Everyone hates the post office. It's like the DPS, but you don't get the satisfaction of getting your drivers license at the end. Having said that this is one of the good ones. They are open on Saturdays, and the lines are never horrendous. The staff is friendly, and they make the experience quick and pleasant. If your not in the area it might be worth it for you to drive to this location so you can take advantage ofthe short lines and the availability Saturday mornings. As far as post offices go this is the best one in Houston, and I go out of my way to visit this one read more

I am so impressed with this location. Its about 3 miles from my office, and I set up my passport appointment. It was really easy online and when I got there today, it really shocked me how fast everything went. When I got in line, I happened to be behind three people and I thought it was going to take at least 15 minutes (which I arrived early to account for this), well I was wrong. I got to the counter in and going to my passport interview all in about three minutes time. Everyone was so sweet and helpful, and cracked a few jokes here and there which was refreshing. Worst post office in Houston. No courtesy, no sense of urgency, and not helpful. It's unfortunate that I have to come to this one.

ONE STAR IS TOO MANY! The 2 employees I encountered were very polite. Considering they make TWICE the $$ I make I'd hope they always are. Problem is I've mailed 3 packages in the past 3 months from this PO and two did not make it. 1: was dropped at the counter, tracking barcode was never scanned, package never arrived at destination, package was never returned to me. 2: Package with tracking # was dropped off, not scanned until DALLAS at main postal hub. Was delivered. Considered it a VICTORY. 3. Dropped off package on March 11th. As of March 22nd it STILL has not been scanned, delivered to destination address, or returned to me. Asked to speak to manager, he never came to the window. Assured everything was scanned if it arrive there. Totally not the case... After speaking to a former employee of USPS he told me postal employees often open packages to see if it is ANYTHING THEY WOULD LIKE TO KEEP. I advise anyone who is shipping ANYTHING to NOT use USPS. I have had a great deal of shipping success with Parcel Plus on Louetta in Cypress. NEVER has a package gone missing. Professional, courteous, prompt. Never again will I use the Timmons post office, even though I have been there on occasion since 1983. read more

When you think of the post office, you don't really think of fast and efficient. This place is sorta hit or miss...there have been days when I'm in and out within 10 minutes and other times, not so much. I set an appointment to turn in my passport application and of course, they were overbooked and I ended up waiting 20 mins. longer than I should have. Good news is that I received the passport in record time, so I guess that cancels out the wait time. read more

The worst US Post Office it has ever been my misfortune to encounter. The lines are long, the staff are less than helpful. Today I waited over 20 minutes to post mail overseas. Told they has no "international" stamps but that I could us 3 first class stamps instead and it would "be enough". Actually at $1.50 versus $1.15 per stamp, it is way too much. For my letters about $20 too much. The agent refused to run my mail through the meter as she was "too busy". Even when you get a "helpful" agent the process is slow and tedious. As for delivery - they don't delivery every day and we often get mail addressed to other streets!!! read more

Went to pick up a certified letter on a Tuesday afternoon. Was as easy as it gets. Open parking in their lot. Staff there were great. Picked up letter in less than 5 minutes. Couldn't ask for more. read more

I received a package on Sunday. I didn't know the post office delivers on that day. We didn't see the package until Monday. It was all beat up. It was spices and the spices were hanging out of the box. I took it to the post office and the First Lady asked me what I wanted to do with it. I told her I didn't want it and she said I would have to talk to the manager. Go to the blue door around the corner. I went to the blue door and another lady opened it. She asked me what I wanted to do with it. She said why are you bringing it here. I said your label is on the box as the delivery service so I"m bringing it back to return it. She said Amazon probably did that and return it to Amazon. I said Amazon's label is not on this your label is. She said I would have to talk to the Manager and he said the same thing "what do you want me to do with it." Who would keep food that was falling out of the box and my thought was who would deliver a package that was all beat up to your door and expect you to keep it. African American woman with braids receiving packages on the right side of store was too busy laughing at man that walked in with short pink shorts to answer my questions and provide me with decent customer service. She disregarded my questions and continued to laugh at another customer. I was on my lunch break trying to get this package delivered and she definitely did not make this a positive experience for me. read more

I read some of the reviews on here and I'm super confused about the bad ones. I walked in 25 mins before my appointment for my passport and was greeted as soon as I walked in, they even helped me well before my appointment time and made the copies of my ID and birth certificate - Maybe if some of y'all came prepared instead of half way you'd be treated better. read more

