I recently visited this post office and i have to say the staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I just started my own business and had a ton of questions regarding shipping and one of the clerks suggested i speak to the postmaster. He came out to speak with me and took his time to explain all my options which i am extremely grateful for. He even gave me his business card and said to call him anytime of i had more questions. The postman that delivers to us is a piece of crap. He always delivers the wrong mall and he never picks up our mail when we leave it. Never needed a PO box until today when I went in to fill out an application which asks you what size box you would like. I marked size 4, finished my app and got called over by the worst person ever named MIKE which he was OKAY at first. Once he REVIEWED my application put some info in the computer he handed me my keys and told me to check my box and make sure it worked. It worked but only to see that the size I got was a size 1?? I went back to him and asked him if I had marked size 4?? And he mockingly responded back you didn't say size 4, I said, it was in my application which you reviewed and he kept on saying no you said 1(WHICH NO I DID NOT). I said isn't your job to review the application before anything and he said I AM NOT HELPING YOU IF YOU ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO BE RUDE. Which at this point I was asking him nicely, once I saw his body language change charging to the back to return my money he said have a nice day to which I responded F U!! And I got a nice F U back :) letting him know I was recording him he again mockingly rubbed his hands together and said OH GOOOOD like a maniac. That man was such a weirdo. My packages have been delivered to the wrong house for 4 years. Same house number but totally different street. I have spoken to several supervisors and nothing seems to get done. I use the Post Office on College Ave if I have to use the Post Office. read more

My hubby has a mail in order bussiness so everyday he's been dropping mails/ packages in here. He has always issues with items not being delivered to recepient. Not once, maybe like 3-4 times a month. Since we are in this zone area, we have no choice but to use this post office branch. We just recently moved in this area so we have no access to other USPS branch. I really don't get how hard it is to deliver a package to the correct address. 8/10 times I get something delivered by them, it goes to the wrong apartment. Depending on which apartment it goes to, I don't ever see the package. I also can't tell you how many times I get mail that isn't mine. It's addressed to a completely different apartment number. I mean, seriously? Match the number on the package/envelope to the number on the apartment/mailbox. IT ISN'T THAT DIFFICULT. Either your mail couriers need more basic training, or they are just lazy. My apartment is right next to the mailboxes, with a giant number on the door. There is no excuse for my packages to be delivered to any other apartment. I just did Christmas/Black Friday shopping. This is the best Post Office in San Diego County. We often drive 5-8 miles out of our way to get the quick professional service. Do not know why SODO D review was negative. If you have a choice at all go anywhere else. They have repeatedly lost mail. We get other peoples mail at least once a week. They have broken our mailbox 3 times. Won't deliver if there are trashcans on the road. And recently instead of holding my mail as requested, they returned it undeliverable costing my shipping charges again for items that should have been delivered. Really the worst postal experience in 40 years and 8 states as a military brat. They are worse than apathetic about any issues. Get a P.O. box near your work and don't have anything delivered through them. read more

I have lived in Lemon Grove for over 20 years and lost my mail carrier about a year ago. Since then, my mail carrier consistently delivers MY tracked packages to my neighbors houses and vice versa. Frequently my packages go missing although they are marked delivered. Is my new carrier keeping my packages and if not, why cant he figure out of the house numbers ON MY ACTUAL HOUSE matches the numbers on the package? I have been to the office several times in the past 6 months to complain but management doesnt seem to care. I frequently ask amazon and others to avoid sending anything USPS now. This particular post office is exceptional. Great customer service and prompt tracking updates. I like to drop off my eBay packages here because my customers get instant updates. Unlike the downtown post office that wont scan or give me a receipt upon drop off. The Lemon grove post office should be a model for customer retention. read more

