I was a bit hesitant to go into this post office yesterday solely off the reviews. I literally needed to mail off a package to Louisiana quickly on my 15min break. It was plenty of parking, and only 1 person in line ahead of me. Then when it was my turn, I was speaking to the "rude" per other reviews associate and she was super nice. Then I heard my name, I looked up and my little cousin works there!! I was so happy to see her because it's been yearsss! Basically I was in and out within minutes and got to hug my cousin whom I hadn't seen in along time. We got chat quickly and then I was on my way. The experience was nice, no issues whatsoever. My only complain is $17.85 for a package under 2lbs. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I absolutely would. My family and I just received notice that our passport applications were not accepted because they were missing the "location and signature of the passport acceptance agent", in other words, Clerk 98 failed to properly complete their portion of the application. This is completely unacceptable and has now caused a major and entirely avoidable inconvenience for my family. We trusted this location to correctly process our applications, and because of an employee's failure to do so, we're now left dealing with the consequences. I need someone in a position of authority at this location to contact me ASAP and explain how this is going to be corrected. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. Rudest customer service agents ever. Went in for SCHEDULED passport appointment which was booked the evening before in the concord post office via a computer. Showed her the appointment conf after being told there was no appointment. She couldn't care less and told me there was not time even tho online there are multiple appointments available. The skinny African American lady that works the front counter is ALWAYS rude. Why they don't address this is beyond me. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!!!! CAUTION!!!!! WARNING!!!!!! I have never been so disrespected! I thought a government job would be sought out for and wanted. This mail person off the bat was aggressive, rude, verbally abusive, and created a hostile environment. Long story short, I asked how much to send out a package. I went to go pay and the signature popped up, I asked I don't want the signature. She responded with it's free... when I went to ask her again what my question is she became erratic. I told her that customer service is not her skill and she should be somewhere in the back in the dark cause she was acting like she is queen. I asked for someone else to help me and she laughing said I'm the only one.. I said let me talk to your manager, he stood behind the door and talked through the glass. I told him the story and he let me finish my sentence and said don't worry they don't have to sign for the package. I said great and he told me to go back to her. Reluctantly I went back and slid the box to her and she pushed the box back hitting me in the chest. She has now not only verbally attacked me but also now it became physical. She does not reserve the right to refuse service as I pay the United Staes Postal Service through my taxes, you have no right to deny service to a citizen!!! I have already sent a message through the USPS portal and that complaint went to the manager. He called me and basically asked what do you want me to do. I said nothing you didn't assist me in the first place and made me go back to her, you are the problem to. I called the post office to requester a complaint ( 5 boxes containing computers were left out on an uncovered potion of my porch, while it was forcast to rain). The person answering the phone at the post office, immediately started to defend the reasoning why the boxes could of been left out in the rain, ie, I did not leave specific delivery instructions with the shipper to deliver the 5 boxes with computers, to a covered portion of my porch. She then hung up on me twice. She did not even ask for the tracking numbers. I called back a second time to give her the tracking numbers to identify the delivery and she told me she had all the info she needed and hung up on me again. The distance from where the boxes were left in the open that were rained on to the covered portion of my porch, was 6 feet. My next door neighbor, a handycapped person, saw the boxes being rained on and took it upon herself to pick them up and carry all five boxes, the six feet, to the covered portion of our porch next to the front door! read more

Hands down the most disrespectful "customer service". I actually can't believe how rude the staff is here. As someone that doesn't ship packages often at all I was confused as if they allow taping on the return label since they can't print any out at the moment, I printed my own and needed to wait to tape since I needed packaging for one, the lady with glasses and the scrunchie in her hair half up half down today at 10:15am was awful. She rudely told me I had the wrong shipping bag, told me I could only use the tape if I buy priority and need to get back in line. I followed her instructions and waited in line to be told I can't buy priority shipping bag if I already had printed out labels. She saw all my packages had pre printed labels. I bought my own tape which honesty, if you guys are unable to print out labels at the moment and we're bringing you printed labels from home, just tape the damn labels for us??? And to be so incredibly rude on top of that. She sure made everyone asking questions feel dumb when it could have been a simple answer or helpful explanation. I will drive way out of my way to another location because wow....do better. read more

