I never have any issues when using this branch of the USPS. Most of the times the lines move quickly and the people that work there are always helpful. The other day however I had a wonderful experience and just had to share it. Danita helped me ship a package out and she was just top notch from the beginning to the end of the process. She was kind, helpful, and really went the extra step(s) to help me select the best box for my item, timeline and my budget. Danita did not have to take the time she did to help me...she really went the extra mile and it did not go unnoticed. read more

me giving the post office 4 stars means that i had a quick , friendly and pleasant experience and we all know that's not easy when it comes to the usps. the location is on 34th st off park ave and it's not a big place but spacious enough to do your postal business . the line was semi long but with 3 windows open with clerks working it was moving and was actually treated nicely by the asian lady, who took my certified letters and had me out in less then 5 minutes . the place also has a 24/7 kiosk machine if you are a night person or hate lines. from what i can see the place is clean and kept organized with postal supplies. i felt lucky on this visit by not waiting long or dealing with rude bitchy attitudes so let's see how the next visit goes. read more

This is the WORST post office I have ever been to. I've been there multiple times and the customer service is HORRIBLE. What is worse is that if you go there a few minutes before closing time...they never wanna help you out..instead, they tell you to go to another post office many avenues away. I don't understand why they just cant do their job even if that means just waiting an extra 10-20 minutes after 5'oclock. The workers there expect you to know all the rules and forms and when you finally get to the front of the line to speak with them, they are upset at you because you don't have the correct form, etc. Isn't it their job to help the customer out? And even further, their customer service continuously gets worse and worse each time I go there. It aches me to go there every time but I am left with no choice, unfortunately. These postal workers need to be nicer, courteous and actually do their job instead of being inconsiderate and rude. read more

Lisa (the fat Asian lady behind the counter) should be fired. I was just mailing a flat rate envelope and wasn't able to write the mailing address on it before getting on line because there was no working pen by the envelopes. I waited half an hour on line (a line of 3 people because that's how slowly this place moves). When I finally got to the counter, Lisa yelled at me to get out of line and fill out the envelope first and lied about there being pens by the envelopes. We had a petty exchange where she was extremely nasty to me (over a pen). I am pregnant and the stress of being treated in this manner made me feel unwell. Lisa is a liability to this office if she is not trained properly on how to speak to customers. read more

This review is based on the one visit I just had. Yes, it's holiday season and it's likely that there is a higher volume of packages going out so wouldn't it be smart to have more employees working the window?? I came here to pick up a package that was missed upon delivery to my apartment. There was a long line at the post office so I asked an employee 'hey do I wait on this line to pick up packages?' And I got a straight answer 'yes.' The line continues to grow about 20-30 people deep and there are only 4 people manning the counters. Thirty minutes later I get to the counter only to be told I'm on the wrong line. Excuse me?? Your employee said otherwise. Don't tell me I just wasted a half hour of my life!!! This is completely frustrating especially since I asked beforehand!!! If there aren't adequate signs posted, at the very least you would think the employees would know where to direct people. Utter incompetence!! read more

Every time I have actually gone into this Post Office I have been helped, eventually, by any of the few people behind the counter. However, I give one star because I NEVER receive a peach delivery slip at home stating that an attempt at delivery has been made. I live in the area, and have for over 20 years, and I have to wonder if they simply don't even try to make deliveries anymore? Today after contacting a shop overseas where I purchased a Christmas present, I have confirmation that "a delivery attempt was made on January 25th"; almost two full weeks ago! Due to my work schedule I will not be able to collect this package at the Post Office until NEXT Saturday. This Post Office should simply state that they do not deliver packages. If they can't even deliver a slip of paper noting that a delivery has been attempted, how can they possibly go about successfully delivering the US mail? read more

This post office is by far one of the best post offices I have ever been to. Extremely friendly staff. Nobody wants to spend hours waiting in line to finish their mailing list. The staff at this post office ensures you have everything you need and in the right order so that by the time you reach the counter, all you have to do is just pay rather than having to fill up another form cause you might have filled up the wrong one. This place is extremely unprofessional. I asked a Chinese woman very nicely, why did I need to "buy" tape when I always go to this place and they always put the label into an envelope for me that sticks to the package at no charge. She automatically became upset and stated that I can take my business somewhere else. Then a black woman behind her intruded in our conversation and was very rude by saying' Is it your package? so yes you have to pack it yourself, step to the side!" I asked for help with the actual packaging after I was forced to purchase the tape and move away and I was totally ignored. Then a tall black man, who was asking people on the line if they needed help, stated "well she had an attitude from when she walked in!". This behavior is totally unprofessional and ridiculous and I felt completely attacked and helpless. I usually come here because I am a Ebay seller and have no problem, I asked one question and it led to disaster. Yes no stars for the employees at this location. I am disgusted. read more

I normally wouldn't write an excellent review about a post office, but this one deserves it, because of all the post offices I've used in New York City, this one is far the best, with the friendliest and most fun staff I've encountered for personal or business reasons. They have always been patient with me, helping me with preparing complicated packaging for my job and going out of their way to provide a laugh or a smile to make the visit a more pleasant one. My only issue when there are issues are the customers in front of me who seem to be from another world, but that goes from post office to post office and covers pretty much every type of customer service I've dealt with in NY. You can only be as efficient as the customers you serve, and some people are so unorganized and self-centered, they don't realize the chaos they cause by either not being prepared to get their business done quickly and efficiently, or leaving a line and expecting to get back in where they were before, or making issues impossible for a clerk to deal with. I give these clerks credit though for their patience, because in watching them deal with difficult customers, it helps reduce my tension before I get up there, and usually, I'm able to provide them with a smile or laugh as a way of thanking them for being so on the ball. read more

I live in the Bronx, and I have mailed bills, birthday card to my son, this was done on separate occasions and both times, the mail never reached their destinations, bills were late, had to resend them and my son never received his birthday card which had money order in it, now my mother says that her bills never reached their destinations, I complained to the Bronx post office and was told all mail goes to the 34th street post office for distribution, now im not sure if mail is getting lost, which means employees are not performing their jobs right, or you have employees who are opening peoples mail and taking its contents, which is disturbing. This has been happening a lot, and I would hope this will be investigated, I will be following up on this and if it happens to me again, I will be informing the news on this about mail not being delivered to their destinations due to possible post office employees opening mail or deliberately throwing away peoples mail because they're disgruntled, please look into this so it doesn't happen again, people trust the post office with their personal checks, bills, items that we send out, and when it doesn't get there, not once, or twice but three separate occasions, you start to questions what goes on in the post office and kind of trust worthy employees work there. read more
