I ordered a package from a business in California to be shipped to Idaho. Somehow it was shipped to Maine instead. The company in California told me it had been redirected to me in Idaho but provided no tracking information. I called my local Post Office and spoke with Heather. She was extremely helpful. It was nice to get a person on the phone that was willing to help! She will is currently searching for information and will call me back. This place is the absolute worst. Every time I've come in here is because I absolutely had to and every time there's an hour wait with a line of people and only one employee working the counter. Get your act together! On a side note, why are individuals who live in the county or North end of town having to go here? This is the dumbest run USPS office that I've ever come accross, and that says a lot given that I'd lived in many places. Very rarely, did I ever get a postage unpaid delivery message living anywhere else in the country. Here, it happens so frequently, it makes you wonder if they are actually just doing this to gouge customers. Given that it passed the verification for postage from the receiver, but not here once it arrives, is just cause for concern. The last time I came in, the guy who looks like the comic book nerd from the Simpsons, bragged about how good they are at catching this. Well here's the thing. We don't all have an entire hour to wait while you do f-all in the back just to pay a 25 cent postage charge. The people here are literally braindead, hence the huge lines all the time. Seriously, this office needs to shape up or go under new management. Fire all of the current employees and give it to people who actually want to serve their community. I use UPS primarily for sending out all of my packages because of the trash service at this location. read more

DISGUSTING SERVICE...They were supposed to deliver a Christmas gift 12/21. I guess it got too late at 6.45pm and blamed it on a natural disaster so they changed delivery to 12/22. Well a little snow on the ground that DID not ever stop UPS or FED-EX stops USPS delivering. I called 18 times 12/23 and was disconnected every time. I called again 12/28 after still receiving no mail and was told they would have to drive by and take photo's to see if we were able to have mail delivered as they put us on a mail hold. We plowed every bit of snow away from all around our property on Christmas Day. Today 12/29 we got letters but no parcels that were due last week. I have just called IF post office again 18 times and was disconnected every time again..... read more

During the holidays or anytime. Do not pay for priority shipping with USPS. They suck big time I sent and paid for 2day delivery both packages were to be delivered on 12/04/23. One was delivered today the other will not be delivered till Monday the 11th or 12th. How many days is that? 10 days from the shipping date. I called they said they do not guarantee the shipping unless I paid for express delivery. I did pay for 2 days on both packages. They do not give a rip. I asked the rep if I could get a refund on the shipping to normal postage. He said they don't do that. They suck. Big time. I went to the Local Post office the line was out the door with one person working. The local UPS store has no line with 12 people working big difference no more USPS ever. As long as I'm on a rant I ordered a set of golf clubs from Japan. When they did get to the USA. They went to Chicago then Florida then back to Japan not here in ID. They were reshipped by the shipper and did finally arrive. Never again will I use USPS again. It's ups & fed-ex from now on. Feel free to repost this. read more

This is the main post office for Idaho Falls, so if you need a passport done or any of the more complicated postal paperwork this is where they'll send you. There's an APC machine inside for basic postal needs that is available 24/7, but otherwise you'll want to check their website for hours. The staff is about what you'd expect from the postal service, not overly friendly, but they know what they're doing. Don't goof off with the labeling - they don't take kindly to it. read more

So difficult to deal with. We moved from California and need a key to mailbox been waiting for over a week and still no key. I have called which I can never get anyone to answer due to being understaffed and if you are able to get anyone to answer is a miracle. I have gone in and been told the same story the guy hasn't gotten around to making your key try back on so and so day it might be done. Went in today while standing in line another woman has been dealing with the same problem she's been waiting for over a week and a half for her key. Put our mail on hold until our key is done is the answer we are told. Complete BS! Anyone waiting on a key for their mailbox expect to get the run around and wait a very long time! read more

After moving to town from another state, I had to revisit and call several times to this post office to get my mail. The lines were very long, usually consisting of 10 to 15 people and there was only be one counter person. It was very frustrating and I just hope I never have to go back to the post office ever again. The slowest place on earth. read more

I really like our post office here in idaho falls. The people are really nice and seem to do their best to get people through in a quick manner. I don't blame them when there is a line. They have no idea when that might happen. I have found that if I'm nice, so are they. If they get a line, they seem to do their best to get through it quickly. That may be by bringing up extra people or pulling out the people waiting in line that are just picking up something. I do think that we, as the patrons should do our best to make sure our items are ready. I really believe we have one of the best post offices I've been to and I've lived all over. if I could give this post office an service no starts I would my carrier is out this post office and so are few other peoples houses I know and have had similar issues .... iof mail just never making it or going back to sender even though the address has been well established for years it is selective on their carriers if they can find it this month to the next ... sadly the patron are the ones that suffer for the lack of care by these people .. Once again, our neighbor's mail is picked up - ours is not. We placed the outgoing mail clearly visible from the sidewalk so as not to be missed at 6:00am, however, the mail carrier has again skipped picking up our mail. I can accept a single instance as human error, but this has happened six times in the last 2 months. I could even accept the entire neighborhood getting bypassed because of an ill carrier or other unforeseen circumstance - but allow me to reiterate... ONLY OUR HOUSE was dismissed. So I guess snow, rain, heat, or gloom of night, text messages or simple incompetence can certainly stay the carries completion of their appoint rounds. Awful service. The employee that delivers mail to our work office is disrespectful, talks back and refuses to come into our office when asked to retrieve mail. Especially when the weather is poor. We are mailing confidential documents and regardless, claiming it doesn't matter is not in this employee's job description. We have called asking for a solution and the only solution is to piss off their own employee therefore making him more disrespectful and unhelpful. Want to improve your service? Do your job. Come into the office, retrieve the mail and leave. Not hard. And it is what you are paid to do. So ridiculous. The employees that you call and talk to in the office are just as unprofessional. Putting you on hold and telling you it is up to him. Really? Saddest part is they don't care about service or the betterment of it.
