This is my local post office and I don't have anything negative to say about it! The staff is always helpful with questions about how to get your mail to its destination in the most cost and time-effective manner. Boxes and other items are always well-stocked. I highly recommend using the self-serve kiosks if you're able to, they really help expedite the process and I've avoided many a long line by using them. read more

This post office is my go-to post office, simply because it's the closest to where I live. I drop my packages here almost daily, and I've come to love the staff members here. Some of them can be a little moody at times, but they mean well and I've witnessed more customers being outright rude and shouting at them for reasons beyond the staff control. I like this location because: -The USPS packaging, stickers, boxes are readily available. I've only seen them run low once or twice - Parking is readily available and there's a parking lot connected With any USPS, it's just like the DMV at times. Here are some of my tips to make your trips more pleasant: -Mondays are the busiest day, there are always long lines on Mondays -Don't show up at the opening time. I've only been at this place right when it opens a handful of times, and it seems like the staff members don't really start to work until 9:30 or so -Use the kiosks when all you need to do is buy postage for your packages -When your package goes missing, the claims process takes very long and the package will most likely miraculously show up months later. If this is the case, USPS will not pay you the claim, so keep that in mind Overall, I'd say this was a pretty solid USPS location. The prices here are cheaper than UPS, DHL, and Fedex so don't expect amazing top notch service. Let's just be thankful that we still have USPS while it lasts. read more

This review is for the post office on Motor Ave in Palms. The people that work here are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. I've had the displeasure of having to call this location a few times in the past year and every time the person who answered the phone was rude, condescending, inconsiderate, had an attitude like I was bothering them by calling and treated me like I was an idiot. I would give this PO on Motor a good review except they always have substitutes, never a regular carrier. I have Informed Delivery Digest and day after day there is no mail. I've lived on this route for 20+ years, used to be much better but now it's terrible! Packages missing, mail delivered to the wrong streets. Who's running this place? If you call them to ask where is my mail the phone rings and rings then goes to a rapid busy signal. I would give them zero stars if I could. I really like the location because it's convenient however, there is one employee that doesn't fit the customers service mark. Will someone please say something to the little older black lady. She's really nice deep down but she acts like she's everyone's auntie. She doesn't know how to provide good customer service and while she is entertaining and sometimes funny, her overall attitude is offensive. I would strongly suggest someone from management taking a closer look into this. I live around the corner and frequent this usps atleast 3 times per week and I'm always nervous that I'm going to get "auntie". Horrible all around. Carrier 43 does not deliver mail consistently. Gwen on the customer service line verbally assaulted me multiple times and even threatened me. "I know where you live heifer" Supervisor, Ms. Butler, neglected to call me back twice and then had no remembrance of the issue she had promised to help me with. Man, this place is awful. Went here to follow up on a package that hadn't been delivered to my address yet, and was immediately greeted with awful attitude from the supervisor at the time. I don't think I got more than 3 words in before she loudly exclaimed that she can't help me and that I'm a waste of her time. On top of that, she was not wearing a mask (which, to each their own, but that could matter to some people). The fair (there is no good): I don't mind this location when I have to go in to the actual post office. As far as that goes, it's not that bad. The lines do get long but I've never waited more than 20 minutes. Even when it looks longer, the wait is 20 min. The employees inside are nice enough. Way nicer than any employee you'll ever meet at the DMV. The BAD: We caught the woman who delivers our mail PEEING inside the stairwell of our condominium. This is not a joke. We have her on camera! We filed an official complaint with this location. We were told they were handing the situation. For a couple weeks she disappeared from our route. Then she was back. Again, this woman was caught on tape dropping her pants and peeing in our stairwell and she is still delivering our mail. They did nothing! Unbelievable. I have lost all faith in the USPS. It is interesting that some people take the time to write paragraph after paragraph of complaint after complaint until it makes one wonder if what they are complaining about really happened or are they just downright complainers about everything and everyone that happens to cross their path. This is not one of those...quite the