I work in support (Customer Service and Technical Support), so this was a good reminder of why great support matters. As a customer, I felt like they couldn't have cared less about me. I waited in line, got to the front, and two agents opened up. I stepped to one, and the person behind me stepped to the other. The one I approached didn't say, "I'm not available,"--she just walked away. The other didn't say, "She's not available, let me help you,"--instead, she helped the person behind me and then seemed to take her time on purpose. When it was finally my turn, I asked for some tape to attach my label (something I've done many times before). She handed me scotch tape with an unspoken "risk it." No apology, no mention that they didn't have proper tape, and no suggestion that I could purchase some. I had to look around myself and found tape for sale. I bought it, stepped aside so the next person could go, and taped up my package while she watched with a smirk. When I handed it to her, she just tossed it over her shoulder into the bin. There is never a place to park. It looks packed but when you go in, there maybe 3 or 4 people waiting. Who do all those cars belong to, the employees or the senior living across the street? I've been to this location a few times over the years as its pretty conveniently located just off Metcalf and next to Target. I feel like most post offices I've been to in recent years have really started to go down hill and this one, regrettably, is not unique in that way. The first thing I find challenging about this location is the parking. It's kind of an odd layout as the actual post office is about the size of a ranch style house - kind of a rectangle, and the parking lot is like a narrow road with some spots available in one solid row right in front of the building. It's an odd layout for a parking lot, and there aren't many spots, which means that if you come during the holidays (as I did) you might be SOL. I was lucky and happened to snag the last one, but when I got inside it felt old, kind of dirty, and there was a sizable line, with 2-3 folks working to get folks through. I can't speak to the employees here because seeing the line I opted for the kiosk, which promised holiday stamps. Now I knew what I was getting into with the print your own stamps before I got them, but it doesn't change that I struggle with why these machines can't spit out normal stamps, like a vending machine would, instead of printing the postage as ugly little qr code stickers. They seem to just scream to anyone receiving your package "yes, the sender of this parcel was indeed in a hurry and had no interest in getting a REAL stamp." I suppose I should just count my blessings that I even got in and out in under 20 minutes, but my holiday cards aesthetics did suffer. read more

So very sad for the Roeland Park customers that wanted me to be their regular carrier. I was fired on Valentine's Day after slaying to catch up your route after it was 90 days behind and abandoned for over a year. Your first class and certified sat in tubs for over 90 days and your regular mail was one week behind. It's a very sad day for customers to learn that supervisors don't like it when you give customers 5 star service. I purchased an $80 item that was delivered to the wrong address. Because I was tracking the item, this post office texted me that the item was delivered. I filed a claim to find my item, someone got in touch with me via telephone telling me that the item was, in fact, delivered to the wrong address. What do they do? They close the claim. Now I have to file ANOTHER claim for the same misdelivered item, with a different outcome? Isn't that the meaning of "Insanity", do something more than once and expecting a different result? One star is way too generous for this post office. I have lived in the Mission area for 17 years. And I have had the same experience every year with this place. I understand being understaffed. But somethings are just mind boggling. EVERY time I have a packaged that is delivered by the post office this is what happens. Arrives at Mission USPS facility on (dates and times are example of package that was to be delivered today) 10/25/23 @ 3:54 AM, gets marked out for delivery on 10/25/23 @ 7:16 AM, then gets marked arrives at Post Office preparing for delivery on 10/25/23 @ 9:36 AM. ???? What??? Is someone just that lazy they didn't bother to attempt delivery and took it back. Not sure what happened their motto? Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. Um....NO. They need to change this to......Sucker you are SOL, no matter the weather, we deliver when we damn well please. I really wish companies would tell you up front who they ship through......I would never buy from someone I know is shipping USPS. I have called and sent in email complaints.....and get a response we will bring it up in our team meeting. Ok, it does no good. UGH! The most ironic part of this, the Post Office was able to get this package from Fairfield OH to Mission KS in ONE day, now Mission will take um maybe 2 if I am lucky to get the package to me. And I live 1.1 mile from there. The service in the Post Office can be a little slow, but that service is much better than my carrier! read more

