Closed at 11 AM when they're supposed to open at 9.

I no longer fear hell because I've been to the Hawthorne Post Office. If you're lucky, they'll be open on time. Often times they don't open until well after 9 (is that even legal?). The worst part about it is that the package slot is also broken so you can't just drop stuff off when they're closed and leave. You have to wait. It has been broken for years. Is it that hard to get some tools to fix it? The workers here are also some of the rudest people you well ever encounter and so, so slow. Do you know the sloth from Zootopia? Picture him behind bullet proof class rolling his eyes anytime you ask a question, and you have the average postal worker here. And if you want to avoid them, you can't, because guess what? Their self-service kiosk is broken too! It is sad that this is the best that can be done for our community. Nobody here cares. Everything is dirty and broken. The workers know they can't get fired so they do the bare minimum. This place makes the DMV look like Disneyland.

Box selection is never restocked. It's always empty.

This post office is a complete disgrace. They often close without even leaving a note on the door giving a reason. And when it's closed, you can't even drop off a package because the package slot is STILL broken two years later. It's dirty, the workers are rude and lazy, and half the time something has broken down and wont work. To the lazy workers: Do you not take any pride in your job at all? Or do you not care because there's zero oversight so you know you can't be fired? An absolute embarrassment. Remember that your taxes PAY for this.

If you can, go to the branch on Mariposa instead. This one seems to go the extra mile to find reasons not send out your mail.

So it took TWO days for a package dropped off at the last minute to arrive in NYC from LA, shipped with regular Priority Mail, which says is supposed to take 3-5!

I had a purse ordered from Poshmark that I was tracking online to arrive at my house. When the…read morepackage arrived, it was someone else's package going to Oregon with my label taped to the top. Both tracking numbers were scanned in on 5/15/26 at 6am, mine in a box and the other in plastic. It was very clear mine was ripped off the box and affixed to a random package of the same size. Long story short, my purse was stolen. I've been filing claims and waiting for a call back for weeks. When I went in today to bring in a letter from USPS along with the evidence I had, a female employee began raising her voice as I explained the situation the manager was already aware of. She claimed no one would ever do that, and it must have "fallen off the box" and somehow landed on a random package and got sealed perfectly to it. Other customers were there and kept looking to see what was going on. I kept my voice at a normal level and it became a scene. Overall very disappointed in the worker and how she handled the situation in front of other customers. Moving forward I will only order packages with a signature required.

He openly shouts at people and acting in a confrontational manner. At one point, after I placed my pre paid package in the bin, he directly asked me what I was sending. I explained that it was a 3D-printed plastic product that I sell. He continued to question me in a way that felt more like an interrogation than normal customer service. Very odd questioning for no reason. This consistent type of behavior toward customers is inappropriate and unprofessional. I intend to file an official complaint with USPS regarding how customers are being treated at this location.

I have been trying to resolve an issue since early November, and it's been a long and frustrating…read moreprocess with no resolution in sight. My mother-in-law sent a birthday package to her son from Italy, ensuring it would arrive before November. However, my husband waited, and nothing arrived. Upon checking, the tracking information showed that it had been delivered, but to the wrong address-- a large box! The post office claimed they had retrieved the package and placed it in the "back" area, and my husband was told he could pick it up. When he arrived, the package was no longer there. Only certain employees have access to the "back room." One employee, named CHRISTIAN, told my husband to sign a receipt acknowledging the package had been received and promised it would be delivered the next day. My husband complied, but, of course, the package never arrived. Makes me question if Christian knows what happened to the package or took advantage of my Husband's anxious attempt to get his package to sign off any fault. This all happened on November 7th. Since then, we've been calling, visiting, and emailing everyone I could find in hopes of resolving the issue, but nothing has worked. The manager, Shanice Adams, did attempt to help, but in the end, there was no resolution. She issued a letter accepting fault, but I can never reach anyone for follow-up. At this point, we have no choice but to visit our local Post Office, but I am deeply disappointed in the service we've received in Inglewood. These kinds of issues highlight the broader geographical disparities and inequalities that certain areas suffer from, and unfortunately, our local Post Office seems to be the worst example of this. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I would greatly appreciate it. I just want to get this resolved. Moreover, I am unable to file a claim online as the package was sent from Italy. My Mother-in-Law can't file a complaint because the package is marked as delivered.
