Located on the corner of university and 46th. Has its own fenced parking lot. This area was a bit sketchy. Homeless in the area, loud music blasting from cars while in red light, abandon cars, it's not the best part of neighborhood. The front lobby had a large PO Box area accessible from 6am-4pm, closed on Sundays and holidays. Service area was in the back. It's really small. There was one person working and no line. Just dropped by to get some passport forms. There was about five people ahead of me and two USPS personnel working behind the counter. They used to have the passport forms out on the tables but not no more. This location is on the corner and it's very beat down from the street to the inside of this post office. They have a decent amount of PO Boxes. It's a very small post office compared to others but in a convenient Mid City location with very very limited parking. Be careful where you park, majority of it is timed parking and the meter police are not afraid to give you tickets. They have only gated USPS personnel's parking on their property. The prices of shipping drastically jumped. I totally get it; due to inflation. So we just gotta suck it up and pay for it. They sale variety size of boxes, envelopes, stamps etc. The service is slow but I know they are doing their best. My rating is for the convenience of this post office. read more

Not sure if their unhappy demeaner comes from themselves internally or from corporate down upon them, but the condescension from the start was unnecessary from the man working the counter. Making the customer feel stupid for asking questions about delivery times and other things doesn't seem like good customer service to me. What might be common knowledge to someone who works for USPS isn't always the same for the general public. Additionally, the phone number listed is invalid and useless. Tried to call ahead to prevent having to physically go there and all it does is ring and ring and eventually disconnect for invalid. You have to call through the main corporate number for assistance with anything and all they have to go off of is what you can see yourself when searching a tracking number. As the condescending man at the counter even said, their online tracking information doesn't even update accurately. If you need help with a delivery or trying to pick up a delivery, don't even bother getting help. Save yourself the headache, being condescended to, and you time, and just stay home and wait the eternity for it to eventually make it's way to you. read more

Probably one of the oldest looking post office I've ever seen. I moved here in 2008, left to another side of tn, then moved back to City Heights again, so this place had brought me some memories. It's walking distance and I don't need to go to Postal Annex which is faraway. The place is small and can be a little chaotic sometimes, but if you just come in to drop your mails and get stamps, you will be in the fastest line in and out. read more

Every time I go here it's a headache. Their plan for social distancing isn't great because it's a small building (looked like it's over 50 years old with zero renovations). One woman is usually always there and every time I see her she looks miserable. One day I saw her being so rude to an elderly man that had trouble hearing, it was sad. This place is in desperate need of a remodel. The post office stinks inside, looks dirty and like it's ready to crumble. The employees are rude and could care less about customer service. I cannot even tell you how many times the carriers have decided not to deliver packages because they didn't want to carry them. Yes, I do order a lot online and they probably hate me but still I pay for the service. At least 10 times I have had to track down a mail carrier or wait at their van for them because theh delivered my mail but did not deliver my packages. One time the carrier was even driving away when I stopped him. When I have complained the manager of this location only asks "well, you got your package right?" Like it is okay I have to chase down my delivery. When I have gone to the post offive to collect my packages the wait times are very long and the employees at the counter are down right rude. They lost my mail again!!! I'm supposed to get mail on the 19th of nov. it is now the 29th. I wonder how many I've been missing?!?!?

