SO based on my primary movie influenced expectations, I expected most bodegas to be a combination of a grocery store / 7-11 / lottery and money orders. And so it was except money orders. Those proved hard to get. I needed the money order to pay for a court expense so with this post office 2 miles from the Surrogate Court of Queens I decided to walk. The worst Post Office I've ever encountered. I came in right before closing to ship back an eBay return. Unfortunately, I was told they couldn't ship it back because the label sent by the merchant is not a priority shipping label instead it's a first class shipping label. I told the employee, I'm shipping it back in the same package I received it in. I don't understand why it's unacceptable. She didn't offer any solutions just told me to contact the merchant. Y'all have no idea how annoyed I am. I went back up and told another employee my dilemma but she didn't care. She said yeah two different labels we can't ship it. The both of them were rude. I ended up spending money to purchase an envelope to return the item I bought. To say I'm vexed is an understatement. read more

Terrible place. Second time a package is going through there and it just sits there for days. They already failed to deliver one package and worried about the second. Pretty much a full service Post Office just a bit smaller and they are not open on weekends. They have PO Boxes as well as boxes and other shipping materials. Convenient location for me so it's great to have this place as an option. read more

On 3/15/2023 I decided to run a "simple errand" in between working. I brought in one small box to return to Nordstrom's (digital return slip in personal mobile device) and a middle sized box "untapped" to return to Macy's (return slip was located in personal email). I explained the request(s) at hand to the representative (UFN: 358212-0202 ) who's body language was immediately unwelcoming and annoyed. The representative whom serviced me wearing a head wrap around the head and shoulders (refused to share her name) on 3/15 @3:09pm Clerk #5, UFN: 358212-0202 was incredibly rude, argumentative, condescending and kept talking down to me. The USPS representative stated that I needed to package -the already packaged-items I'm requesting to have sent back to merchant and that "I" needed to purchase tape there @USPS because one package needed to be tapped up. I immediately responded calmly and I told her (rep-UFN: 358212-0202 ) that I understood and said "Let's do it! Where can I buy the tape? Let me know what I need to do in order to send these (2) packages off, so I can pay & get on with my day. The rep suddenly became incredibly dismissive, uncouth and argumentative. I immediately asked if I should leave because she's given the impression that she didn't want to assist me with my request. I had to practically beg the (rep-UFN: 358212-0202 ) to do her job which required scanning the digital return slip for the Nordstrom package from my mobile device. The (rep-UFN: 358212-0202 ) became irate and began yelling. With the attempt to embarrass/humiliate me, (rep-UFN: 358212-0202 ) yelled to the customers in line behind me saying "she's not listening..." while proceeding to speak down to me as if I was a little child, peasant/beneath her (rep-UFN: 358212-0202 ). However she was extremely polite and soft spoken to all of the non-black customers. I've never experienced this type of rudeness and discriminatory type behavior. She the (rep-UFN: 358212-0202 ) continued to keep yelling to customers behind me saying "she's not listening" while failing to explain to me, what my shipping options were. The (rep-UFN: 358212-0202 ) carried on as if "I" was an employee there at USPS and that "I" was suppose to be the expert of the shipping options, labeling and costs. The (rep-UFN: 358212-0202 ) had packaging tape next to her arm and insisted that I purchase a roll of tape because the top of one of my boxes (Macys)was open on the top. She the (rep-UFN: 358212-0202 ) could've provided writing labels & courtesy strip of tape for my package, provided the cost for transactions and allowed for everyone to proceed on with the evening. Instead she wanted to prove a point to me, someone to whom she's never met but made up in her mind to attempt to make me as the customers/consumer seem "less than." Rep-UFN: 358212-0202 clearly has a problem with Black Americans. Rep-UFN: 358212-0202 metaphorically used white hand glove service to ensure that her non-black customers were on owned that they are a priority. Rep-UFN: 358212-0202 made it a priority to be polite, soft spoken, attentive & courteous to her non-black customers. Given the broken English that was delivered through out this awful USPS "customer service" encounter. She's not American & has adapted the discriminating ways of its history. Thanks USPS! Here's a Major Suggestion/Resolution: Since the pseudo-human beings whom work in these customer service/agent roles, despise working a heavily customer related role and having empathy of any sort. Why not cut out the middle man?! Please take these USPS, workers @13869 Queens Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11435-9996 out of their misery! Please "Close This Branch"-or-Bring in the robots to conduct business. I don't usually go to this post office but I decided to make a quick stop to mail out a package. Man oh man! Why did I walk into this post office. There is this black lady with brown hair in booth #3, she is the definition of H O R R E N D O U S! Who hires people so disrespect and expect for customers not to react to them. Complain re: USPS site location 13869 Queens Blvd, Jamaica, NY- very unpleasant experience, and it happens not for the first time; So call manager named Michelle, around 1:45PM, Tue 6/27/17 refuses to take my box shipment; speaks unprofessional, place it's a disgrace, very- very dirty, filthy location (inside, and also front street look); many times I've been there around lunch time, usually just one teller will help, the other won't even bother to answer a question, nor to come at the next window and serve. Many citizens complain verbally, is just not all with similar experience will go online to write about it. Please consider this complain, and others likewise. Fast, efficient and friendly service. Michelle and Gladys are the Mount Rushmore of postal employee awesomeness. I admire them for being helpful and patient. Its no wonder this location is always busy: I've sent packages Standard Post to Zone 7 addresses and they arrive in 3 days! Its a USPS store, not a Post Office, so you can't get a passport, nor does the building feel like a cathedral of all things federal like the Forest Hills or even the Lefrak facilities do. They don't have a scale on the counter for customers to use before reaching the window. If you want to buy postage, a money order or mail something more than 13 oz., there are no self- service machines, so you have to talk to a (pleasant, knowledgeable) employee. Nothing is sorted for delivery there, so if you get a notice to pick something up, chances are your package is on Archer Avenue. I sell stuff on Ebay. When I started, Gladys and Michelle patiently helped me understand the rules of how to ship, what can be shipped Priority, what can be shipped Standard and the appropriate dimensions of First Class. Sometimes I don't buy enough postage when I pre-print the labels but they always help me find the most affordable way to add the correct amount or suggest a better way. I'd give an additional half star if USPS sent more staff but hey, its a post office- if you could go straight to the window without a wait, what reputation would the greater USPS have to uphold? I'd also give another star if they had extended hours, perhaps if they stayed open until 9pm on Mondays and Thursdays. Ever see that episode of Seinfeld about the Soup Nazi? Well, that's what it's like dealing with the employees here. Now listen, I'm used to it. I know the routine. But if you're new here and don't know what you're supposed to have prepared before you get to the window, what paperwork you need for whatever or even if you need a pen...a PEN!...prepare for zero to little assistance. Just like the Soup Nazi, it's like these employees hate the customers. I'm always respectful and pleasant to people that work with the public because I've had plenty of jobs like this and I know what a drain it can be. But on some level, if you're going to be this kind of indignant with the customers, maybe you're in the wrong line of work. I went to the Briarwood Post Office today since my local Forest Hills Post Office is always very crowded and slow. When I got there, there was only one customer at the window and I was next. In less than a minute or two I was at the window with a very pleasant postal worker who advised me on mailing my package. She was helpful and pleasant and that might now be my favorite local post office. Ultimately I didn't send the package because the postage was almost as expensive as the credit I would receive for the return, so I got on the bus and came home. read more