A customer gave my company the wrong address to ship to, and we already had dropped off the box to the location. Called and they went above and beyond in finding my package and resolving the situation. It was a very busy day, and they still managed to address my situation and find a solution. One star because it's literally the only passport agency in the area. Another star simply because Yelp's much nicer than I am. If you're applying for or renewing a passport, make sure you fill out all the necessary forms and follow the instructions [found here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html]. The employees won't be happy to see you anyway, so trust me, you definitely don't want to worsen the situation with a hearty dose of public humiliation. Also, book early -- when I called this location, the earliest open slot was two weeks later. I'm positive it's just a "government formality" though, as I still had to wait 30 minutes past my appointment time to finally be helped. One good thing about this location is they can take your passport photo on-site for an additional $15, so you can take care of that first before handing over your paperwork and paying your dues. For some reason, the clerk had me pay for my passport with a personal check and then asked me to pay the service fee with my card (luckily, I brought both). I have no idea why they want you to take care of it that way, but if there's anything I've learned about dealing with government-run facilities, it's 1) come prepared, 2) don't ask questions, 3) nod and say "yes ma'am/yes sir." It tends to make this painful process go by a lot faster -- I was done in 15 minutes, on top of 45 minutes of waiting, of course. Being efficient doesn't excuse the employees from being grade-A jerks though. My heart went out to a young couple in front of me who was having the hardest time trying to calm their baby down for his passport photo. The parents were obviously embarrassed and frazzled, the baby was obviously uncomfortable and distressed, and the only thing these heartless ignoramuses could say was, "You can't hold him that way in his photo, tuck in his shirt, make him stop crying. NEXT! You can come back once your kid is ready to cooperate." seriously, wtf? I made sure to offer a gentle smile and reassuring pat on the arm as I walked past them. just like the previous yelper, my office is within this post office's service border. the mail person that delivers the mail to our building sucks. seriously. this person NEVER EVER delivers mail that has a delivery confirmation on time. not EVER. well, maybe a handful of times in my whole 14 years working in this building. what's the point of paying for delivery confirmation if my package is going to sit in the building mail room for a day or two? then trying to track them down (and you know there's never a set time frame - they just show up whenever they want) and then the shipper saying "it shows it got delivered at xx time on xx day." customer service at its finest. i hate you julius melcher post office. read more

Rude and slow. Here's an example, postal employee to me, "I'm not going to do any more work than I need to." Had me step out of line to add 4 more stamps to an envelope because it was short. I was holding the extra stamps in my hand and getting ready to paste them on. Needed to get back in line yet again. read more

Don't send any packages from this location, even if you pay for 2-day ship and have insurance...the individual receiving your packages will either NEVER get them or get them a month or so later because this facility can not pay attention to where the packages are going!! Honestly just close this facility ....your worker do not deserve a government job! After 3-4 lost or delivery very late packages I use FEDEX or Amazon ship.....yep AMAZON will be taking your jobs!!! read more

Gang grafitti on the outside collection boxes, only 1 person working the counter with 10 people in line, and poor customer service. This is one of the least efficient post offices with bad attitude employees. We have complained about Ruby (postal delivery person assigned to Timmons office building) but she is still employed for great old Uncle SAM!! Complaints are not taken seriously and if a customer does complain, mail is delayed or "not found." read more

Terrible service AND the postal worker threatened to purposefully over-charge me. I have used this post office on occasion over the past 10 years due to it's proximity to my parents' house. The service has never been great at this location as postal workers will often be milling around for 5-10 minutes, not helping anyone, despite there being a line of customers. During my last visit, however, the service was exceptionally egregious. While I was being helped by a postal worker named Patel, another customer came up and asked if he could borrow the pen lying on the counter. Without giving it much thought, I began to hand the customer the pen, which caused Patel to flip out. I asked Patel if he was in a bad mood, to which he replied that he could and would make up fictitious charges and add them on to my order. In the future, I will avoid using USPS as much as possible. read more