contrary. Some money orders I had purchased and filled out were never mailed eleven years ago and turned up in a forgotten pile of papers in a file drawer on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised because it was like Christmas morning when I was a boy. (The addressee had been compensated in another way) Naturally I wanted to cash them in immediately but it was a Saturday and, after an extensive search, I happened upon the Motor Avenue branch of USPS. I did not know if they were still good but I went up to a woman at the counter who was so thrilled for me and extremely friendly and helpful. She wasn't able to cash them out but directed me to another woman at the end of the counter who was just as friendly and excited for me. She gladly cashed them out and I thanked her profusely as she beamed and smiled. I also told her that I had read some nasty reviews of this post office and that I was going to write a rave review and here it is! I would gladly go there again and again. I'd like to update to add that I often have packages that say they were delivered but are not in/at my mailbox or at my door. I've had mail delivered to at least 3 buildings other than mine on my block, who knows how many more places my mail has ended up. I put in a submission on their website that said I hadn't received my package. I basically got told that it was delivered and they're not liable. Expect that it wasn't delivered to me, regardless of what was scanned. I didn't even get an apology or any sympathy that they I didn't receive my package. read more

When she heard I'm speaking in French with my grandchildren then she became even more rude. . She wrote incorrect address on the box I was sending to my Mom. She made me spelled my mom's address 3 times made me wrote on the paper several times still didn't write correctly the address on the box. With my 2 young granddaughters were there almost a hour. She kept raising her voice several times in purpose so people around would say something, I guess she thought could embarrassed me that's why she permeated herself to be extremely aggressive and she was screaming she cannot understand my writing. One of their mail carriers lost one of my packages, by placing it in some other neighbor's mailbox. I put in a claim I never received my package and I lost my money. Within a day, they had closed my claim, and saying it was 'resolved' without really considering calling me and finding out exactly what happened. It wasn't resolved as far as I was concerned, so I called them. They still couldn't offer a legitimate response. They said it had been delivered...to which I said, 'Of course it was delivered, but NOT to me '. I've had a long year of mailing out loads of packages at a time and I have never encountered nicer postal staff than I do every time at this location. The customers I see them dealing with on a daily basis need to learn kindness and patience. The staff here will go out of their way to help you but not when you are berating, insulting and screaming at them. The Supervisor for the routing is also very nice and extremely helpful. My building manager needed the mailboxes replaced at our complex and she went above and beyond ensuring the timing worked for my manager, not the post office. This post office is also very convenient location wise with ample street and garage parking and a UPS store is around the corner if you have to do drop offs at both locations. read more

OMG. Just came from this post office and while I've always mailed my packages here and normally people are okay, and efficient enough, I get my mailing errands done. I don't need them to smile at me or anything, I just need them to treat me like a human being. Today, though, I am compelled to write and warn you all about this USPS worker at the passport services. She's a bleached blonde heavyset black lady who was INCREDIBLY rude to every person who came an hour before closing. Not only was she curt and rude, she was very vague with instructions. She didn't allow more than one applicant in her room, and kicked out anyone else, even if they were applying for a passport (when there were plenty of seats and a writing table in the passport room & it was horribly crowded in the main queuing area of the post office). Even if there was no line outside her door, she insisted on making passport-applicants to leave her room after each step. Paying for the passport, you still had to go line up outside to get a money order and receipt, which took another 15-20 mins. We had to do over our money order forms because of an erasure - the passport lady's (who I heard is called Joyce) told us to write birthday & name. She did not tell us that we had to write them ignoring the 'address' fields on the form. Great. So back in the queue we went. The passport lady didn't even explain that she would be keeping govt issued documents or the possibility of getting it back -- we had to ask other passport applicants/ the asian USPS employee by the counter (who was cool). I wasn't alone in my assessment of her rudeness because a few more people who were applying for a passport were loudly complaining about her each time they left her room, even within earshot of her. Maybe she was having a bad day. Maybe she needs to get out of her job because being a postal service worker/govt worker, ONE NEEDS PEOPLE SKILLS. So many people are dying to find a job in LA and they can be 100x nicer. read more