If I could rate them negative 5 stars I would. Horrible customer service. Very bad attitude and no desire to be helpful. After arguing with me about the correct box to use to send a package yesterday (I was right and they were wrong) I took them a printout today from their own employer for clarification when I went to send a different package. It was thrown back at me and then I was verbally threatened and told not to return to the post office and if I did they would call the cops on me. And I was accused of stealing USPS property because I took the roll of tape they gave me the previous day to repack my package which I didn't have time to do. So I told them to feel free and call the cops. I would wait around for the cops to come and they could charge me with the theft of the roll of tape. Avoid this post office!!!! The sales associate/clerk #03 black lady with a side part was very rude and disrespectful to me and all the other customers there. I had to mail something out and she told me to go outside and drop it in the mailbox. I told her if you don't like your job then u shouldn't be working here at all! if your gonna have such a negative attitude towards all your customers. when I complained about reporting her to a supervisor she came out to argue with me, very unprofessional I must say this will be the last time I go to this post office for anything. i walked 3 blocks to mail a box of books (read very heavy) and then the woman tells me to wrap it because they can't send boxes with print on it (I recycled a box of cups I got from a restaurant sso there was a pic of cups and some other word about cups). and i tell her I've never heard that before and I've been mailing lots of boxes lately and as long as there is no old shipping info on them it's been fine. she gives me silence as in she can't help me. so I'm like well I'm not walking this box back because it's heavy so I'll leave it and get paper. so I do that..just gift wrap because they didnt have the brown kind.  I spend 10 min trying to wrap it w no scissors and a tiny counter AS THE two post office ladies WATCH ME DO IT then I bring the box back to them and tell me this is the wrong kind of paper and thwn points at a poster abiut hazardous materials which this box does not have as if that answers my questions about the print. post offices like to post up their rules very clearly and this is BS. and if it IS. a real rule then every other post office I've gone to is doing a crappy job. read more
