The traffic situation here is tough since there's only one entry point and one exit. With that being said, employees here do a really good job moving long lines along. I do not want to give this station (Lakewood, CA at Clark off Candlewood) a star at all. Today marks the 3rd issue that I have had with getting my mail or packages. Today the carrier came around 1:15 pm. I'm in a zoom class but can see her walk up. I asked my 13 year old to run outside and ask the carrier if we can have our mail because the box gets stuck. She tells my daughter no that she has to take the mail back to the station and will report the issue. I stepped away from the class and went outside I asked politely if the carrier can give me the letter. She say no she is taking it back to the station. I asked if she can just put it in the box I will send locksmith to open. She said too late she is taking it back to the station. She never asked for my ID to see if I am the recipient. Never tried to help me. I thought that the carriers ere suppose to still driver the letters. ??? Then I asked what is her name she said 1207. I asked if she has a name she says Miranda and keeps walking. I am waiting on a new debit card. I'm in zoom class it's a Saturday. Post office closes at 2 pm. What a joke. Put a stop on my mail for three weeks while I was out of town with the post office agreeing to deliver held mail upon my return. Three days after my mail was supposed to start back up I had received nothing. You cannot call the post office directly because the first thing they do when they open is take the phone off the hook. I called the 800 number and 93 minutes later I finally had a live person who tried everything they could do to help, but in the end apologized and said there was nothing they could do and I would be better off going into the post office in person. Walked in this morning to buy a money order. The place looked nice and clean. Walked in and i was greeted by a nice asian lady. She asked what i was there for. There was no line and was serviced real fast. The only reason this location did not get 5 stars is because when i got to the counter the Hispanic lady did not even greet me or acknowledge me. I said good morning to her and she just stared. I asked for a money order and while i swiped my debit card and waited for my money order to print, she grabbed her phone and started texting. She was so unprofessional and did not have any type of customer service. They really need to hire people with better skills and friendlier attitudes. Wow. I didn't realize how shallow a post office and it's associates working there can be. I came home to a handwritten letter in my mailbox threatening my family and I that if we don't post our mailbox on our walls they'll suspend our mail. When we went to the post office to complain about said letter, the woman behind the counter took the letter and tried to erase as much as possible to defend their awful actions. If I were the postmaster, I'd be ashamed of allowing such shady human beings to handle our mail. The kicker to the threat though is that we have a mail slot installed into our front door. If any mail person with common sense looked at the door instead of towards the ground, an easy problem would've been solved and this review wouldn't have to be posted. Once more, if poor customer service is what this specific office is aiming for, then you get a 5/5. I went here earlier today since it was close by my house to purchase some stamps. The parking lot is a bit weird as well. I go inside and luckily didn't have to wait long and the associate who "helped" me was rude from the start. She offered 2 stamp designs and I asked if she had any different ones. Of course with a rude sigh and an eye roll she pulls out some more stacked on top of each other and says "that's all we have". Really? At least spread them out ao i can see. What has happened to this Post Office? This morning I went to mail a simple letter, just drop in the drive-thru box, and that huge mailbox and the smaller one next to it had letters falling out of it. They was stuffed, Any mail thief could have easily grabbed 30-40 pieces of mail because it was that stuffed. I tried to shove letters down as far as I could but it was so full I couldn't do much. I do not blame so much the carriers & workers for all this post office's poor service, it is the Very poor and untrained Management of this office all the way up to upper Corp management! I have as of last year or so, been having numerous problems with this local Post office, they never answer the phone at this office, it took them over 2 weeks to start Re-delivering our mail even though recvd email confirmation, spoke to carrier, and post office directly. Ordered shipping supplies for my business, over a month no delivery, filed a complaint, they did not even follow up. Had to File addtl complaints, to finally get resolved. These guys continue to lose or Misdirect many of packages for my business, even after filing complaints no follow up or refund or anything, as if it is Intentional, and they just do not care about their customers! Recently, when complained to the Postmaster of this office, about what their poor service is costing my business, she did not even care, had an attitude the whole time, and hung up phone on me, she could care less, even after filing complaints with USPS.com online, nothing really done at all , I will keep filing complaints with USPS and BBB , until hopefully this office is cleaned up. I've paid $25 on Friday, 3/29/19 to get a letter delivered next day. Apparently, SSA is close on Saturdays so next day delivery is April 1st by 3 pm. I tracked my mail & it said "attempted delivery on Saturday". I'm tracking it today & I got a message "Available for pick-up". I didn't pay USPS $25 so Recipient can go & pick up this letter. IT NEEDs to get there physically by April 3rd. So I need to go in tomorrow & be late for work so I can personally track the letter & ask why it's sitting out there waiting for pick up by Recipient. The UNNAMED USPS desk clerk said not to worry & she'll take care of the letter. I'm in sheer disbelief. I should have gone to FEDEX. BTW, Recipient is in Lakewood (2-3 blocks away from USPS) & my letter is still sitting in the USPS Lakewood Post Office waiting to get picked up. I called the 800 toll free & held on for 55/minutes & told Art to redeliver on 4/2. I went on 4/2 to double-check; letter is still sitting in the back room. WTH? This has become one of the worst places to pick up mail from PO BOXS that customers like myself pay for. The cost to have a PO BOX has gone up every year. I pay for a yearly box and the agreement is the mail is suppose to be in the BOX bu 10:30AM everyday. Years ago they were great,.the last few years has been horrible and this year is the worst I have ever seen. The application show you have mail in your box and it's not there when you go and pick up your mail. I have had to go and stand in line and ask the clerks where the mail is? The typical response is they are still delivering it,..keep in ind its 12:00PM..