use debit. They advised no on credit card. I was like unlike a lot of humans I don't own one ( thank god!) and she was like bummer sorry bye I was like are you sure ? She said yes. Well can you ask for me . 2nd opinion . She kinda rolled her eyes and sighed and went in the back and she was on the phone for 15 mins. They said yes we can use it. Every time I went 3 months to renew my box I would go in circles arguing with same lady and going through same process. The hours aren't really good for folks that work through the week. They close when I get off work, no weekend hours, and they require an extra $10 ? For a key to open doors to get to po box at non open hours. read more

This is possibly the worst post office I've ever experience. Gabriela, who works there moves like a pregnant yak and may be setting the land speed record for fewest customers serviced in a day. Her commitment to doing as little as possible during her time in uniform is a travesty to my tax dollars, beyond that, she is simply put an angry person who comes across as mean in every encounter. Each time I have mailed something she has had some problem with what I have been asking for, insists that this location is too "small" to cash money orders. I had no idea what that meant so I asked the other person at the counter who promptly cashed it...WTF? Red necks only at this location. If you're at all a self expressed human, have alternative life styles etc. don't expect to get any help from this bigot. read more

Street parking is limited so I usually go to the Broadview/Bitter Lake location when I have things to post. I didn't even know they were there until a friend of mine pointed them out. Counter help is pleasant and bonus, they are beside the new location of the Couth Buzzard! read more

Every time I wait in line at this post office, I get very impatient and wonder what the hold up is and why the people behind the counters don't speed things along. Then I get to the front and realize it's because, though they are taking their time serving every customer, it's because they care and are doing their best to meet our needs. They are really friendly, attentive, and helpful, yet to the point. I leave a happy customer every time. Note: They charge for packing tape! Not by the yard, but by the roll. If you need tape, you better grab a roll while you wait in line, and make sure to pay for it when you get to the front. Lame. Not sure if's a USPS thing, or just a Greenwood PO thing. I didn't think I'd ever review a post office (especially to give them a compliment), but here I am! I was trying to get my P.O. Box set up online before moving here, and my debit card was charged three times in a row for some reason (silly computers). So I (freaked out) called the Greenwood Post Office and spoke to Mary. She was extremely helpful, patient, and went above and beyond the call of duty. Here's how... She repeatedly tried to pull up my reservation in the system and stayed with me on the phone even though I could hear her coworkers telling her that she was needed up front. She told me she'd keep trying to find out what was wrong and gave me the name and number of a supervisor that could help me with the debit card charges. I was stressed out because my mail had nowhere to go and I was expecting a lot of important documents (I was moving in less than a week!). Mary called me back just in the knick of time (while I was at my old post office trying to figure out what address to forward my mail to since I should, but didn't have a P.O. Box) to tell me that it finally came up in her system. I was able to avert disaster because she cared enough to follow up with me instead of treating me like just another annoying customer (which is how I usually feel when I go to the post office) that stood between her and her lunch break. It was comforting to know that at least one thing was done and I didn't have to worry about it anymore. The supervisor (Alisha?) at the Wallingford Post Office that Mary referred me to with was super sweet and helpful as well. She went out of her way to assist me and said she'd call the USPS finance department first thing the next morning (since they are on the East Coast and were closed at the time). After she called and spoke to them, she followed up with me and apologized profusely because it would take some time for them to figure out how to reverse the charges. She wanted to make sure that I would get my P.O. Box right away (they only had two left). She was even willing to pay $60 out of her own pocket and make sure the Greenwood Post Office could secure my P.O. Box without having to charge my card a fourth time. I called my bank and it turns out that the three charges were pending (so $180 was taken out of my available balance, but wasn't completely gone... yet). I looked at my statement a couple of days after this incident and only one of the charges went through (*whew). So everything turned out just fine, thanks to Mary and the supervisor at Wallingford. I met Mary in person when I went in to get the keys for my box. She recognized my last name and told me that she was glad everything worked out. I am glad I was able tell her (again and in person) how much I appreciated her efforts. The other lady that was helping me was really nice as well. She explained everything to me and made sure all of my questions were answered before I left. I'm so glad that the other locations were out of the smaller P.O. Boxes because I know I will get excellent (and friendly) customer service here. read more