Pretend that my 1 star review is a negative 1000 stars. I ordered a package to arrive next day and paid extra for expedited shipping. The next day I got a notice saying they were not able to deliver my package. The following day I received a different piece of mail but not the original package I'd been waiting for. Today I went to the post office to pick up my package and waited 30 minutes while they found it. The lady that handed me my package said to me "your carrier is holding your mail because your landlord needs to give us a key for the mailbox. That's why you haven't received mail this week". A few things about that: 1- I have received other mail this week 2-My carrier has lost our key 3 times since I've lived here, that's 3 times in a year and a half. 3-Every Time I order something online I have issues getting it delivered and have to pick it up. I do not know how the service is in the actual Post Office, but someone who works in this location opens every card that looks like it may contain a gift card. I moved from downtown and had zero problems there. When we moved to Palms we had multiple gift cards stolen, so now my grandma sends electronic gift cards for holidays. She still sends a normal card for every holiday and every single time the cards are opened and obviously searched for gift cards. No other mail is opened except the holiday/birthday cards we receive. If you live in an area serviced by this Post Office, make sure you have nothing valuable ever sent through the mail as it will be opened and taken. read more

On Saturdays this post office is open until five which is great. This location has plenty of parking. This is the post office that I go to the most often. However, they used to have more counters and now they took away a couple so there are less cash registers open. Service isn't the fastest but it is usually pretty friendly. If you don't go to this post office I think the next closest one is more towards downtown Culver City. read more

I had packages I needed to ship first thing in the morning before going to work. I was there at 9am, when they're supposed to open at 9am. By 9.20 the doors were finally opened by someone who just told us that none of the clerks had showed up for work! That's how it is there: people just don't show up. Staff here is rude. I was in line and there was a guy who wasn't from here made a mistake on making his package- they were treating him bad and told him they weren't gonna take his package. The man was pretty upset only because it was a simple mistake that anyone could have done but they mishandled it. After the supervisor was called the two employees continued to talk about the man saying: "I'll smack his ass" in front of other customers. I thought that was disrespectful. Though that wasn't my experience, I felt bad. Just come here ready with prepaid shipping labels or whatever. I just had to get a tracking number for my package so I sort of interacted with them but they weren't too mean but I was also really quiet cause of what I had just witnessed. Wish I could give this place no stars. A package was supposed to be delivered, tracking info said it was delivered, I have not received anything. It's been 5 days past the supposed delivery day and still no package. Called the post office, the woman who answered was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Put me on hold for long periods of time only to tell me my package was delivered. No it wasn't. She put me on hold again, then says there was a "discrepancy" with my package and she's giving it to her mail carrier to deliver now. Huh??? What kind of discrepancy? She never told me. This is the second time in a row the website says "Delivered" but nothing in the mailbox. Last time it said "delivered" but it only arrived in the mail the next day. This time, the website says "Delivered at 4:42PM", but when I came home after work, and checked my mailbox at around 7:45PM nothing is inside. I don't know if it will turn out good like last time as when I called them in the evening and spoke with Barbara and then David (supervisor/carrier) they told me they don't see my package anywhere and they won't be able to further help me until I call again tomorrow morning. So right now, I just need to wonder if my package will be delivered eventually tomorrow or did it get lost? Maybe they put it in the wrong mail box unit? Or what is going on? Really bad unreliable service, and when you call their office to complain they also treat you very rudely like it's your fault. I signed up for package notifications on an extremely important delivery. Come the day of expected delivery, I'm told the package is en route. I literally set up a chair outside my building and waited for it to come, as it way my day off, it was a nice day, and it was time sensitive I receive this package. Suddenly I get a text notification from USPS "USPS ### Delivery Attempted - No Access to Delivery Location 10/21/2018 4:21pm LOS ANGELES CA 90034". Not only is there access to my building, but I was waiting outside for it, and saw no