So I had another package to send and this one was on my way home and right off the freeway, so Siri took me here. I actually really like this post office. It looks large from the outside but it's actually small and quaint inside. As soon as I walked into the lobby, the lady there greeted me with a smile. She was fast and efficient with sending my international package, she's done this a time or two. I'm glad I stopped here. When I'm in the area again, I'll use them for my postal needs. read more

Today on Monday, June 2, 2025, I arrived in the parking lot of the post office at 4:55 pm and walked into the lobby only to find that the door to the counter was locked. There was an employee inside who refused to unlock the door and told me to drop my package off to the side (I'm not sure how she would know what kind of service I needed). Regardless, she refused to open the door and had no explanation as to why she closed up early. When I demanded she open the door, she started making sounds "wah wah wah" and whining noises. Another woman came in and couldn't believe the behavior she was witnessing or the fact that the post office was closed before 5:00. Tuesday I came to this post office. I wish I can give NO stars, zero stars for this place. Horrible, terrible customer service. I'm wondering how come these people still have their jobs, here at this post office. They need to fire everybody and hire new friendly people. The people that work here are miserable with their lives, and they hate their job. People that love their jobs don't act the way they do. But nothing surprises me these days. Especially in today's day and age and what we're living in. I came to this post office, to seek answers on why I did not receive my piece of documentation. My son is in the military serving this country. It's been a month since I have not seen him or spoken to him. I get an email with a snapshot of what I'm going to be receiving in my mailbox. I have been receiving this type of electronic update for years, and have never ran into this problem before. There was a letter that was addressed to me, alongside with another piece of document. When I go check my mail, there was just that one piece of documentation, but my son's letter was not in my mailbox. Extremely frustrating I miss my son so much. And for the lack of this post office delivering mail on time, not to mention that this is very important documentation. I was told by the Latin lady after 10 days the documentation could be lost. I asked her, you mean to tell me that the post office is losing my mail ? The lack of respect there of that I received from the lady that assisted with my concern. I was told by the supervisor that I cannot obtain her name. After being frustrated, that they lost my son's letter in the mail. This is important very important documentation. That all of a sudden the post office is supposed to deliver. So I had asked the supervisor Caucasian man, with a beard blue eyes about 5'9. That helped me at the door with a plastic scratched up window. Could barely see him because of the sun glare. I told him I want to report those females can I get their names. He said, he isn't allowed to give any names. Are you f'ing with me? What am I supposed to do? Describe her? I wanted to take a picture of her. Post it here on this platform. I want to go above and beyond to report. Her attitude, her demeanor, her lack of respect for me as a customer. Plus the black lady, that yelled and said ma'am. When I'm not even old enough to be a ma'am, I'm a Miss. Totally disrespectful at all cost. I told the supervisor the proper thing to do was to come and get me. While I was outside making an important phone call. Talking to my son Staff Sergeant. I am going to report this entire post office and staff that work at this location. I had explained to her what had happened. She did not even bother to empathize. With my reason of being upset. Since I don't know her name, and was asked to describe how she looks. She was a female, but she looked like a male. Probably in her late 40's early 50's. I believe she was some sort of Latin culture. Black hair, black eyes. She had her hair tied back, reading glasses and she had a straight face with no smile. It's called RBF. She probably couldn't even crack a smile. Her personality sucks at all cost. She acted like I owed her friendly, smiley customer service. When I'm the customer, there was a black lady that worked right beside her. She's probably in her late 20's , about 5'2. She was the one that screamed ma'am, while I was at the door talking to my son's recruiter. You cannot trust this post office. If they lost my piece of important documentation. I can only imagine how much more they've lost of other people's mail. It is just SO! terrible, terrible, terrible staff that work at this location. I hope these people never have to experience what I did. But if they do, I hope they remember my face. Because karma is a bitch. You're gonna have to eat it up. read more

