The receptionist, Linda, was incredibly rude. I've had more pleasant experiences at the DMV than the one I had with Linda. At the end of the interaction when I was paying for my shipment, she reached around the glass and clicked the green smiley face for me, indicating that I had had a pleasant experience. This couldn't be further from the truth. Between the demeaning tone and the rude and sarcastic responses, I left feeling very upset. She gave off an arrogant, untouchable attitude. The item I was shipping was breakable so I asked if I could put fragile on the box. She proceeds to tell me "it's not gonna matter, what matters is how it's packaged" (completely fair!!) I told her i understood but asked if we could still put fragile on it for my mental. We do this same dance 3 times before she settles on giving me a marker so I can write fragile on it. The computer asks me if there is anything fragile, I hit yes. She let out a sigh and pulls out a stamp to stamp what I assume says "fragile" on the box. "Ugh this is so hard" she says as she stamps onto the box. I apologized about not being familiar with the process and her response was "well honey that's not a good excuse because everyone orders packages." To which I responded "i actually don't" and she proceeded to tell me that I was a "fibber" and ask if I've ever gotten a piece of mail in my life. And believe it or not, sending and receiving a package are two very different experiences. Someone speaking to people like this should not be dealing with the public. read more

Quiet post office in downtown area. There were just a couple of patrons other than myself at this post office and I was able to get what I needed quick. The staff was friendly and helpful and like normal post offices, they have plenty of boxes, cards, mailing supplies you can purchase here. read more

You are there day in and day out delivering all of our mail and so many packages ... I just walked by our local truck and it was packed with Amazon boxes. My guess is you are seeing a surge of those - yet they continue to arrive on time and damage free. If all the businesses, I think you deserve the "unsung hero's of the day" today !!! This post office is way under staffed. I don't understand why as its a big facility and is a downtown location, so lots of customers. Its a nice facility but if I have to stand for more than 10 mins, then that doesn't matter much. I feel for the workers there and hope they get more staff soon. read more

Pros: Good location Lots of parking for a downtown location Never really busy Cons: There is typically only one person working at the counter. Even when there is a line, you can see people in the back doing nothing. Employees seem like they'd rather be anywhere else and are sometimes rude. Today was actually the best experience I've ever had there. I was waiting in line, and another employee stepped out from the back to help, and she was pleasant. I would rate this office a five star. We walked and immediately were greeted and asked how they could help. A gentleman named Terry and another female about his age were there to help. They both were very helpful and friendly at the same time. I had my infant and two young sons with me, they both played and joked with my kids while processing our paperwork. Please ignore the 1 star. They deserve ZERO stars. Let's see, $13.00 for a box, $3.50 for tape, plus 10% sales tax, equals $18.15 they didn't get out of me. I went to this post office this morning to return an AT&T modem box and I was pushed out of line by 1) woman with a baby stroller and 2) woman that had to run out to her car to get something. They kept pushing me back for these two customers. I finally left the box on the counter, walked out, went to a gas station, got me a box, went home and taped up the box and delivered it to the post office in East Nashville where I was greeted with "Morning sweetie, what can I do you for?" In my life outside of Yelp, I have been a part of taking people all over the world on trips. Passports are needed and it's expensive. I have learned through the years where to cut dollars and where to pony up a few extra when it comes to passports. There is only one way, in my opinion, to receive your first passport or to renew a passport...The United States Post Office. I have seen dozens of people waste time downloading applications, getting pictures made at CVS or Walgreens, only to show up at the PO and need to redo the application and pictures. Why? The PO has the system down pat...they answer all questions about the application and they take pictures that always meet the requirements. And, after all, they are responsible for vouching for your identity. Do it right the first folks...save yourself some time and spend the extra $5 on a PO picture as opposed to the cheaper drugstore photographer. Just the other day, I grabbed my Passport to book an international flight. Crud. My passport just expired. I immediately went to the PO at The Frist and in 6 minutes I walked out having made new application, photo taken, payment arranged, and mail sent. Wow! That was fast! read more

Do not use usps to mail books even with tracking. Packages go into space and no accountability on usps part. No wonder they are broke. Bad service. read more