USPS employee set foot near my building. Words can't come to explain the lack of professionalism and respect you and your company have towards your customers. Your organization's mission statement is entirely based on the tireless dedication to serve your base, yet you lie blatantly to your customers and do the exact opposite. I would rather a package come a day late and be told it was the fault of the carrier; At least that would be honest. But your dishonestly and lack of commitment is the reason why FedEx and UPS are destroying your market share. If you like action and adventure, I recommend choosing this post office. There are always very long lines, sometimes nearly out the door. Once I had my life threatened by a man in a blue plastic poncho. Also, your package (the one you send, that is) may have an adventure as well, to an unintended destination! B and I have had our letters and packages wind up all over the place whenever we send them from Palms station. So now we both avoid this station unless we don't care where our mail goes. Guess who's earned a call to USPS Consumer Affairs? Yep. That's right. This is what happens when you have a lazy carrier that only likes to deliver light packages and will never even give you as much as a notice of delivery for heavier ones. I hate to be that person, but I have to say it: If you don't like your job and what it entails, then find something else to do. For real. That is like me getting a job as a fitness instructor when God knows that HATE going to conventional gyms. Being a mail carrier means walking, picking ish up and delivering it to said destination. I even tried to flag the mail carrier down to ask about a package and HE RAN TO HIS VAN to avoid me seriously looking back and freaked out because God forbid I ask him to do any work. I called to file a complaint about not getting my mail and the lady who answered said that I should call back tomorrow morning between 8-9 am TO ASK THE MAIL CARRIER TO DELIVER MY MAIL. Whatever you do, do not mail your wedding invitations from here. My fiancee took one of our wedding invitations here to get a postage estimate. The clerk took our envelope, weighed it, handled it and told us it would cost $.59 to mail. We got a second opinion from another clerk, confirming the $.59 rate. We then ordered 200 custom-made $.59 stamps on Zazzle.com, spent hours stuffing and stamping all of them and when we took them to the Palms Station today, we were told that it should be $.79. What?!!!! Another clerk told us $.59 was okay. Another clerk told us it should actually be $1 -- and a fourth clerk told us $.96. That's 4 completely different prices from one post office!!! How could this be possible? Who is training these people? We were told that if they were mailed with insufficient postage, they'd either get returned or the recipient would have to pay the excess postage. We decided instead of losing sleep, we would add another $.42 stamp to every single one of our invitations (thereby disrupting the whole aesthetic of the personalized stamp thing we were going for.) I am leaving 2 reviews. 1. I've sent out packages here before and some of the clerks at the front desk were very helpful in doing so that is why this is not a 1 star review and is an unbiased and factual review. 2. The 0 stars comes from my entire apt complex not receiving mail for almost 2 weeks and no one at the post office has an idea why. When I called an spoke to the supervisor Whitney, she said there must not be a problem because I am the first person to call. What kind of logic is that? To not receive mail in the first place is an extremely uncommon issue, and assume there is no issue b/c no one else has called is asinine. Many other tenants left notes on the mail box and gate to our complex asking why no mail was being delivered, and they received no response from the carrier. No one else called b/c they all went down to the office and were not given any answers, but they likely did not ask to speak with a supervisor like I did. I called back the next day the office was open and talked to a supervisor, Ralphie. He said I could come pick up the mail and asked if I would like to talk to the carrier. The carrier said the buzzer on our gate was broken so he "said" he left a note on the gate. No one at the complex was aware of any note. Furthermore, is that how he handles the entire situation? just to leave a note. Additionally, we left notes asking why there was no mail and he did not write anything back to respond. None of the supervisors I spoke to had any idea that we weren't getting mail. The carrier never reported it to the supervisors, even after not delivering the mail for almost 2 weeks. I asked the carrier if I could come pick up the mail from him based on what Ralphie said, and he said I could not come to the station to pick it up from him. When I asked why he never told any supervisors he hung up on me. Additionally, during this time we weren't getting mail, the carrier even went on vacation. However, while he was on vacation, all of the sudden I finally received 2 pieces of mail from the substitute carrier. I called back and spoke with Ralphie and let him know the carrier just hung up on me mid conversation and Ralphie could care