Two lost packages in the last week. They miss delivered the one hardback copy of Fala by Kate Klimo I found on Amazon on Sept 20, then they delivered my Wisdom Panel kit to some Post Office box on Sept 26. This is the second time they have lost a Wisdom Panel kit. And when I mailed back an Embark kit, they lost the first one and the second one they send to the wrong post office before they finally delivered it four days late. I know because I followed the deliveries on their Informed Delivery website. Since DeJoy took over the post office has been destroyed. I have had more packages get lost, miss-delivered and arrive late. Now there is no more air mail for first class; it is all going to be moved by trucks so look for even more lost and miss-delivered mail. And we all know whose fault De Joy is in charge and why. There is no space to keep good social distance in this office and they try to fit so many people in here that it's hard for those of us with mobility issues to move around. The people that work at the front desk have confrontational attitudes and are rude to people with different accents. I saw them argue with a guy that had a Middle Eastern accent. I was trying to both pick up a package that had delivery issues and fix the issue that has happened too many times now. I'm physically disabled and have had to come to the post office because they wouldn't leave the mail at the apartment gate or try to get in like Amazon delivery drivers. They were told they were allowed to do so and there is always a problem with delivery here! At this point I want to move just to not have delivery issues but ALSO to not have to deal with this particular postal annex! They don't know what service is and don't treat people respectfully on a consistent basis. I also have severe issues getting into my wheelchair at this location because there is no safe parking for mobility device users that can't move quickly. All the "handicap spaces" are on the side of the street. Not every handicap person "can't drive." I have my caregiver get out of my car and get my wheelchair for me, then she puts me in it from the driver side. Well I think it's just plain discrimination to not account for the people that do drive with disabilities. There are more issues with this USPS location but I don't have the time to continue dealing with the issues here. read more

When it comes to shipping, they will discourage you from using your own "box" and when it comes to theirs, feel free drop it off anywhere anytime. This is a shame that a federal establishment such as this will pick up the phone and hang up. Not any that, when I called back, the line was busy. I have called them the entire day and the phone stayed busy. On one occasion I got a person that placed me on hold for 45 minutes. The line picked up and they hung up on me. Of course when I called back the line was busy. Update I went to the post office to check on my mail. was in line dial their number. I heard the phone ring. Two employees at the front desk not to busy two customers including me. I heard people laughing in the back. Phone still ringing. The employee who helped me had time to take a personal call on her cell phone and walked to the back to check on my mail. read more

Avoid avoid avoid! I've been sucking it up and continue to come here for years because it's the closet USPS to where I live. The staff here ALWAYS have an attitude and they all look like they don't want to be there! They literally will not say anything to you except, "sign here... it costs this much... slide your card now..." I just feel so unwelcome every time I come here. It's ashamed because literally any of the other post offices I go to has amazing customer service. The lines here are always extremely long, out to the door even because the staff takes foreverrrrrrrr with each transaction. It's like they're afraid their boss might make them do other work if they finish with the people in line! Prepare to spend at least 20 minutes here on any given day. And this place is DIRTY! Your everyday, smallish neighborhood post office. That post office smell.. What is that? The envelopes? The packages? You know what i mean, that cold paper smell. And why is there always a line? So many people sending important parcels all at once. And there's always that person with an issue which results in a single checkout to be open. But the employees are always very nice, much like librarians and lunch ladies. You can hear the mail carriers in the morning, laughing and carrying out back before heading out on their route. This place is the worst! The managers don't care or try to help you out, they're super lazy. I hope they get their karma and when they help nobody is willing to even hear them out. I would have to say this branch sucks. They don't open until 9:30am. No bilingual Spanish speaking staff at the front desk in City Heights. On sat there only open for two hours!! They don't have a stamp machine in the lobby so you have to stand in line. Customer service isn't that great. Depends on who you get. To be fair the U.S Postal service is under attack. read more

Let me start by saying if I could give 0 stars, I would. I received the worst customer service today from not only the woman working at the counter, but also her manager. After she dropped my package onto the ground (on accident of course) she didn't say anything. No response, no attempt to pick it up. At this point she hadn't even said a hello or how are you, with no eye contact. I was mildly upset that my package had just fallen off the counter, said something about it, and she immediately became very defensive and curt. Because I'd rather not deal with the drama, I let her know that I wanted to resolve the misunderstanding and let her know that although I knew it was an accident I was upset that she didn't apologize or seem to care that she had offended me in any way. Well she became even more defensive and rude, never making eye contact and dismissing me immediately. I continued asking her to be kind, and if she could even on a human level understand that she was making me upset. Well folks, I was barking up the wrong tree. I asked for my packages back, and asked to speak to someone. Hey guess what, the male employee that came to speak to me was absolutely no help. He was just as insincere, unkind, and dismissive. Except where the female employee was outright defensive and mean, he was absentminded and unphased. He literally responded that they try to keep things impersonal, and to not care, and that they do this everyday. All I wanted was someone to be kind, and connect on a basic human level. It was THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had while just trying to send packages. Meanwhile I immediately drove to the Normal Heights Post Office and received the kindest, most attentive service I could have imagined. The employee even noticed I was upset and apologized for the experience that took place at the City Heights location. So disappointed in my local post office. read more