Amazing service! I went in to priority mail a gift on a Wednesday afternoon. There was no line. The ladies at the counter were super helpful. They advised me that I could use a smaller box and likely save some money. This was after my original box was already sealed. Ended up saving me $16 dollars. read more

We're going to file a complaint not that anyone will do anything! My son needing to get his passport for a family trip had an appointment last week and the woman that does it told him he had to reschedule because he was late when he was NOT late! He was told to stand in line and she told him he was late and to come back. She knew who he was because he rescheduled and then called him and told him they were too busy to help him so now he's had 2 cancelled appointments and will need his passport expedited on his dime. He's lost time and money due to this woman! Now here is the kicker the same woman messed with my other son last year when he was getting his passport for a family trip. It was so bad she spelled his name wrong and he had to have it corrected and didn't get his passport which he had to pay a ton of money for because she did this intentionally. He got his passport the day before he left! Has anyone else had this issue with Martinez post office??? read more

We showed up early to our passport appointment as instructed online. Only to be told to go back to the lobby and wait for our appointment time. Not a minute later we were called over to take our pictures. That was laughable. We walk over for them to tell us you need to mail it out "the instructions are on the application". No guidance or explanation, nor help to review everything was correct and in order. Lastly, the front clerk had the nerve to say what's wrong you with coming in with attitude. Horrible costumer service. A lady named Lynette was insanely rude to my dad, stepsister and I, She had a disgusting attitude. We came on time to our appointment yet I forgot to fill out some forms so she gave me 5 minutes to fill them out. I took the five minutes and finished on time, returned to the desk and she refused to take me. She said that she has people waiting and that there was another appointment yet the post office was completely empty. My dad mentioned that he took time off of work and I took time off of school and she was extremely dismissive while smacking on her gum and laughing at us in front of her coworker. My dad turned to the coworker to ask if she could maybe help and Lynette said "Don't speak to these people." My dad got upset and we ended up leaving. There are numerous bad reviews specifically about her and one mentioning she assaulted someone. I do not know why she still has her job and she should be fired immediately. read more