less. Then I let Ralphie know that even though he said I could come pick up the outstanding mail at the office, the carrier said I could not do that. Ralphie then said I couldn't come pick it up b/c the outstanding mail was unorganized. The carrier had stated that he was going to deliver the almost 2 weeks of outstanding mail before he hung up on me previously, and when I asked Ralphie how the carrier was going to do so if it was unorganized, Ralphie without any notice, put me on hold and after being on hold for several minutes, I called back once again. I had to ask for Ralphie and finally he said they separated my mail and I could come pick it up. The good news is that I was able to get my mail that included check payments from my work and they were not lost. The bad news is that one of the other tenants had gone down the station and spoken to the carrier previously and the carrier did say there was a large bin of undelivered mail for our complex, but the bin had gone missing and they had to find it. Fortunately they did find it but the fact that it was missing at some point is beyond comprehension. I have called USPS consumer affairs at (323)-586-1250 to file a complaint. After filing the complaint, the Palms station called me immediately to ask what the issue was and how they can better the situation. The clerk calling me was one of the extremely unhelpful people I spoke to on my initial visits to the office to investigate the situation who shrugged his shoulders and walked away when I explained the entire situation to him. Competency starts from the top and it seems that the lack of structure, organization, communication, and helpfulness from the supervisors is also demonstrated by some of their employees. Hell on earth. I haven't received mail in 4 business days. After 3 business days, I knew something was definitely up, as it is rare I do not receive mail for even 1 day, let alone more than 1 consecutive day. I tried calling the USPS, but after going through their automated system I was on hold for 20+ minutes and gave up. Then this morning, the 4th business day, my husband saw the mail carrier in the lobby of our building, delivering mail - but not in our box. He asked what was up and she said one of the other boxes in our strip had jammed it for the whole row of mailboxes and she had been unable to deliver mail for nearly a week. Nice of her to let someone know, right? She had not notified our on-site manager, nor did she post any type of notice whatsoever indicating that there was a problem or undeliverable mail. She informed him that our mail was at the Palms post office on Motor Ave. I figured it wasn't that big of a deal, and I'd swing by and pick it up. I was very wrong. I walked over to the post office, about a 10 minute walk, and had my small Yorkie with me (he was on a leash, and I was carrying him under my arm so he wasn't even on the ground) and as soon as I entered, I was told I had to leave because of the dog. I explained I just wanted to get my mail and that I hadn't received it in nearly a week. The lady did not want to hear a single word I had to say, and insisted that I leave. I tried to explain that I was happy to step out and wait outside, but could someone just come bring me my mail? She literally refused to hear a word I was trying to say, and just kept speaking over me. I was so frustrated that A) I hadn't gotten my mail in nearly a week (and was awaiting a very important document), B) she wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise, C) she was shouting at me, despite the fact that I was trying to calmly speak to her. It was humiliating, and the woman was so mean to me that she literally brought me to tears over MAIL (yes, I was having one of THOSE days). One very kind woman who was waiting in line and overheard this employee belittling me and treating me so poorly, said "I can hold your dog for you while you get your mail." She was very kind, but I didn't want to impose on a stranger in that way, and didn't think it was smart to leave my dog with someone I didn't know, so I thanked her, but politely declined. I left in tears, feeling that this employee had completely disrespected me and was refusing to use a common-sense solution by helping me while I waited outside. I walked back home with my dog, left my dog at home, and then immediately drove back to the post office to try to get my mail. I wanted to ensure they would still be open, because I know some post offices close earlier at the beginning of the week, so I tried calling their number. It rang and rang and rang, and then went to an awful, high-pitched sound, almost like a fax machine noise even though it was their phone number. I ended up finding their hours online to confirm they were still open, and drove over. When I entered, the same woman who had treated me so poorly was still there, and had no remorse for making me feel so terrible. She looked down on me and told me that she had sent someone outside to look for me, but that I had left. I responded, "because I was told to," and she said nothing, just gave me a dirty look. I was finally assisted by another woman at the post office, whom I explained my situation to. She went in back to look for my mail. I waited for about 15 