No one answers the phone, rang thru 3 times all the way to dial tone. Nice to see my taxes being wasted.

Everytime I call the number no one EVER answers. I have informed delivery and on the 23rd of Aug it showed 2 pieces of mail to be delivered, however a Card from my place of business was never delivered. Called to inquire about it and of course could not get ANYONE to answer the phone, NOT the first time this has occurred. EXACTLY WHY I am hesitant to use mail service anymore!!! They don't answer the phone or allow messages to be left for a return call. USELESS!!!!! Tracked package and they said they attempted delivery last week but there was a mail hold as we were out of town. At the end of the mail hold, our other mail was delivered but not the package. Apparently I can drive to the post office with ID and the attempted delivery receipt (which I never got) to get my package. I confirmed via the USPS that this is not standard practice and that my package should have been delivered with the rest of the mail that was held. I have attempted to talk to them to get my package delivered, but they don't answer the phone. They identify that they are the Howell Post Office and that you will be transferred to the next available operator. The phone will ring for about 3 1/2 minutes and then you are disconnected. I called back multiple time and got the same result. Apparently customer service isn't their thing nor is following their business policies. SO DISAPPOINTING - I believe I pay taxes that support this very sorry excuse for a business! read more

Normally things are fine but today is high wind warnings and I had package coming. Put heavy doormat out thinking it would be used to weight down package but no. Left out in the open and it ofcourse blew off porch and into driveway. At least it did not make it to the road. A little common sense would have been nice. read more

Twice I was expecting a delivery, site said "out for delivery" and twice carrier said "Delivery attempted -- No access to delivery location" and I'd like to know what was meant by that. There was nobody blocking my mailbox, my driveway was free and clear, as was my porch. I think you've got some mail carriers who are to lazy to drive in my driveway and drop off a package. I've never had such poor service from the post office as I've had this past year and I know you do have some exceptional carriers. Unfortunately, they don't deliver regularly as you keep changing routes. And once again, my mail comes around 5pm again. read more

I am really disappointed and angry about the package delivery service from the post office. Last week, a package was delivered (supposed to be by UPS or FedX) to my home and it was found by a visitor lying on the ground in front of my garage instead of on my front porch where it would be protected from weather and potential thieves. It was visible from the street for any who might have found it tempting. The contents were worth $500. Today, I received an email saying a package had been delivered to my front door. Not there. Not even in front of the garage door where the other one was. I have Proof of Delivery - not so. It was not quite so valuable, only $75, but still a loss to me. UPS and FedX deliver to my front door and ring the door bell letting me know it is there. So do other delivery services. I order much online and I hate that the Post Office has contracts with these otherwise good delivery services. Our complex has cluster mailboxes, and you can't believe what can be jammed into them. Sometimes it is impossible to remove delivered packages without damaging them and the contents. I have complained to the companies, but they say they have contracts with you. read more

Tuesday and Wednesday 1/22 and 1/23 there was no mail delivery due to icy roads. Thursday two expected packages were marked as delivered to the mailbox. The packages were not there. I am also waiting for two other pieces of mail that should have been delivered(time sensitive) but so far have not. Don't know what's going on but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Can't talk to anyone as the phone constantly has a busy signal. Typical government entity. read more

Not very happy with this place. I ship a lot of things and have an idea of how much things ship for and when they can go as large envelope or parcels. I recently got a piece of mail back in my mailbox with a hand written note saying I didn't put enough postage. Really? Took it to another post office and they said it was fine to go as it was (large envelope) it fit in the slot (under 3/4") just fine. A couple of days ago I was actually questioning why they were charging me for a package rather than a large envelope on another item so I decided to ship it thru self-serve because it was a large envelope and it went just fine (large envelope specifications). And also, an important piece of mail(payment) didn't make it to its destination. I am starting to wonder if they have any accountability here?? There have to be regulations for this. read more

Rude, argumentative and not willing to help. Had a simple question about how to pick up a package that could not be delivered and I was told it was out for delivery again. Our driveway was being paved so they would have the same issue as last time so I tried to find out the process to stop sending it on the mail truck and hold it at the post office and he told me that he didn't know and to call back later. He was so rude and unprofessional that I finally had to say during conversation that he did not need to speak to me that way and that I could not believe he was in customer service and his reply was "me either." read more

We have lived in the Howell area for 30 years and have had reasonably good service from the Howell post office. However in the past two years, since moving from Howell Township to Osceola Township the service has ranged from just fair to terrible. We use mail forwarding during the winter and this has included very slow forwarding, sending an envelope containing tax documents without sealing it resulting in an empty envelope arriving, to many, many occasions of wrong mail in wrong boxes. Today I went to pickup a package that I was notified had been left in my mail box. There was a key to a parcel box, however it was empty. Very important parcel is in wrong box. Call to Howell post office resulted in a promise to see if they could have someone rescue my package being held hostage and deliver it to me sometime tomorrow. There was not even an apology. Delivery errors in our complex take place on an alarmingly regular basis. Our contact with the facility seems to indicate that no one really cares. read more

Staff at the Howell USPS branch is consistently rude. Rolled eyes between employees at the desk (unprofessional), "not my problem" attitudes, and slow service overall. Remarkably better over in Brighton or Fowlerville, head there instead. read more

Requested a mail hold while we went on vacation, for January 27 through February 3, 2018. The request was processed on USPS.com. I Received a notice from USPS in our regular mail the day before we left (Jan. 26) with the heading of Mail Hold Request, along with a confirmation number and dates of hold. Great, I figured, they are on the ball. But just in case, I asked my neighbor to check my mailbox. Good thing I did, because our mail was delivered every single day, as if the mail hold had not been submitted. I already wrote a complaint to the USPS customer service department, and am about to call the local postmaster here in Howell. I had this same issue a few years ago when we went on vacation, and hoped they had made improvements. Guess the improvement was delivery of a notification of hold which they had no intention of following. Terrible service. They also lost an overnight package some months ago. I put a tracer on it which came back 90 days later saying it couldnt be found, and apologized. Meanwhile, the overnight package was delivered by then, just took a month to get there. This same government is the one that some want to run our health care? I think not! read more