(NOON) No one takes responsibility for there actions or the fact that we have a signed agreement regarding the delivery of our mail. I've been a Lakewood resident for 6 years now, and I'd say 90% of the time this post office is a nightmare. The 10% good comes from the few times I've had decent service once I make it to the front of the line. I won't even complain about long lines, since most post offices have that issue. It is poor management in-general that is the problem. Their policies are ridiculous. I read another poor review that complained about mail stoppage while on vacation, which is completely true...they will not start delivery again unless you come in and pick up the held mail, even if you state on the USPS website that you want the held mail delivered on a certain date. They continually mis-handle packages and mail. I have had several instances where I have had to call USPS customer service and file a complaint. Once, I actually got a callback from whomever is the head of the Lakewood office, regarding their policy for forwarding packages, and what she said was in complete conflict with USPS policies. I have had some very friendly postal workers delivering our mail over the years, but a lot of the mail does end up at the wrong house, and we get other people's mail. Not sure if that is a management issue or what, but I know I am not the only resident with that issue. Not even going to bother trying to get my son's passport at this location because when I casually inquired about it to one of the workers there, they said that the one person who does passport applications is only in on certain days and times, and appointments take forever to get. I don't know what is up with this post office. The parking lot is too tiny for the volume of customers. Half the time I end up driving around the block 10+ times waiting for a spot to open up. The package drop box is always locked so you can't use it, the line is a mile out the door, super slow service, dirty and disorganized, and extremely unfriendly USPS workers. I even had a USPS employee give me the third degree about why I was mailing so many packages. I had a total of 4 packages to mail out when there were other customers that had twice the amount and she didn't question any of them. I do not like this post office at all. read more

I have been going to this Lakewood post office for the last 35 years! 3 to 4 years ago they changed the hours to where they only accommodate the unemployed or retired! (8am to 5pm). I have had a post office box for the last 25 years and just recently it's been a big hassle to go in there and pay the yearly fee because the post office is always closed to(employeed)people. They tell me I can go online to pay, but they don't understand I don't like to give my credit card information over the internet under any circumstances! They told me the reason they changed the hours was due to someone breaking in to the PO Boxes! Therefore one person ruins it for all Lakewood residence! The weekend is another way to handle your Postal Services, but really have you seen the post office on Saturday you're in line for an hour! And I work most Saturday! The lobby is open 24/7 and allows for postmarked mailing at the self-service machine up to 11:59pm lol Also, they added two more automated machines in the main area so buying stamps and mailing thins are a whole loc quicker if you bring your atm card. Everyone behind the desk is so helpful and courteous. Lines can get long, especially toward closing time after work, but they'll let everyone in who arrives before closing I think . I'm a little flustered that they're closing earlier now (like 5:30pm instead of 6:00pm at the main windows), but it's still a good office that I go to when I'm running late. read more

This Post Office on Clark is conveniently located across the street from Massage Envy Spa, Costco, Round One, Best Buy and Home Depot at the Lakewood Center Mall. While it does get very busy, parking is sometimes an issue, we have noticed the majority of staff are friendly when people are friendly to them, and they can definitely give it right back to a customer that is a bit snappy . They've got a few drive-thru drop boxes, which is awesome when we just need to toss in self-stamped envelopes unlike some other locations. I like that this post office will give me a receipt when I mail back my defective phone to the cell company. The post office in Downey does not provide you with a receipt. But they do need more employees to work the counters. They didn't deliver a package to my post office box because it was in my son's name. Last month was the first time it was ever an issue to deliver a package to my p.o box that was not in my name. The employee did not follow proper protocol and did not put in the system. It was being returned to sender. They put in the system as if it was delivered to the p.o box but I never received it. I've been to a few lame post office locations before, but this one takes the cake. I was trying to mail out invitations for my son's birthday. The line to the stamp machine (yes, LINE) persuaded me to jump in line and wait for a teller. 25 minutes later, I tell her I'd like to pay for postage for the 15 invitations I was mailing out. She says "We don't have that kind of machine here", and directs me to the stamp machine (which still had a LINE). I had to ask her for stamps so that I could drop them off into their collection bin. Poor customer service by this Asian female postal worker, petite brown skin wearing glasses with a bit long chin with big round mean looking eyes. (I didn't put her name) had experienced dealing with her twice and both were horrible. She claimed on 11/26/18 at around 2:20pm that the address on my package was non-existent and could not verify the address. She then asked me a 'personal question' if I knew the person on the package which was invasive and made me uncomfortable. I then showed her the shipping address on my iPhone. By then, she said she found the address. I told her make sure to punch in the correct address on the box before asking me a private question. She got mad and sarcastic. Another episode was when I mailed a priority mail. She accused me of using a flat rate box. I told her it was a regular priority mail. She kept insisting that next time she'll charge me more. Be careful with this lady. She judges her customer and she's very unnecessarily intrusive. read more
