I was at the Walnut Creek post office the other day, with one person in front of me in line, I waited 30 minutes. Tamiesha and her coworker had us in & out in two minutes. There was at least five people in line ahead of us. Super fast and efficient, but also just real nice and great vibe! I haven't seen postal workers this kind, happy, or quick in a minute. I came to return a package for my mom at this USPS store and the guy was nothing but rude. When he said he'd give a free bag but said "next time tape it" I felt his tone came off harsh because at most post offices and even UPS stores they usually package stuff for me and all I came to do was simple return. He also expected me to give a happy face review for the service when his tone was harsh. If a manager can tell him how to talk to customers for future reference that would be great. read more

So I've come to this post office, occasionally, in the past few years. But recently I've been coming more often because my friend has recently moved to Belize and would like a few things from home that just can't be found there. I have dealt with three different employees there so far and each and every one of them have been very kind and guided me through the process of mailing a package internationally. Today I thought I'd try going to that small post office in Martinez, after getting rude and unprofessional service from Kim at that post office, I grab my package and headed straight to the Pleasant Hill office. I was greeted with a warm and genuine smile, and was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. I will going back to this office for all of my future package needs. read more

If you're coming on a Saturday, be aware that they do close a bit early. I stopped by at 1:30 PM, which was exactly 30 minutes before closing time. There were four people in line in front of me and the line went extremely fast. One cool thing that I noted was there was a customer who spoke Arabic and the representative from USPS pulled out her phone and got Google translate going and was able to ask her the questions that she needed to help her. Great customer service. Excellent location. It's very small but service is always friendly and quick. They also sell gift cards here in many different denominations. Hard to prove because you can not get anywhere in their system without spending your own time pursuing legal action but if you don't want checks disappearing and missing packages I would choose a different postal facility to drop off your mail. Incidents have occurred way too often to just be random anomalies. read more

This United States Postal Service store is currently one of the best in the area. Never had a single issue with anything there! Staff members that are friendly and have positive attitudes. Not like the majority of USPS facilities at all. Most of the time, there is not much of a wait, and it is important not to let the attitudes of some of the area's customers affect you. The USPS staff who assisted me were, without a doubt, some of the most helpful and diligent people I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. The line can grow quite long, but this is a very popular area of the city (near downtown). While I wait in line, I can see that they are working as quickly as they possibly can. To tell you the truth, the location is somewhat modest, but they do provide a wide variety of greeting cards, boxes, and other shipping goods. read more

I dread going to this post office but unfortunately it is the closest to my home. Between the homeless that hang out in front and the smell of dog urine from the grooming business next door, I literally have to hold my nose when walking in. Since this post office has tendency to lose my packages, I now have to video tape myself dropping off the packages in the drop box. Thank goodness I do this because I dropped off a package last week and there is no record of it having been received yet alone delivered. read more

I just had the pleasure of dealing with Marcella, she gave me all of my options for sending out my letter with a tracking number. She was so kind and patient. Throughout the process she explained that I am covered for up to $50 if the letter was lost and printed the receipt to show me my tracking number. She's awesome! read more

I'm going to bump up my review from 3 to 5 stars because lately, this location has really stepped up their game. Customer service has been stellar, the lines have been moving quicker and no problems are being caused between customer and employee. Big thumbs up ! Today really stood out when the gentleman (Filipino I think?) helped me out with a package that I was sending to my sister to Florida. You know that feeling of dread you have when you need to actually go into a post office...on a Saturday!!! Its so anxiety inducing. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I was shipping a large package to Washington State and my package was too big for the self check out machine. May I add, when you can use it, the self check out machine is one of the best inventions of my lifetime. Unfortunately, I could not use it and had to stand in line. The employees were plowing through as fast as they could. Which, depending on the post office location, doesn't happen. In this instance I blame the customers for making the process long, time consuming and all around annoying. At one point I had to tell the guy in front of me to go to the window because he wanted to talk to another stranger four people behind me about Game of Thrones. Get out of my face and get your business done. If you're next in line, stand at attention and move when prompted. This is not the time for nonsense. Avoid on a Saturday at all costs. read more