I'm rating this place based on customer service. Both workers that I saw at this location were very courteous and respectful, as well as helpful. I had to come here to get my passport application done. I had an appointment set for 9:30am. I got there 15 min early just invade. There was only one employee working and they were handling the mail portion. She assured me that someone would be with me shortly. 45 minutes later, and after many "someone will be out shortly", two employees finally clocked in. Just got my 1 year old's passport and it was painless and easy peasy! I was terrified with all the bad reviews and with a baby they can turn into the excorcist at any moment. Every single post office in the H has bad reviews FYI. Apparently you need an appt but nobody answers the phone so I took a chance and walked in. It was 9:15am, I was the first passport person there and out in 20 mins. Thank you passport lady with your fancy black rimmed glasses and lush red lips. What a great start to a day! WORST SERVICE EVER! I swear everyone has an attitude and seems to hate working here. Along with the fact that the only have ONE person to service everyone in line. A little ridiculous. Maybe you won't have bad reviews if you changed your attitude and had one more person at the counter to help. We live in a busy city people usually don't have that much time to weight... no one wants to spend an extra 30-45 minutes waiting in line or waiting to pick up their package. If I could choose the way my package got shipped I would never pick usps. They also never came to my house to drop the package off they where too lazy and just left a note so I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to pick it up. No big deal. This is my local branch, so it's close by and I have to go here to pick up packages that require signature, I don't have a choice. That said, this place is awful. My mail carrier will never redeliver, even if I sign the 'Sorry we missed you' slip, and I have to wait multiple days for them to actually leave it at the station. I dread it every time I see one of those slips on my door. The workers at the facility itself are...unpleasant. Not just to me, either. When I have to wait 20 minutes for someone to look for my package, I get to watch them be rude/mean to other people as well. Another reviewer mentioned a specific woman, and I know exactly who he's talking about. Example: an Asian couple had spent about 15 minutes packing 2 boxes, then got in line. When the got to the counter she told them they used the wrong tape and just waved them away. They used the tape I would have used based on common sense, because there are no directions anywhere as to what particular tape to use for what. They had to ask another customer for help, then get back in line! Then there's the little guy that apparently will not answer any questions in case he is wrong, even the most basic questions. He seems to have an issue with always needing to be right, as he will argue with the customer over everything. If you ask him anything, he'll tell you to come back when someone else is working, which is never. As I said, I don't have a choice but to go to this branch, but I dread it. The most inefficient and useless post office I've ever been to. Here's why: 1st incident: I order a desk chair off Amazon using 2 day shipping. Imagine my surprise when I come home and find a slip in my mailbox that it wasn't delivered the day it was supposed to. Here's the reason why: The package was "TOO HEAVY" to carry up a small flight of stairs. So instead they make me (a small, 110 lb girl) come pick it up from their post office and carry it up the stairs herself WHICH I COULD TOTALLY DO. I'm sorry if I can carry that box, you should be able to carry that box. Pure laziness. 2nd incident: I order a memory foam mattress pad from Amazon and I get a slip again that I need to go pick it up. But this time, THEY CAN'T FIND IT. They lost it. Which I don't understand since it's a large box. How do you just lose it? Thankfully, Amazon is a large company that can compensate me for the loss so they sent another one. 3rd incident: I've ordered a special, customized gift for my mom for Christmas and paid expedited shipping to make sure it was here in time. I get an alert that it was delivered on the 19th to my apartment (I was currently out of town). I get home on the 20th super excited to see it and it's nowhere to be found. Surprise! They lost ANOTHER package of mine. So I try to call this post office and no one ever answers the phone so I call the national USPS number and file a claim. I finally get through to this location the next day to ask if they got the claim that they lost my package and it was like they were completely oblivious that it was missing. So then I give them my information again since they can't find it and give them some time to look for it. I hear nothing so I go in the next day and talk to someone who is also just as oblivious to the fact that it was missing and also can't find it. She gives me the number of the supervisor and tells me to call in the morning. Well I've called 20 times this morning and NO ANSWER. So basically they lost my package and I've given them plenty of time to find it and they haven't owned up to the fact that they straight up lost it. I ordered from a small company so I don't even know if they'll give me compensation so I hope USPS is willing to compensate me for now losing a very special christmas gift to my mom that I worked very hard to get and paid extra to get in time for christmas. There are many more small incidents as well such as items not showing up the day they were supposed to because they're "delayed" or whatever. But these are the three that have been the worst. TL;DR: They lose your packages like crazy and won't do anything to help you when it happens. They're lazy and just won't even deliver your packages if they're remotely "heavy." They never answer the phone and when they do they're extremely rude and will interrupt you mid-sentence. Basically, good luck getting anything done with this location. read more

I was nervous about coming here due to other reviews but I didn't experience any issues. I got there about 45 minutes before they closed on a Wednesday and had to wait about 10 minutes before I was helped. The teller that helped me was pleasant - I have no complaints! read more

Been to this location a number of times. The bad I agree not enough employees helping customers. The good is very nice & helpful employees. Wish the pace was faster and had more help but sometimes a good attitude makes up for it. And the employees you see are not the people at the top making the decisions on how many work at the front that day. read more