Absolutely horrible!!! I don't know who runs this place but the pervasive attitude is "don't be helpful!" and "if in the process you can treat everyone like dirt the better." I went in to pick up 2 packages-one I had a slip for the other I could see by following the tracking number the "post office attempted to deliver your UPS SurePost package and left a delivery notice with instructions." First of all - No Notice was left and obviously no instructions. The lady said that if I could provide her with my tracking number she may be able to help. A reasonable request. I stepped aside found it and gave it to her and she called someone else to help me so she could attend to other people. A third person had to come help because lady #2's computer wasn't working. Person 3 said that the tracking number I had was UPS and unless I gave her a correct USPS number she would not help me and furthermore "you need to go stand in line." What!?! I just stood in line and have been waiting for help and the only tracking number I have is UPS. So, I went and stood in line. Then she yells across the lobby, "Do you have a USPS tracking number?" "No, I just have the one I showed you. I am waiting to talk to someone who can help." "Well I'm talking to you now." Okay, I walked back over to her and gave her the same number again clarifying that it says the "post office" tried to deliver my package on Saturday, it didn't come in on Monday's mail, therefore you have my package. And if you provide me a UPS phone number(since you work with them) I could call them to get the tracking number. A 4th lady came out and what do you know, found my package from the original number I provided!!! But lest you think she was all happy to be the hero she gave me attitude that the reason they couldn't deliver the package on Saturday was because the street number was hard to read. Uhm, is that my fault? I didn't address the label to myself. Did I make a stink about it not getting delivered? No, all I wanted was to pick it up. At the same time there was a couple in there who wanted to pick up a piece of mail. For whatever reason they gave them the run around too and made them go back and stand in line AGAIN! Another customer on my right wanted to ship a letter preferably with tracking. They said it would be $6 something but if she just wanted to send it another way it would be $3 something. So she wanted to send it the cheaper route. Then they were going to charge her $6. She said "Wait, there was a cheaper route, and that is how I wanted to send it." "Nope," the employee responded, "You said you wanted to send it priority which is $6 something and if you want tracking it is $6 something. You WEREN'T LISTENING!" I heard and understood the customer that there was a $3 option that she wanted to use. The Employees were not listening or wanting to be helpful. I had a tracking number that they eventually used to find the package. The lady just wanted to ship her letter and not spend $6. The couple had a letter they wanted to pick up. Simple stuff. Why make it a big deal? Why give customers grief and send them back in line? The Adams Ave Post Office is actually pleasant! I went there several times over multiple years in the pre Christmas rush and waited in lines out the lobby and walked away happy and more excited than entering. They're just nice there. This is the SMALLEST and DIRTIEST post office I've ever been to. Also, if you have any problem with your mail, or need to speak with customer service...the manager is nothing short of a jerk. This place is antiquated and has no parking and you ALWAYS have to wait in a long long line. Really only one or two people working? Are you kidding me? Why don't they have automated windows where you can purchase stamps from a machine or have a scale (have you ever been to the Carmel Mountain Ranch Post Office). They have a big lobby and machines that you can weigh and purchase postage and drop it off in the night box. They need to do more of that all over so you don't have to wait in line. read more

Track your package carefully. The little Asian letter carrier will scan the package without attempting to deliver. I caught him twice. Once while I was standing by the door watching him. When I approached him, he said, "Oh you caught me." and made me sign a slip to get my package. I am literally 2 steps from the mailboxes. He also loves to greet the college aged females who walk by but gives me attitude. Most of the time he talking into his Bluetooth headset very loudly. Very unprofessional. read more