minutes, patiently. She returned with no mail and said she had nothing for me. I told her that the carrier herself said my mail would be there, but this woman insisted the carrier must have all my mail on her and that there was no report of any problem with delivering mail so she didn't know why I didn't get it. I felt completely helpless and didn't know what to do. I was told I could call the post office between 8:30 and 9 to speak with a carrier supervisor. After having already called the 800 number and been on hold 20+ minutes, and called the local post office number only to have it ring and ring and ring followed by the high-pitch noise, I really don't know what to do. The management at my building is now aware of the problem that the carrier failed to report, and the mailbox situation is corrected so that mail can be delivered. But I am not too confident I will receive it, after all I've experienced. Between phone calls, hold time, searching their website for answers, waiting in line, and multiple visits to the post office, I have wasted many hours trying to deal with this dilemma, and yet I still have no mail. The problematic service and mail delivery is evident, but what is truly upsetting here is the way they treat human beings, like trash. They lack compassion or empathy, refuse to work with people to come to reasonable solutions, and at the end of the day, do not help meet customer needs in the least. Very upsetting. read more

I live in a mid-sized gated complex. In the last few months we haven't received much of our mail. The mail lady bangs the mail boxes, leaves them open and doesn't deliver anything. She is always on her phone yelling at someone or laughing. Many of us have complained to the local office either online or in person. Since then all mail has completely STOPPED. Our manager went to the local branch and was made to wait for 2 hours. The supervisor was rude and gave her the run around. WE ARE BEING HELD HOSTAGE. One tenant just lost her job and can't get her unemployment checks, I haven't gotten tax documents (that have my social security number), insurance documents, medical documents, and rebate cards that are worth money. Isn't this illegal?!! In May I mailed 8 items on the same visit and paid at the counter (for which I received an itemized receipt). One of the items was certified. After about 3 weeks only 1 of the 8 had arrived at it's destination. That means they lost 7 pieces of mail. I phoned and visited the Palms post office several times and the "tenured" employees couldn't be bothered to lift a finger to help me find and track the lost items, including the certified piece of mail. Specifically, Carolyn and Mrs. Hall dicked me around for about 10 days before telling me they couldn't (but more specifically, WOULDN'T) do anything to look into why 7 pieces of mail that I handed directly to a clerk went missing. After numerous complaint calls to the 800 #, I got a postal investigator on the phone who works in Pasadena. She told me the Palms station is one of the worst post offices in L.A. County and was on her list for special 'rehab' to get the employees there to give better customer service. Good luck! I was just there again recently and there was a woman ahead of me who came in to inquire about a lost piece of Express Mail that she sent from West L.A. to Marina del Rey (don't ask me why she just didn't freakin' drive her mail over there, but that's what she said). Her mail was supposed to be delivered the next business morning and it never arrived. In addition to the horrible lost mail problem at this station, the lines are usually quite long, like Soviet era long... if you must use USPS, I'd try going to another station (try Beverly Hills if you can, they're really good there). However, I'm now going to make a concerted effort to make electronic payments and use UPS or FEDEX when I can. At least their lost mail is insured. read more

3 of my 4 packages in the past month were supposedly delivered, yet not one at work actually received them. We have the most rude delivery man who refuses to deliver through the back entrance on La Cienega, and my supervisor has found personal packages carelessly left on our front stoop for anyone to steal. I'm going to have security footage checked to see if this is 1) negligence on the delivery man's part or 2) theft by one of the workers. I visited the post office on Wednesday to search for package #2, and the supervisor took down my name and number. Not to my surprise, I never got a call back. Needless to say, this is beyond unacceptable. I don't have deliveries sent home because it's also an open space for anyone to steal stuff. I never had issues with this until mid-January. I am very willing to open an investigation on this, since the USPS is unhelpful. read more

Worst experience ever. Lost packages, mail has not been delivered in over two weeks, Gwen in customer service was shockingly rude and unprofessional - told me there was a discrepancy with my package being delivered. I asked what do you mean? She said I could look up the work in the dictionary. Every attempt to rectify the lost packages and mail has been met with sarcasm and rudeness. I'm just shocked at this behavior and lack of professionalism. read more