I like this location. The ladies at this branch are friendly and play along with the dumb jokes that I make. It's not the biggest Post office that you can go to, but it has all your basic and daily needs. Boxes, Staff has been informative and helpful when I have had questions. Lines can get long, but typically you'll be in and out within 15-20 minutes. read more

I'm posting a review here mostly because I want to ask a question. How the hell is it OK for a USPS location to shut its doors during the day simply because one of its employees needs to run errands? This has happened twice in the past few weeks. I assume this is not the fault of the employees at this location--because perhaps there are simply not enough of them? But ... seriously? Is this Seattle or is it Mayberry RFD? I run a business selling clothing and accessories online, and I promise same-day shipping--so I kind of need the post office to be open. Yesterday, when this location was closed in the afternoon because an employee had a "family emergency," I drove to the USPS location in Wallingford (off Stone Way) and it took me probably an hour to get there because the traffic was so bad. Cranky, unhelpful ladies. This location also has no automated mailing machine. Oh, and they never, ever, ever have priority mail supplies. Well, they sometimes do behind the counter but they won't give them to you because "other customers might need them". read more

I have used this post office for over 10 years and I can say that even though my PO Box is over in Wallingford, I always use this post office to ship my packages. Yes, they certainly can get lines in there but what I can say is that the employees at this facility are super dedicated and take pride in their work and making everything go smoothly. They get to know their regulars and are so pleasant and helpful. I watch them as they treat every person with the utmost respect, even the patrons who are being rude or obnoxious to them. I say give them 5 gold stars for patience!! It is pretty amazing if you think about it how packages get from point A to B. Pro: Clerks are nice (but it isn't enough to make up for the Cons) Con: Service. #1. I brought in a book, wrapped in brown paper, with "BOOK" and "MEDIA MAIL" written in 1-inch-high letters both on the back and front of the package. I think it was pretty obvious from the package that it contained a book. I handed it to the clerk and said, "This is a book. I'd like to send it media mail." The robot clerk then responded, "Anything fragile, perishable, liquid, or breakable?" I looked at her in astonishment, and said again, 'IT'S a BOOK!!" She then put on the postage while I stood there wondering whether there is some brainwashing indoctrination program that post office employees go through in order to remove their ability to use their brain. #2. I put in a forwarding order so mail from my Greenwood post office box would be sent to another state while I was gone. Three weeks before I returned, I went to the USPS web site and cancelled the forward, and received a confirmation number. So I get back home to Greenwood and keep checking my Greenwood post office box, but no mail. I figured that maybe it takes a week or so, but after an important letter had still not arrived after several weeks, I went to the Greenwood post office to ask what was going on. The (nice) clerk went in the back to check, and came back out apologizing, informing me that "The note was still on the back of the post office box." HUH??? The NOTE??? She then elaborated that Mary is the only one who knows how to "do it on the computer" and Mary has been relocated to a different branch, so consequently nobody in the Greenwood branch has a clue about cancelling a forward. #3. I made the huge mistake of going into the Greenwood PO at noon. There were probably 12 people in line and one clerk. When someone in the line asked if another clerk could come out to assist, the only clerk on duty said that when one person is out to lunch there is only one person on duty. She helpfully offered to provide the phone number for the Wallingford post office, so the guy in line asked, "Does that mean they will send someone to help?" The clerk told him no, that is just in case he wants to complain because the manager is in Wallingford. #4. I have been in the Greenwood PO on numerous occasions when one clerk is slowly plodding through helping a long line of people, and the other clerk is standing there poking at the touch screen on a computer, completely ignoring the fact that there is a long line of people waiting.