The amount of junk mail we get is ridiculous. 16 page leaflets. I try to sort through junk and the real mail as the real mail accidently gets inserted into the 16 page leaflets. We missed an important letter because of this. There are no telephone numbers to stop the leaflets. I stopped by the Martinez branch to talk to the Postmaster and he wasn't seeing anybody. I was told to fill out a form or email. The email came back: Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups: patrickguidry@usps.gov I know the US Post Service is making money from all the advertisements but we should have a voice on whether we want to receive them. USPS has done it again! Received a package today from a friend, but it quite obviously been ripped open, this is beyond a little tear. There is a ton of stuff missing out of the box, as if somebody dug through it and took things out. Since it was only insured for $100, which way exceeds all the items that magically came up missing during transit. We are not going to bother with an insurance claim, because we know it'll be a big hassle and they most likely won't do anything. Take a look at the picture, how in the world is it acceptable? I sincerely cannot believe that my mail person dropped this off at my door with a giant hole in it. Sometimes I have no idea whether the mail person is actually making an effort to make deliveries. I received my mail, but did not receive my package. My tracking status says, "No Access to Delivery Location" even though my apartment is in the same hallway where the mailboxes are. How can you get inside the building to deliver mail, but then claim you have no access to my apartment even though it's 200 ft away from the mailboxes? This is not the first time this has happened either. Another past package once listed it had been delivered, even though it wasn't. Two days later, it was delivered to my mailbox... However, I received a slip saying that $4.20 was due for a "package". The "package" in question was a small bubble mailer, 6" x 4 1/4" that weighed 1/4 of an ounce, when holding it's contents, a tiny pack of seeds. It already had a Nonmachinable surcharge stamp on it. Worst customer service of any post office I have ever been to. I haven't gone inside for years because the last time tgevlerk was so rude. Well, today was no better. Please train your people better! No one wants to deal with them, so I thought I would help my boss out, and pick up her packages. Nope. Not without an ID with the address of our business. They wait until the appointments show up then tell them they can't help because of their staffing problem. If I could leave this location zero stars I would. If you have to get a passport renewed, go somewhere else because this place has the rudest worker that I have ever encountered in a post office. The worst customer service and the worst attitude. Arrived for our appointment 15 minutes early and was told that we had to wait in the lobby and she would call us when ready. There was nobody ahead of us so there was no reason why she couldn't take us a little sooner. Our appointment for passport application is 2:00 to 2:15pm We arrived there at 2:07pm the 30th of August. Renewing my passport was an unpleasant experience in the Martinez post office located at 4100 Alhambra Ave, Martinez, CA on 8/2/2022. The window clerk, Raeanna, was very rude and arrogant. When we arrived at 12:57pm for our 1:00 pm appointment, there was no one in line but she told us to wait in the lobby. Then, she called us, "PASSPORT!" I didn't realize she was calling us at first. I meant I put my name under my appointment. She could have called my name. I feel that was unprofessional. I told her we have 3 appointments, for myself and my kids. When she found out we didn't fill out the form for my kids, she told us that I need to fill out the form and print them out, and that my husband has to be there because my daughter is under 12. " I told her , then we have to go home and come back, she said, you have to come back on time and I told her, "I got it." We live close by and because we have three appointments at 1, 1:15 and 1:30pm, I was thinking I should be able to do it in 15 minutes and reschedule mine later. When four of us (including my husband) came back at 1:30pm, she told us, "oh, I told you, you could have to fill out the form here and call your husband to come here, I already have someone here for their 1:45pm appointment. Really?! First of all, she did not say that! She told us, we needed to fill it out and print it out and that was why we went home! My daughter, my son and myself all heard that. Our last appointment is at 1:30pm and we are here on time. I only want to get my daughter's done. Then she said, "HURRY UP and give me your daughter's documentation. And where is her birth certificate? " I said, I didn't know we had to bring it. She said, "oh yes, you have to." At that moment, I already knew that I had to go somewhere else to get my passport done. This lady wasn't going to help us at all. She sent us home, didn't tell us what we need, didn't tell us there are forms in the post office that we could fill it out; knowing we are not familiar with the process. She is expecting the customers to make her job easier by prepared all the things they need. If the customers didn't meet her expectation, they will be yelled at. This kind of work attitude is unacceptable. The story has not ended, we asked to speak to the supervisor, and the supervisor, Michelle Garcia came out. When I tried to tell her what happened, she interrupted and said," Why didn't you get your document ready?" in a very rude tone. Really?! Excuse me !? Am I her student who forgot to turn in my homework?? Is this called "CUSTOMER SERVICE??" This USPS location needs some serious customer service training from the supervisor to the employees. I gave this location a five stars review 6 years ago because I did receive good service from both the window clerks and the older lady who assisted us on the passports years ago. The postal carriers that come out of here are really hard working and nice. Supervisors will take the time to listen to your complaints (But do they resolve the issue is the question?) 9/10 counter employees are professional and polite. There's just one girl, ( tall, never smiles, eyes looks lit all the time, and really the only one there who has a look on her face like she hates being there), - absolutely lazy. I had an eBay item that I prepaid shipping for online with the eBay system. If the post office does not scan the item in front of you you have no proof that you dropped it off. I always ask for a receipt. But this one woman refused to scan it and asked that I just put it on the counter where other prepaid (some eBay) items were piled up. Waited in line 15 minutes. Just to go back and forth with this woman about having her scan the item. She flat out refused. I get that they're busy. I get that everyone else was on break and she was alone with a long line of people. But we pay for this postage. It's not free. And if I'm willing to wait in line, she should be willing to take the 15 seconds it takes to scan my item and hand me a receipt. Janky. Will be reporting this to the Post Master General. To not want to provide a scanned receipt that a parcel was dropped off is just a setup for potential theft. This hasn't been the first time this employee has shown an unwillingness to do her job. I now drive to Pleasant Hill to send stuff out. Night and day difference in service! Even when the Pleasant Hill employees look like they're having a rough day, they hold it together like they care about their jobs. Will also be writing the Mayor of Martinez. The property tax I pay to live here, you'd think the city would be a host to a properly functioning Post Office. read more