It's the post office which comes with its pros and cons. There is always a long wait and usually one person working. Sometimes they can only accept cards due to system malfunctions. They offer a stamp auto dispenser which is hella avoid the line. The store is always well stocked up and their selection varies based on upcoming holidays. Three offer cards for last minute add ons. Although, I've never used it they offer PO Boxes. read more

I needed to drop off a package, I didn't need to stand in line, it was already labeled and ready to go, I had to drag my two babies in their car seats with me to try to drop this thing off, I get out there and the package drop off won't open. So I arrive at this location. It's busy but everyone, including myself follows the social distancing rules. I have an international package to send but it's very straightforward. I arrive to an older white woman. She immediately declares "I LEAVE AT 3, so someone else will help you" it was 2:45. Okay. I fill out the form. Again straightforward and very easy and I got right back to her in which she refuses to do my package, and stating "I leave at 3" it was almost 2:50. So I wait. The nice woman who actually works at her job helped me. The entire process with her? It only took 3-5 minutes. I hope that extra ten minutes of not doing your job was worth it. This places needs to get rid of that woman fast. read more

It is pretty slow, not enough employees, which is probably true of any post office. Often there is a line. My main complaint, though, is that the staff can be very rude. They just seem very annoyed by the fact that I want to mail a package. read more

I've only been in this location a few times, but the woman behind the counter is friendly, quick, and efficient. She was there at both random days and times that I've come in. I don't know what it is but I always prefer human interaction instead of the machine when I send out large envelopes. Both of my visits, I also noticed there wasn't a line so why not chat with the employees and bring a little conversation to the day. read more

This is my local post office, although this is technically not where my mail comes from. I prefer this location for its easy access and the staff here is always very speedy! When it comes to customer service I honestly do not need teeth gleaming and extra needless banter. Just have some manners and even a 1/2 a smile works. That's what you get here. The folks at the counter always seem to be working with hustle and they are friendly too! I appreciate that kind of support. I'm keeping a star because the place could use a broom and a mop. read more

This is a pretty decent post office and I noticed it is open until 4pm on Saturdays. Usually, I just use the self-service machine in the lobby but I've also had to go in and seek assistance from humans. Generally, they are friendly and customer-service oriented and service is quick and efficient. One of my favoriet post office locations. read more

This is the only one in Johnson County that is open past noon on a Saturday - you can of course always go to a Hy-vee annex but if you need to send international stuff this is your only option late on a Saturday. Pretty decently fast service for an institution known for taking its time. read more

Just went to my local post office to have them do a return mailing for merchandise. I didn't have packing tape at home so I told the postal worker that the box was ready to go just needed to be takes up. She said," I don't have tape." I said may I purchase some and she said she only had express and priority tape. Now I've been to this post office before and have had great service and the postal worker tapes my box for me. Pretty good as far as USPS Offices go. I feel like the employees are friendly and professional and efficient. I went in during the holidays and they were quick and pleasant. Even then, the office was organized and clean. The parking kind of sucks and is annoying when it's busy. read more

While I wait on hold over 20 minutes with the USPS, I thought I might as well review the Mission, KS branch. Their missed delivery, misdirected deliveries, and delayed mail are always a source of frustration at my home. On the pickup side, we hang mail on our mailbox, visible from the street. It never fails that if we have something important, they will skip us so we usually drive to the post office and put it in the collection box. For a SERVICE, they do poorly (yes, I'm still on hold) and calling the Mission Post Office directly is impossible. The receiving voicemail box is full and when it trys to redirect to an attendant, it says no attendant has been designated. So, calling directly to resolve a local problem is a waste of effort. Why am I upset? The package I waited for all day yesterday was finally delivered...TO ANOTHER ZIP CODE! Of course, all the tracking and on-line help shows delivery complete. I checked with the sender and it was addressed properly. I know the problem is local with the incompetents they hire. We actually watched one day when they delivered a package to my neighbor, pulled up in front of our house, sat there and pondered something before finally driving off. My neighbor came over with MY package. A while later, another carrier came and delivered the proper package to my neighbor. No chance they would try to find out what they did with mine. With the tracking they have now, we can see where our time sensitive mail and packages are getting stuck. Yes, most of the time it is in Mission, KS. One one occasion, our package sat there for four (4) extra days and finally our (now retired) carrier came whining that they wouldn't let him go home until he actually made that delivery (and that was after 5:00 PM). Personally, I think they should find another service to perform as delivering mail may not be the USPS's thing. read more

