This location is great! They are always appropriately staffed and it's all hands on deck when a line begins to form. I never wait more than a few minutes, even if the line is out the door. They are very helpful and take extra time to assist those who may not be as familiar with technology and on-line returns. I was at the Howell location dropping off an Amazon return. The team member asked if I needed anything else...I said No..he mentioned stamps before the upcoming price increase and that they had Christmas stamps, etc. I had never bought stamps from UPS and did not realize they are upcharged so I stocked up for Christmas cards. Lesson learned...good sales tactic at this location capitalizing on the upcoming USPS price hike. I didn't realize until I got home that I paid more than what the future price increase for stamps will be...for stamps I did not need. When I called, the store the manager was not understanding. She said they offer the stamps as a convenience. While I understand that, I have been to this location many times and never had this type of experience pushing stamp sales. My fault for not paying attention, however the manager response could have been more understanding or offer a solution to return them. read more

If you need something notarized, don't take it to this location. The youngster behind the counter doesn't know what he's doing and what he attempted to do to my legal documents was completely unprofessional. I ended up taking the exact same documents to the Brighton UPS Store and they got me taken care of without any issues at all. They had the appropriate documentation and verbiage and got me in and out of there in under 10 minutes. Do better UPS Store. Don't hire young kids to deal with things outside their pay grade. What a great UPS Store this one is! The staff is so friendly, work quickly, and are never flustered at the busiest times. The manager was able to help me with my needs while she was serving other people. She knew what to do and was very courteous. There was a steady stream of customers coming in. As soon as people walked in the door, they were acknowledged by the staff. The customers waited no time at all or very little time. There was no "slacking" here! I'm sure UPS training is filled with customer-centric employee training programs. Unfortunately the ability to replicate those core compentencies in each location nationwide can be difficult. These difficulties in delivering a consistent positive customer experience were on display in the Howell UPS store. We did not receive a greeting upon entering the store, rather we just stood there. Waiting. It was if we had just accidentally walked into the back office, and no one had noticed us yet. One UPS employee's phone conversation with a potential customer sounded as if he was just trying to persuade them to go elsewhere - it was a convo full of ballpark price estimates ( 'Uh, it'll be like $50 or $60' ) and non answer answers ( 'yeah I don't know' ). We stood at the counter rather aimlessly as Phone Jabroni stumbled through his call without acknowledging our presence. There was only 1 other person in the store who was staring at a copier. It was my assumption per our destination-less wait that this copy machine man must be a another customer, one who enjoys the finer things in life like self-service. I was incorrect. After a good 5 minutes, Copier Jabroni decided to walk over and assist us. He was polite, yet thoroughly distracted by his copy duties. After a few moments of helping us, he delegated us off to Phone Jabroni (PJ) for our shipping desires. PJ never even looked up to see us. Rather he shuffled about head down and muttered, 'not sure what just happened.'. Still standing at the counter directionless, PJ eventually offered us the courtesy of barking the command "Phone number," which we had to assume was directed at us, because he still hadn't looked at us. I supplied our number and within seconds PJ spat out a shipping price that seemed feasible only if it came with a financing plan. We literally picked up our boxes and left. I had to return a package so I went to the ups store in Howell. Upon walking in a very large German Shepard aggressively headed right at me. I expressed to the lady behind the counter that I was allergic to dogs and she ignored me as the dog was right next to me. She finally said its a service dog and continued processing my item. The dog was in a defense mode the whole time and threatening and the woman was very rude. Will not go back to that store. Very unprofessional!! read more

Customer service was great. The gentleman was able to find me the best shipping rate and was very optimistic and accommodating.

1/29/20 Vintage lab grade scale delivered to me. Packaged by UPS, told it was fragile, not marked fragile. Scale arrived with broken glass, a broken foot and the scale was not holding zero. The scale was taken from me and not returned during a dispute with UPS. Corporate and the UPS store are both saying the other is responsible. I can't get my item back. Eventually, I was with store manager Angie who said someone would come take pictures of the package, and if they needed to take it, would bring it back within two days. Friday 1/31 At 9:34am a drive shows up and through the monitor tells me he needs to pick up the package and the best way is to leave the box and item out Monday. Monday or Tuesday Drive shows up to my house, tells me I need to place the item in the box, so I do so on top of a pile of packaging. I was told they'd take pics, or take it for a couple days to take pictures. It was then shipped without my permission back to the original store. They call the shipper of the package and say they don't know why they have it. Within a few days, called the store and let them know about the issues. I was told by a male it was not their issue and I needed to speak with corporate and gave me a phone number. I played phone tag back and forth for 2 hours, on hold, both sides saying the other was responsible. Everyone said corporate, or the franchise side was wrong and I needed to call them back. I eventually get ahold of the store manager, who ensures me corporate it investigating. My last reply for the UPS store was on Monday, 2/10 and they aren't returning my emails. It's now been 2 weeks since the damaged package arrived. I called UPS at 1-800-789-4623 and was told it was the UPS store's responsibility and that UPS would not get involved. This is theft. I was asked if I needed to get the police involved and was told that was my choice, but they understood. read more

When I saw the review from Dec, '14, I was VERY surprised. My husband and I have been going to this UPS Store in Howell for many years. We have experienced nothing but very friendly, caring service from the owner and/or other employees. I think the other reviewer, Dave C., has some unrealistic expectations as to what should happen when he walks into a store. Apparently, everyone should STOP what they're doing and tend to him and only him. Don't let that ridiculous review sway you from doing business with the UPS store in Howell. It is a fine establishment, has been in business for several years, and the employees and owner are very kind and friendly. read more

Was supposed to have delivered a 5 day shipping package last week, still isnt delivered. I tracked it on amazon and it has been at the facility for days and days. Difficult customer service. If i had a choice for whom my carriers would have been i would have not picked UPS. Going out of my way to not have this company deliver anything of mine. read more
