    P.O. Box area..
    Glenn V.

Best possible office around, most knowledge staff, most friendly by far of any post office in NYC. Sorry guys but the San Diego post office edges ya all out. I've kept a P.O. Box here and have been very satisfyied with the pricing structure, with little and nominal increases along the way. Employees are all working at maximum capacity, covering a good portion of space. Know that the Kew Gardens station is not as small as a postage stamp either, --- Get it?

There are clearly employees at the counter who have no idea what they're doing. I've lived in Forest Hills for 25 years. I'm usually a very patient person and can tolerate a lot. But what happened today was completely unacceptable. Yes, I know lines at the post office can be long and require patience. But this crossed every line. Today, Tuesday, July 14th, a little after 10 a.m., I joined the line. By the time the woman three people ahead of me reached the counter, I had already been waiting over 30 minutes. What I saw at Window 4 was shocking. The customer was trying to point out a mistake the clerk had made, but the same interaction repeated more than 10 times. The entire line was stunned. People started loudly booing -- something I've rarely seen. Even I, known for my patience, got seriously irritated for the first time in my life. It was beyond ridiculous. It was downright inhumane. The clerk simply couldn't understand what the customer was saying, no matter how many times it was repeated. Any other employee could have handled it in 30 seconds. After being forced to wait over 35 minutes, it was finally my turn -- only for the same clerk at Window 4 to suddenly announce, "I'm going on break," point toward the other line, grab her coffee, and walk away. Excuse me? A break? You haven't actually done any real work yet -- you've just spent the entire time making mistakes! Was that supposed to be breakfast? The Forest Hills USPS office is, without a doubt, the slowest and most incompetent post office in the world.

The line was somewhat long, but it moved pretty fast. The lady that I dealt with was pleasant, efficient, and polite. Not much more than you can ask for.

This post office is always a shitshow. Though not as bad as some of the ones I have experienced in…read morethe Bronx. There is always a huge line and only a few windows open. The line to pick up packages can be very chaotic with no system whatsoever in place. It's come to the point where I would get Amazon packages sent to the locker at the 711 instead of to my address and risking it being sent through the post office and then having to go pick it up. One thing that is really not the post office fault is that there are a lot of people sending packages overseas so it's a bit more time consuming to process. I wish they would have express counter for package drop offs like UPS and Fedex has. I'm sure there are a lot of people who just want to drop off a prepaid package and end up in line as the people who need more service.

Another update in regards to my stolen package- Long story…read moreshort, I had a package earlier this year that was supposedly "misdelivered" by my local USPS driver. Our building's security footage proves he was never around at the time of the incident, nor was any package ever left. I was also able to check with all of our neighbors and they didn't receive it either. So one way or another, this driver falsified a gps scan. Even before this incident, he has had a bad reputation of repeatedly losing our building's key (conveniently right around the same time mail goes "missing") and destroying our packages. Management here has been told about these issues time and time again. They don't give a damn. All that to say, I just received an email from USPS claiming they're now closing my missing package request. This happened earlier this year and now all of a sudden, they're refusing to even keep that open? I'm pissed. First they cover up this guys blatant felony, lie about sending a carrier to pick up this supposedly 'misdelivered' package and now I'm getting punished for exposing this? I can't stand this post office or anything it represents. I'm warning you, don't trust them. There's a real criminal side to this place and they are not being held accountable.