I've been here three times in less than a month. Every time I come in its a different person attending me and let me tell you it has been such a wonderful experience. There is never a wait and they are very friendly. Parking is great, right In front. No complaints, clean location, friendly, and no wait in the am! Whoo hoo! Online said this place is open at 8:30am -5:00pm M-F. I called them at 9am on Friday, and received a voicemail told me their business hour, which is the same as online, and asking me to call back during the normal business hour? I'm also working for the Federal government, and when we said we are open at 9am, we are actually open at 9 for the office and our phone line. Sometime we are actually open earlier 8:50 or 8:55 am. I have lived in San Diego 28 years and I have never had as many issues with my mail delivery prior to living in Lemon Grove. I never received my advertisement ads and for the last 3 weeks my mail has disappeared and no one knows where any of my mail is. The Lemon Grove post office on Broadway made NO ATTEMPT to deliver my package. On 4/29/17 they marked it "undeliverable" at 930am just because we have no mailbox. When I asked about it, I got a call from a supervisor who said the letter carrier tried to deliver it and knocked on the door but nobody answered. Hands down the best Post Office I've been too. Usually I dread going to Post Offices, long lines and only 1 person to help you and there are usually helping some that did not do their paperwork correctly... When I go and drop off packages or to pick up something at this Post Office, all of the cashiers are open, and they even had someone that went down the line to make sure everyone had the correct paperwork to fill out as they were waiting. my experience was good with everyone that I have come into contact with at the front desk, however on a couple of separate occasions the manager's demeanor and bad attitude reminds me of all of the things customer service is not. I found it hard to believe that as a manager this lady, was not only employed by our government but was a manager. Sure no one is perfect and we all have bad days, but this lady really needs some training. Nevertheless, I still am not receiving my mail because, one of the temporary delivery people claimed that I have dogs by the mail box, which just is not true, but I give up, sometimes I get mail, most of the time I don't. Lemon Grove has no respect for the citizen of Lemon Grove. On our street we have a dog problem and the Mailman will not deliver to us The Post Office is supposed to install a block box for the mail. This is an update of a review left on Saturday, when I took a pink slip I had received in the mail the day before to the post office to pick up a package containing a very expensive item I had ordered from Germany. I was told they could not find it and they would talk to the mail carrier on Monday and get back to me. I had a fit of anxiety and anger and posted a one-star review on Yelp as therapy. Well, my spazz on Saturday was for nothing. I stopped at the post office this morning, and a different person than the one on Saturday went back to look for the package, then he came back out with it. It was that simple. He muttered something about how some of the staff apparently don't know how to read. Since my package was actually safe in back, and one particular person was apparently unobservant, I'll raise my rating to a 3. Other, irritating mistakes have happened over the 3 years I've lived in Lemon Grove and dealt with this post office, so a 3 is perhaps on the generous side. read more

So I go into the post office and this man is helping me track my package, he asks for my tracking number and while I'm unlocking my phone to read it off to him, he begins helping another customer while i "get that for him". First, I had my number ready and second, that is horrible customer service. I personally know that because I work in customer service. After helping the other customer and taking his sweet time, he takes my number, plugs it into one computer which tells him everything I had already known and told him when I first got there. This was supposed to be a quick visit because I do not have an abundance of time. He then goes to another computer and while he's putting my tracking number who knows where, he answers another customer's call and asks for their tracking number mid-resolving my issue. I had to be somewhere in the next half hour, so I decided to leave my name, number and tracking number hoping he would call me after finding a solution. There was none. I have no other post office choice. ANYWAY, from home I called the post office FIVE times. None of the calls were answered, which is frustrating because he seemed to be able to answer another person's call halfway through helping me. read more

While I like the staff at the counter in the post office and my mailman is o.k. I DO NOT like that my supermarket sale papers are not delivered before the sale starts. I usually get them on Mon., if that is a holiday not until Wed. because apparently the penny saver has priority. And to add to the problem, I get my mail in the afternoon. I won't give any stars ,I had the most humiliating experience with this clerk"Mike"that as soon as I put my boxes on the desk he started demanding an address which I handed to him and didn't take, as I'm showing him again the addresss I asked how much will the difference be in $$ between Regular mail and Priority mail?? Then he shouted "I don't know! that would take a loong time! don't you see all the people that's waiting in line??!!! You're not ready,so take your things and have someone else help you!!"