I'm so upset I order something in November it finally made it to the post office in Mission KS, but the zip code was wrong for delivery. No one look up the correct zip code by the address they sent it back to the sender in China. And YES I have 17track on my phone went out for delivery on 1/21/2020 and return to sender in 1/21/2020 at 12:19pm. I called around 3:30pm and 1st someone said they would send it back out tomorrow. Around 5:30pm someone call me back and said it's to late they return it to sender in China and don't no how to stop it and return it back to Mission KS POST OFFICE....... and if they can return it I have to pay $15.00..... read more

This is a pretty freakin' awful post office. We used to have a great post office down the road from us, but they're all but closed with greatly reduced hours. Our mail now comes out of this mess of an operation and I can tell you we're not particularly thrilled. Recently, we went on a short vacation. While we were out, we decided to put the mail on hold. Big mistake. It was never a problem when the mail was handled through the post office in our neighborhood, but apparently this post office can't handle mail holds. On the first day of our mail hold, they delivered mail to us, anyway, so there was mail sticking out of our box for our entire vacation making it look like we weren't home. Not cool. The remainder of the mail was supposed to be delivered the day after we returned, but it was never delivered. We called the post office, but calls went to a mailbox that was full. Hmm. So we went to the post office and they couldn't figure out where our mail went saying it was probably out with our carrier for delivery but to call another number if it wasn't delivered. Of course, it wasn't delivered. So I called the number and the clueless person on the other end of the phone said he'd check into it and call back. You know where this is going, right? Of course there was no call back. We finally decided to give up on this fruitless endeavor as it's painfully clear that our held mail was either lost or discarded. In addition to this debacle, the customer service in the post office is almost always slow and surly. I have been here when there was a line outside of the door for no apparent reason. I have seen postal employees not serve customers waiting in a long line so that they could continue a personal conversation. I always dread having to come to this post office because it has never been a positive experience. read more

I don't really enjoy going to the post office, but since I sell and trade clothing online, I have to go there about 1-2 times weekly. I prefer the Union Station location since it will get the packages out in no time. However, I normally just go to this location. There is one employee in particular who is super friendly, I forget her name, but am always blown away by her service. I LOVE the fact that this post office has a machine where you can just weigh about any package or letter and pay with a credit card, saves so much time. Also, this location has extended hours! That is awesome when I have to pick up a package. read more

I will second the previous complaint about hold mails. On at least two occasions I indicated that I would pick up accumulated mail but it was delivered anyway, causing my mailbox to be overstuffed. The most recent time, it was delivered a day early. The postman included a copy of my hold-mail order with the mail he delivered, which clearly indicated mail was to be held for pickup. the previous time it happened I complained, and the person there sort of laughed it off. Suggestion: if you need to have mail held, stuff your mailbox with a cardboard box or something like that with a note on top saying "Mail is supposed to be on hold." (The note would be inside the lid, so no one would see it unless he/she opened your mailbox in the first place) read more

According to USPS tracking, two different packages were "delivered to me" on 29Jan2014 at 9:50 am. However, as I went out to get my mail that day and said hello to my carrier, I confirmed that there were no packages delivered that day. I have subsequently called the (913) 831-5375 and left 7 messages none of which have been returned or acknowledged in any way. I then went to the 6029 Broadmoor St. Post office on 01Feb2014 to try and speak with someone about my missing packages and was told that the supervisor would speak to my carrier that afternoon once he returned from his route and would call me after that conversation and 4 days later have still yet to receive any response or acknowledgement. The service I have received (or lack thereof) is astonishing and very disappointing. These were two packages that I paid for and the postal service has somehow "lost" but because someone scanned the package as "delivered" while still at the Mission Post Office and prior to being delivered, they want to ignore there error and take no accountability. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!!! read more