Went to this specific location since I needed to send two letters to people in Pleasant Hill. So, I mailed it from Pleasant Hill to Pleasant Hill. One never received the letter. The other one I paid over $6 for tracking and was told it would be there the next day. It has been a week and it is now in Sacramento! WT? I called USPS and they said a supervisor will get back to me in 2-3 days. :( I'll be stopping by in person tomorrow. read more

I've been using this location for all in-person transactions for 10+ years. I like it because it's small and kind of tucked away. Overall they do pretty well. The people working there have been mostly helpful and pleasant. Today I went in with a box and a pre-paid label for a return. All that was required was a couple strips of tape for the lid and label. They refused to use their (apparently) precious and rare packing tape to seal it up. My only option was to purchase an entire roll from them. In my opinion, when the US Post Office gets this petty with supplies, they're forgetting the final word in their official agency title: SERVICE You guys may want to keep in mind that without your customers, you have no reason to exist. There's an African-American lady that works there by the name of Yvette. SHE'S AWESOME. She knows how to move the line and is knowledgeable! She usually knows the question you are about to ask and reassures you with the right answers and procedures. Any company would be happy with her as as an employee. Not usually one to write reviews but Rowena behind the desk was so nice I just had to. Post offices are always going to be busy; that's just the way it is. Came in to drop a couple packages that I had stamped up using our machine at work but I wanted to double check that I had the right amount of postage on. Rowena was kind enough to double check them and even assign them tracking numbers (our machine at work won't do that). Super pleasant lady... afterwards her and her coworker Han gave me some nice restaurant recommendations nearby. This place is my new go-to Post Office moving forward. This is my new neighbourhood Post Office in Pleasant Hill. Like my Albany counterpart, it's within easy walking distance of home. However, it lacks the distinct architecture and community feel that I enjoy on Solano Avenue. Yet for the car-side drop off, an always open lobby, and various desk services, this place works for what it is. read more

Lack of service - Horrible service; after dropping off a package, like I've always done in their big drop off container; package didn't make it to its destination; upon my in person inquiry they just yelled at me to file a claim on line as they never scanned the package; therefore, it turns out nobody can be accountable for my package. The issue is, they just flat out refuse to help you, plain and simple, they lack ANY customer service. read more

I visited to this post office on a Friday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a very reasonable line. My perspective is warped, I usually only set foot in post offices around Christmastime - and yikes, what a madhouse! The post office is a beautiful and spacious inside, and if memory serves it looks like it has been recently redone! Much cleaner, brighter, modern and spacious! The self-serve areas were busy as always, and with 2 employees working, I only waited 7-8 minutes in line. I visited and got in line as opposed to the preferred self-serve because I was mailing 33 odd-size envelopes, knowing it would be more than just standard postage. I was surprised when I got up front and was handed 33 66-cent stamps - I had thought the envelopes would have been run through a postage meter office-style. So I was bit disgruntled about having to stamp all the envelopes - but I assume that was my bad, my error in judgment. Note to self and others: unless your request is super duper wacky, always consult that self-service machine first. Today I went to mail a package to a friend in New Jersey.... they couldn't get the tape with the tracking on it to print out so they voided the tracking and issued another number then printed out the tape. They didn't even do an acceptance scan. I have no idea whether it is the first or second number on the tape that is valid. I got their phone number from USPS.com BUT when I Call it they answer, "Concord main post office" and it is the number for the PLEASANT HILL, CA post office on Contra Costa Blvd??? SOMETHING IS GETTING REALLY WRONG HERE WHEN PEOPLE ARE UNABLE TO DO WORK COMPETENTLY. After flubbing up the tracking on my package they should have automatically done a scan to scan it as accepted to prove WHICH number is valid, but NOOOOO. I've shipped a lot of things through this post office and I may have to find another one where people aren't as incompetent. LAST week they automatically assumed how fast I wanted a package shipped and were nonplussed when I asked for tracking. TWO mistakes in TWO weeks, back to back incidents? NOT ACCEPTABLE. An occasional mistake, maybe... but this is starting to become a pattern. read more