I only needed to drop off a package but I saw all the drama unfold. They had a line of 15 people who'd been waiting to get their passports. The woman who was processing passports took a 1.75hr lunch and didn't tell anyone what was going on, no one knew where she was. When she came back at12:30 (they close at 1pm) she said she would only help 2 people. Everyone was super angry and yelling because there was no communication and they'd been waiting 4 hours. Then the supervisor said she would help speed up the process by helping get applications together but she couldn't process because she wasn't certified. Everyone thought this meant that they'd be able to get more people through but 10 till the passport woman said 'nope these 2nd people are the last people', the supervisor and everyone else in line was begging to at least help the 3rd person who'd been waiting there with a newborn who'd been crying the past 2 hours. The woman refused. If you can avoid coming here, you should. And if you're waiting more than 20 mins for anything you should just leave. read more

I have been waiting for three months to hear a response to a claim concerning an accident on my bicycle caused by a local carrier that caused me to see urgent care and get X-rays. Driver pulled out blindly in front of me, causing me to skid and hit the pavement really hard. I filled out the required form and provided a statement but haven't heard a peep. The decision is at the local postmaster level. The phone number provided to me and on this Yelp page are never answered and there is no voicemail. Not consistent with usps theme, We Deliver. Rant: Do not go to the Alhambra USPS for passport photos. Linda P. and Raeanna W. at the counter had horrible customer service. I arrived at 12:00 to my 12:15 appointment for my oldest daughter's passport photo. My husband and other children had a 1:30 appointment. As soon as I arrived I alerted Reanna that I had an appointment. She then proceeded to tell me I needed copies of stuff that I eventually found out I didn't need. I ran to FedEx and obtained copies and came back 5 minutes "late". She said "too bad you're late now. So you have to reschedule." I immediately asked for a supervisor. 20 minutes later, Linda P comes to a door in the lobby "what do you want?". I asked if she was a supervisor and she said no. So again I asked for a supervisor and she said "well you're going to be sitting here for a while." Rolled her eyes and slammed the door. Finally, a supervisor came out. He said a lot of people have missed their appointments and if the 12:45 missed their appointment we could have it. 12:44 I start getting in line. No one is to be found. Charles, another supervisor comes out and says "sorry I don't know where the two ladies are that do passports." 12:53 Linda comes and says that she refuses to help me because "She's late now to her 12:45 appointment". Charles then explains how I've been waiting now for 53 minutes and she is the one late. Another couple comes in and they are greeted with attitude and horrible customer service. Charles asks Linda to please start the paperwork and send us to the "door" in the lobby. Linda swings the door open and hand gestures me to move out of the way, looks me in my eye and says "I'm not helping you! You are late and now these people are here." The time is now 1:03. She asks the couple their appointment time. They state 1:00 and she says "you're late and you don't have your paperwork. Reschedule your appointment," and closes the door. Mind you this "paperwork" they say we are missing is false and nowhere on the government website. Now the couple and myself go to Charles at the counter to explain what just happened AGAIN. Reanna comes out. My husband now arrives at 1:10 with my other children to process their paperwork for their 1:30 appointment. Reanna says "I don't know who's going to help them because I'm going on my entitled lunch and since I won't be back, you're going to have to reschedule." At this point, I don't want anyone touching my paperwork. There's a lot of bickering back and forth and I left. The other couple was in disbelief of what happened. I was shocked and can honestly say that I kept my composure the entire time. Come to find out 8 people were turned away for their passport photo because of nonsense yesterday. read more

Why do post office issue Money Orders but don't have the funds to cash them?? Came here after 12 noon and lady up front looked at me like she was shocked I had money orders to cash!