Never thought I'd write a review for a USPS office but gosh the nice staff here just deserve a 5-star review. I came here in an afternoon on Friday with a huge stack of letter size documents that has to be mailed out. As soon as I stepped in, a staff greeted me and asked if I need help. I told her I need to mail this stack of documents in a secured envelope or box. She gave me recommendation and grabbed all the things I need (mailing label, pen, tapes, etc) for me to pack and mail my thing. She even sealed my package for me while I was busy writing the mailing label and the certified label. They have super attentive and helpful service. This will be my go-to USPS from now on. read more

DO NOT RENT A PO BOX HERE! We recently opened a po box at this location. We were going on vacation and had a package that was being delivered so for safety sake (or so we thought), we decided to have it delivered to the post office. The post office is the safest place for delivery, right? NO! While on vacation, we received a confirmation from the shipper that the package had been delivered to the post office. Upon return, I went to the po box and looked for the "slip" they are supposed to put in your box indicating that there is a package waiting for you. No slip. Great. Go to the counter and they tell me they didn't have a package and to go to the Concord main post office, maybe they received it by mistake. Seriously, you are expecting me, the customer, to drive to another city to check to see if another post office has my package? I told them that the scan showed they received it so why on earth would I have to chase the package down. At that point, they were done with me and would not take any more time to help me. Their attitude was "we don't have it, now leave, we are done with you" I left so frustrated. I contacted the shipper who tried calling them and said the phone rang and rang and rang. They never reached anyone at the post office. Fast forward 3 days...I again went to the post office and again there was no slip in my po box. Went to the counter, same thing. They said they don't have it, it must have been delivered. I asked them to show me where I signed for the package and they said they don't need a signature. What? Do they just randomly give out packages to people? When I asked them for a "claim form" to file against the USPS for losing/stealing/giving my package away to someone else, they refused. Said they aren't able to give out claim forms--only the postmaster can do that. WTH? So I asked them if they were refusing to give me a claim form and they said they do not have them. So which is it, you don't have them or you are not allowed to give them out? This was the biggest bunch of run around I could stand for. There is no way I can properly convey the absolute absurdity of the situation. I know full well that they either know what happened (theft or loss) to the package. Reading some of the other reviews the Postal service may want to start paying closer attention to this location. Needless to say, we will be closing our po box at this location. Not only is the customer service the absolute worst ever, but something fishy is going on here--packages just don't disappear. read more

I have got to say USPS IS THE WORST! I ordered some stuff online and it was supposed to arrive yesterday. Not only did I pay for PRIORITY EXPRESS SHIPPING it didn't even arrive. I got a notice on my door and I went to the post office the rude Asian lady threw the notice in my face and said she can't help me. Not only am I going to demand a refund for my shipping I am going to demand a refund for the time spent talking and dealing with USPS. I still haven't received my package!!!! So far this post office has been absolutely awful. They do not answer their phones. It just rings and tells you to call back during business hours- all day. I dropped a package off over a week ago and it still has not been scanned. Not to mention the absolutely terrible carrier service that I've had for the last three years. Too bad it's the only post office in town- such a shame. read more

We have a wonderfully remodeled post office in Pleasant Hill although the service is still horrible. I went to UPS to mail a package last week the had a prepaid return label. First I went to the UPS store. When I parked I noted that the label was USPS. Since I needed to pay for my P.O. Box, I went to the Post Office. My boxed was not closed but the Post Office would not tape it. Really? You cannot provide a foot of package tape for your customers? Additionally I was 7 days late on paying my box fees and they charge me a "handling fee" of $21. The annual fee is only $128.00. 16% handling fee for seven days late? We have had our box for many years and have never been late. When I explained this to the cashier, she said they did not have the authority to waive the "handing fee."
